I understand you're disappointed about not being able to visit Machu Pichu, I really do. But...Machu Picchu is one of those places that is being "loved to death," essentially diminishing the very thing that draws visitors there in the first place. Add to the fact that it is over-crowded, it is also grossly overpriced. Peru is literally dripping in ruins, many of them comparable to Machu Pichu and all of them less crowded, less expensive and a much better experience. As a seasoned traveler who has spent the last 50 years visiting South America my advice is to seek out those alternatives and leave Machu Picchu to the flabby, rich tourists on big box package tours. You'll have a much better experience at places like Kuelap or Choquequirao.
Cancel motorized transport to Machu Picchu. If people had to hike up there, they would appreciate the place more while at the same time limit the masses to a manageable number.
It's easier to bump start in second gear high, just saying. Less work to turn over the motor, and faster turn over. Absolutely wonder videos, top quality real experience. Thankyou for sharing
The way you tell your story....the music....the shots. Cheers from a peruvian overlanding the world as you guys. Currently in Mendoza, Argentina. Hope we cross paths.
Howdy! Been enjoying y’all’s channel for a bit now. I thought I would mention Ive had a Walboro 255 retrofit in my E30 for the past 8 years / 60k miles. It is a very loud fuel pump but has been reliable for me. Knock offs are a problem with these fuel pumps but I wouldn’t let the loudness scare you, they’re notorious for it.
You guys are definitely my most favorite ADV moto biking Channel on all of you tube--I try to never miss a posting. Thanks for all you do! No doubt, you will keep up the good work!
Just imagine how much privledge you have. Imagine how impossible for many or any folks you pass on your trip will be to travel north. Please give more and learn more. 1st world privledge is such a blinder. Enjoy fellow toyoter
I enjoy what you share. The rainbow mountain view is breathtaking so much so I had to rewind the video. Cusco that amazing building presumably a church and market wow.
Okay, guys, dancing on the street. The one with tall hat. Matt, you need one...lol😅 always great video, you two. Clean the fuel filter or change it if you have.
I once spent a half day searching for a corkscrew in Bogota, Colombia. It was before Google Translate and I didn't know the word for "corkscrew." I feel your pain going from one store to another searching for something. Found one at a hardware store of all places.
I discovered your channel just 2 weeks ago. Since then I have been watching several of your videos every day. I will watch all of them soon, you are doing a great job! You gave me the energy to continue building my Suzuki Samurai LWB with a roof top tent with bed, something like a Toyota LC 70 Troopy - it's alot of work... Cheers from Poland!
Dude, you're starting to look like Captain Dan from Forrest Gump! Nice close up of the vertebrae on your antenna you got from Mexico I think. It needs a name if you haven't given it one yet. I got one BIG step closer to starting my cross country RV adventure today, my first sponsor! I've learned much from your show, especially in the production department. I hope you follow me when I start my build soon. Safe travels! Wesley, from Florida
You are right - things happen for a reason and I'm feeling your next adventure will outweigh Machu Pichu with all the tourists! So far, you senses haven't steered you wrong, and can't wait for next Thursday..........as always, much love 💙
Another great video. It doesn't make sense to me that if it was flooded with fuel that bump starting it would make any difference. Your regulator and injectors should be controlling the amount of fuel into the engine. Maybe try some fuel injector cleaner or something?
Good evening from the south Okanagan, thanks for a look at another section of this wondrous planet. The drone shots continue to be nothing short of amazing. Sorry to hear about the issues with the fuel system, hopefully you can figure out a solution sooner than later on that. Safe travels you two.
Too bad you never got to Colca Canyon where there is a Condor Reserve there. We always stay at the Ecolodge my husband’s nephew has part ownership in. They also have Aquas Terminales, hot spring pools- Spectacular♥️‼️♥️
Peru has many different kinds of backgrounds. Standard transmissions not only more fun to drive. Bomb starting can be done when failed to start. Had a 1994 Toyota 4runner 5speed with 22re. Had to bomb start that a few times. Its also getting hotter. Not going to Brazil?
Beautiful scenery!! Sad you could not visit MachuPichu, but perhaps another time. Glad to hear you are traveling with friends 😊 see you on your next adventure 🙌🤩🥰🥰
The mountains were so black it looked like you had edited the film to remove color from just that portion of the shot. I really do know it's no longer film, but I'm old, so it will always be film. The cities there are so loud and colorful and contrast the countryside so much, it's shocking. Peru does seem to be a must-see destination and it's too bad about the protest. As Hamlet's mother would say "The lady doth protest too much, methinks". It's seems like the entire world protests too much, but then once again, I'm old.
I think that has been our favourite part about Peru. The contrast between altitude and populated areas. One minute you’re surrounded by nothing but Alapacas, the next you’re shoulder to shoulder in cobblestone streets. It’s a beautiful contrast indeed.
Chinook Airship. Sky country, unreal. 4800 mt, wow... Lots of Mate de Coca?...How is the 5VZ behaving? oh, you did have problems...what was it? Soaked plugs sound like rich mixture...confused sensors? MAF? Bad Fuel? Ok, pump is sus. Not a Toyota, pump, I remember. That issue happens to almost all of us around here, it's an ongoing battle with bad parts, fuel quality and altitude. Good thing you traveled tandem, almost always the best idea, with reliable people. Navel of the World. Protest is a fact of life in Latin America. Even worse if they are not allowed by gvt. pressure release valve. The worse part of Cusco is not being tempted by wonderful, heavy food, and sticking to recommended soups to avoid altitude sickness. Staying with the Pisca Andina (Chicken Cilantro egg soup), leave the amazing Pisco for when you come down. But DO have a Pisco Sour. Great attitude, leave Machu Pichu for a better time, a reason to go back. Visited the path less traveled. Kudos. Impressive filming, professional quality. Wow. BTW, I've been working on a 1GR this weeks (Fortuner). I found that it has tiny oil ducts, really bad for longevity, specially when oil quality is iffy. Still great but, probably, shorter life. I am starting to agree with you, the iron block 5VZ might be top dog for a a Hilux/Taco size car. I do love my L6, F engines, but 10-14MPG is an issue for such long trips. Darn, engineers fix one problem but create a new one with each revision. I believe that your astute choice proved itself. Except for the fuel delivery/management system, but 4800 is extreme...still VERY impressive. I will keep a close watch on what choice you make. I'll keep my eyes peeled and ask engineers for ideas, if I find something Ill post it here. Your almost out of continent, but the last bit still long and amazing. Blessings, safety and happy trails.
Nice one, sorry about MP. The protests basically killed our 2023 here in Cusco. My company, Tambopata Travel, works with rainforest experiences out of Puerto Maldonado - pandemic meant 2 years no income, then recovered a bit, then the protests last year. Luckily that protests you gound, aboyt privatising MP ticket sales, only lasted a couple of days & all sorted. Pity you couldn't do a 4 or 5-day rainforest experience at a lodge out of Puerto, amazing flocks of macaws etc & we have a 40% jaguar viewing rate in the national reserve up the Tambopata River - next time maybe? Like the 300% humidity 😅
Another great episode to your adventure, and as usual superbly edited, one of the best of the overlanders 👍 Also, when you team up with travel buddies would be great if could introduce them, then can follow them too, especially when they are driving a Defender! 😉
Greetings from the same side of this gem, thanks brother an sister for yet another beautiful post , as one who hates a lot of this modern life have ta say sitting under tarp with rain in NZ bush watching my favourite Canadians travel is not to shabby, just wondering what your exit plans are, do you go back to places like this that one missed or on to Australia by boat or just take another even less traveled rd home , stay safe an thanks again for your company out with the pigs dear an bird life 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤙🏽🖖🏽
Hi Guy, I really love your footage and enjoy to be part of you jouerny a lot. Can you please tell me how are your experiences with starlink are and wich plan (subscription) you are using? Thanks a lot! Karune
Hello! Thank you so much. We’re using the mobile subscription? We think? Haha we’re using the cheap one, not the mobile, global one. We changed subscriptions when we came to South America. Ie: we cancelled subscription in Panama and sold it to ourselves to start a new one in Colombia.
Kind of ironic that you two live on the salt chuck of the West Coast of Canada! The last thing you need to see is salt water😳!!!! BAHAHAHAHA 🤣😂 Cheers from BC🍻

Excellent advice
Cancel motorized transport to Machu Picchu. If people had to hike up there, they would appreciate the place more while at the same time limit the masses to a manageable number.
We have travelled to Machu Picchu during a 30 year span and I must say the first 15-20 years were spectacular❣️‼️❣️
Nepal & Peru have so much in common we may not even realize!
It's easier to bump start in second gear high, just saying. Less work to turn over the motor, and faster turn over. Absolutely wonder videos, top quality real experience. Thankyou for sharing
Low range=faster engine rpm.
@@jasonh4167 you won't get the wheels to turn over, the engine locks up.
@@jasonh41672nd gear 2w high is best... There's no lock up.. next best is 2w high in reverse
Love you guys. You inspire, inform and reinforce my belief and confidence in young people.
That makes us happy 🤙🏼
Thank you for the ride. Always wanting more…
We hope to always bring it
The way you tell your story....the music....the shots. Cheers from a peruvian overlanding the world as you guys. Currently in Mendoza, Argentina. Hope we cross paths.
Thank you so much for watching!
Wow... The salt "mine"... So cool! And I loved Stacey's little kitten friend❤
Wonderful as always... Love you❤❤❤
We almost took the kitten with us! 🤍
I'm very appreciative of the many out of the way places that you have taken us to that I would never see or even know that they existed. Thanks 👍
We’re so happy you enjoyed it!

Santiago would approve of how you rolled with the punches.
Mesmerizing journey great 👍 location.😊
Okay, guys, dancing on the street. The one with tall hat. Matt, you need one...lol😅 always great video, you two. Clean the fuel filter or change it if you have.
Haha it was amazing! And we changed the filter, hoping that helped.
I once spent a half day searching for a corkscrew in Bogota, Colombia. It was before Google Translate and I didn't know the word for "corkscrew." I feel your pain going from one store to another searching for something. Found one at a hardware store of all places.
😂 so you truly understand
We’ve been to Peru many times, 5 times to Machu Picchu for me🥰❣️🙏🏼My husband is from Arequipa Peru. We use the Maras salt every day in our food🤗❣️🌈
Inspiring to say the least!
Love it!

Another great video. It doesn't make sense to me that if it was flooded with fuel that bump starting it would make any difference. Your regulator and injectors should be controlling the amount of fuel into the engine. Maybe try some fuel injector cleaner or something?
Enjoyed this one as allways! Crocs a bit scary though lol
Seriously awesome show😎
BIG FAN! keep it up!
Just gotta roll with it, right. Its the experience more so than the hot spot.
Absolutely 🤙🏼
So epic. Love your adventures 🤙
Recovered by a Defender, nice!! Looking forward to the next leg of your journey, sounds exciting.
Thought you’d be proud! 🫣
awesome video, thanks
Awesome content. Thank you.

The drone over the salt mine reminds me of the opening part of Blade Runner 2049!
Haha yes!!

Thank you! Sounds like you have the perfect rig to do it

We drove around the square in Cusco in our 1929 Model A and got stopped by the police…. They wanted selfies with our car. 😊😊

Great video. Looking forward to the next country, which I assume would be Brazil.
Great guess!
Are you still traversing the country side now
That Land Rover Defender was sexy looking!
🏵️
Jaysus! Was that a Westphalia in that field? I wouldn’t want to take one of those farther than pushing distance from home…
😂😂 you’d be surprised at how many are travelling the Pan am
Your adventures are amazing! Is there a first video that sparked it all??
Yes! Go way back

No citronella candle for you. Sounds like Minnesota style heat and humidity 😂
Drop a vid I'm fending out over here🤣
Brasil or Bolivia?
You’ll have to see 😶
One can of Pringles and bug spray?ugh... A case.lol
Sounds like Bolivia is next.
Hmmmm close…..
