The Linkin Park references are definitely on purpose. The internet was full of Androids+Cell arc anime music videos a couple of decades ago, and a lot of those had Linkin Park music. 😆

The Keikaku/Cake joke is from an early fan sub of Death Note. It was a trend back in those trashy days for people to slip in japanese words in the dubs to sound smart, and there'd be a 'translator's note' at the bottom. "All according to Keikaku" is the most well known.

I don't remember it being a trend so much but THAT in particular was goofy as fuck. Keeping some words in Japanese works when they're like titles or moves or names but the word PLAN DAWG? NO JUST TRANSLATE IT YA WEIRDO

@@SakuraAvalonNah I dabble in Japanese translation, he’s exactly right. They were leaving “Keikaku” untranslated to sound cool/smart/trendy and it’s piss-poor translation work. I also doubt it was 100% for free considering those sites bring in revenue using ads.
Toriyama is also the reason why Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest series became as stylistic as they did. He is such a massive cultural icon that I don't know anybody can fill his shoes. Been lovin' joinin' you two on this trip.

Vegeta *respected* Krillin right there, because Krillin stood up to him. It helps that he probably remembered what Tien said a while back (about why Tien antagonized Vegeta). "It's a game. If he kills me, I win. And he knows that."
I love so much that Tien is 100% right about that. Getting someone so mad they fight you or try to kill you is definitely the number one sign you won the shit talking competition.

Ep 60 part 2 is imo the perfect episode. Perfect mix of humor but also elevating the original show in places. Goku's farewell speech hits hard. "That year in the Time Chamber was the best year of my life. Take care of your Mom. Bye son." ❤
The "Bye son" specifically hits so damned hard. They used that phrase throughout the series to highlight just how bad of an absentee father Goku is and then, in Gohan's greatest moment of need, they bring it full circle and he's truly there for him.

Gohan's transformation scene never fails to hit me hard with emotions. No matter how many times i see it I'm brought back to sitting on the floor in front of my tv as a kid watching it for the first time again

They paid their respects to gohan transforming and didnt touch it. Thats why you felt all that emotion.

For the record, they all have superspeed. When Goku gave the speech and went to King Kais, it was like literal seconds. Soo sad when you think about it.

To quote king Kai from a few episodes before this one, "That man will be the death of me."
A quick note on Goku's sacrifice: Lani from TFS has said on record that he knew he wanted to build up to that moment from the first time they did Goku's "Bye son!" joke. He wanted to take something that had just been a funny recurring gag from the start, and turn it into something that made people cry.
As another person who got teary-eyed when that happened, I can say for sure that they succeeded.
As for how part 2 ends...you're close. You're about to met Super Perfect Cell.
Don’t worry about how Cell’s back, it gets explained in Part 3 (frankly speaking, explained better than in the actual series tbh).
I think the reason that Gohan was affected so much by Android 16's death is because, unlike every other person on their side that was there, he couldn't be brought back by the Dragon Balls. He was a purely metal true-blue Android, a real robot. When he was destroyed by Cell, that was it. He was gone forever. And Gohan knew that, but also the fact that 16 was the only one that could have drove home the point that Gohan WAS being a coward during that fight. He would have inadvertently let every one of his friends and family die by not doing anything about it. 16 set him straight and then dying was a pivotal moment in Gohan's life and because of his 16's death, Gohan became the very first Saiyan in the history of the universe to turn Super Saiyan 2. Plus, that song is pure epicness and high perfection for that great moment.

I had ordered a guitar that I loved for years and it got to me the day toriyama passed so in my mind that guitar was born with his spirit pushing me to get better and better like go Ku!

These were much heavier episodes than we expected!
These were the episodes that made this no ordinary fan based parody. Team Four Star became great storytellers in their own right.
It's hard for me to say which episode ending was more dramatic. The one when Cell absorbed 17 and when the transformation was done looked at 18, or the end of 60 part 1 when Gohan looked at cell with tears in his eyes while the music finished. Both were stupidly intense!
In real tiemyre we're waiting for episode 60 for years it was like we were actually watching Gohan grow up and reach this moment alongside him.
Fun Fact all the cell jr's in tfs are named after different voice actors for cell over the years besides Vegeta Jr Jr
You actually got the pronounciation of keikaku pretty good. It's an old joke referencing Death Note. There's a point where, for some reason, the translators writing the English subtitles decided to write the subtitle as "All according to keikaku" with the addition of the translator's note at the bottom and it's been a meme ever since because 計画 keikaku literally just means plan so there was no reason not to just fully translate it. This meme is a play on Goku thinking everything is food and saying "cake" instead of "keikaku"

The Linkin Lark reference’s were a callback to a couple of fan made AMV’s (Anime Music Videos) that were really popular back in the early days of TH-cam. It was Gohan vs Cell set to Linkin Park. I think I was in elementary school at the time? I remember watching the, a lot as a kid.

Its not really a spoiler since he's shown his regeneration quite a bit already. But remember Cell has Saiyan DNA. Saiyans get a power spike whenever they recover almost dieing (zenkai), the closer to death, the bigger the spike.
Cell's regeneration is so powerful that as long as a single cell (ha!) survives, he can regenerate back to full. And get the zenkai boost along with it

Apparently Gohan taking out all the Cell Jr.’s was heavily censored for the anime and in the manga they didn’t just explode in the cloud of smoke like that but it was more what you’d except from getting split in half and knocking off heads. I've spent time watching this series, and she *_clearly_* does show emotion, but they're subtle -and quick to anger.-
