One Correction: the king only had 2 children. Jasnah and Elhokar. Dalinar was the kings brother (the drunk one at the party).

Szeth son son Vallano, Truthless of Shinovar, wore white on the day he was to kill a king.
I read that when I was twelve, ten years ago and haven't looked back. Probably my favorite opening line to any book.

"the man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed" is up there for me. not finished with the dark tower as i write this, but still one of my favorites.

@@Cerrmann it depends on the stories you like. it gets crazy and takes a ton of left turns. the first one was a harder read for me, but it's also one of the shortest, with a great ending to get you hooked. i'm on book 4 right now, they only get longer and crazier

@@Cerrmann the first one was written many many years before the rest of the series, when stephen king was a young author. its very different to the rest of the series, and usually the worst received, but its important for plot. its also the shortest book. my recommendation would be to read it and reserve your judgment until the second book. if you dont like book 2, then the series probably isnt for you. however, the first book isnt bad, and i quite like it. but is is very very different

That prediction abou the epigraph was wild, for reasons you'll understand at one point.
I hope you have fun with the book! The first big chunk takes its time, but it's all 100% worth it.

For other books in the series each one starts with a single prologue, but the prologues are all connected to each other. So I think you should replicate this format for them as well when you get there, read the prologue and then make a video specifically about that. They are filled with secrets and revelations and foreshadowing so I think you’ll have a blast doing so.

I’m glad you’re seeing the structure of what you’ve started with this series! Yes, the three prologues are indicative of how ambitious Brandon is in writing Stormlight and I can just say that in my opinion, he really delivers. Interesting predictions and happy reading!

@@frantexmor8681 (Conor, don’t read this yet!)
I would count the Cenn chapter as a prologue, as it is another character’s POV introducing Kaladin. I know Brandon named it chapter 1 after running out of homonyms for prologues, but from a narrative perspective, I’d say it’s basically another prologue. Compare it to the prologue of The Final Empire, with the obligator serving as both worldbuilding and to segue to Kelsier.
