This junction is shockingly bad in design. Clearly the persons responsible for its design have an ‘O’ Level in home economics but don’t have a driving licence. This junction is at one end of the M57, the junction at the other end is just as bad. It ends at a roundabout which is controlled by traffic lights which are simply not needed but worse still, default to red against traffic entering this roundabout intending to turn right towards Liverpool. This causes truly massive tailbacks. But that’s not all. The junction on this road with the M62, well you couldn’t make it up just how bad it is, and it’s been developed several times, each time it’s gets worse and a staggering waste of money. This is just one example of just how inept the Council is that covers that area.

Seems like a very easy roundabout to me, just look at the road signs and the road markings and choose the correct lane for your exit.

The main problem in the UK is that drivers can not read a MAP😅

    Sadly it’s bad driving..
The standard of driving from truck drivers is abysmal.
That’s why I’m retiring in 3 weeks time as a trucker myself of 50 years.

A poor design which relies on drivers being familiar with that bit of road. Add in the shockingly low driving standards in Lancashire (not all, but a higher proportion than most places) and you have problems.

Its a huge roundabout and yoy can alwasy fo roynd rhe bend ro start again. I presume incidents are just caused by sat nav drivers with poor observation skills and panic lane switching at switch island? They should get their switches in brain switched up.😅
