My boyfriend recommended this series to me for years and I always put it off. Now I've read everything in the Cosmere and am having withdrawals waiting for December. These edging sessions really do hit the spot.
Words can’t describe how excited I am for book 5. I remember waiting for Oathbringer to come out, picking it up at B&N in my tuxedo because I had a concert in an hour lol, and immediately starting on chapter 1 in a Cane’s because I just couldn’t wait

Although this reading was a few months back Im pretty sure they said the next podcast is on this reading. So even if he has beta read he is now free to talk about these chapters! They mentioned a bunch of podcasts were recorded before they started beta reading and held off to finish all the episodes so we got real responses in the dark

@@kaizentiger66You can't really compare the two. Graphic Audio has sound effects and music and a full cast. Michael Kramer as Syl (or any female character) is immersion-breaking to the highest degree.
I love listening to both, but I prefer normal audiobook usually, to get all the juicy details. Graphic audio paints the scene in your head extremely well with all the voice actors, music, and background sounds, but it's easier to lose track of some of the foreshadowing details, especially as some of the narrative text is slightly altered or omitted
I don’t actually mind waiting until December. Because the amount of books I have to re-read each time a new book comes out is increasing every single time. Last time it was 3 books, which is honestly more like 12 books. Now it’s 4 books, which is more like 16 books. And it’s also 90k words over, so maybe more like 17 books sheesh

Okay real talk though because I’m boring like that, there’s a group of us who who’re starved for good lgbt relationships in the main cosmere stories (not a critique, Brandon has made no secret of his fear of getting them wrong and needing to do it right when he does, particularly with his history) and feel like Adolin/Kaladin have prime romance fuel personality/character-wise. They have very good chemistry for a male-male relationship and could’ve made a very interesting couple dynamic/foils (Kaladin initially hates all lighteyes but knows and loves Shallan and Adolin intimately, he’s the leader of the windrunners, so for all intents and purposes, it puts the “power” in power couple, they’re all hot and popular characters etc etc). So well-meaning headcanons abound. From ppl shipping them as a polycule as a result (because Adolin/Shallan remain a very strong relationship too), to some just thinking the boys are canonically extrasexual and don’t consider the underlying romantic undertones because of the era/society’s gender norms, though it’s still unclear to what extent homosexual relationships are actually viewed in the broader sense of the alethi culture. Some even feel like Kaladin never really was sexually attracted to Shallan and that was largely based on the spren’s (uuuuuuh SYL)’s goading. Either way, ultimately no, there’s yet to be some hidden interview or note where Brandon confirms it, and he likely never will, but this is a bit of background for where this comes from and how/why we try to have our fun with it anyways! It was only said in some out-of-the-way event if memory serves and then got posted to the Arcanum and repeated on the 17th shard and Reddit. So I can absolutely understand you not having heard about it before. I really don't know how serious he was when he said it, too. It could have been a complete joke, deadly serious, or anywhere in between. So, take it however you wish. lol
@@Yoyo-si3hqnahh! Rhythm of War doesn't quite hold up on rereads. The middle part is a bit of a slog and the flashbacks are nowhere near as good as in the other books.
ROW feels like his WOT slog but is so good still doesn’t qualify as a slog. It’s very character driven and it’s clear he needed to move the chess pieces to get humans and parshindi moving toward one another in unity
I love Brandon's writing. So amazing. But i also love professional narrators 😃. Ended the video early and just decided to wait for the polished final product.

If I were to guess, I can't imagine they'll change it up. It is super successful as a bit of advertising for that new book, since multiple people will post about it on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, or wherever and then discuss it, which almost garuntees anyone interested will be made aware it's coming out, and the community loves it because of that same discussion. It's like a weekly television episode where you talk about the thing you just watched with all the people who just watched it. Theorycrafting about what is going on, where it's going, and how you can't wait for the next part or the whole book to be released. Where the chapters are so much smaller, relative to the size of a whole book, and everyone is on the same page (no pun intended... or no idiom intended? I don't know.)

Either Adolin and Shallan sail away into the night (which I highly doubt) or Adolin dies and Shallan obviously sails away to get revenge with Maya and her two Sprens. It is not too late please don’t kill Adolin 😢. But, I understand it is important to break all main characters. After all that is what helps radiants grow. To standup when you are kicked down.
I think SHallan already has a 3rd Spren that is hiding from her. Especially since she has access to Fortune. I suspect it's a Mistspren. A Truthwatcher's Future Sight combined with a Lightweaver's Resonance may give her the ability to access Fortune.
I highly doubt Adolin will die he’s barely even started his character arc and Brandon is definitely setting him up for a lot of stuff in the future. But I also highly doubt that everyone or even most everyone is making it out of this next book alive.
And You say, I have to wait till december? You're cruel... Also, after the whole Stormlight is finished, we will need prequels. I have to know what made people and singers suddenly change sides.
It picks up with Shallan right where the last book ended. It might leave you speculating about this next book though, but more it gives an idea of what she will be doing.
I’d have so much more respect for her if she were. So far she keeps almost doing bad things and then being congratulated for not doing them. The predictable path is that she overcomes the trauma because she’s a gosh darn hero.
After book four I am sure hoping five is good. I can’t stand book 4. I can’t stand shallans character. I have loved all of his works but book four was a stinker.

The Radiants are broken down enough already and have made great progress. Another death is absolutely not needed for the to progress
