I found out recently that there's a manga that continues the story. It focuses more on Toby all grown up, but it does have a few chapter that tell how much jareth misses and loves Sarah. He even said he would raze the labyrinth and rebuild it from scratch. If only she would return. In one of the chaps toby's friend were searching for something in the castle, and found a room decorated with flowers. It was obviously a room jareth had made for Sarah. He even had a music box that played the song he sang for her in the ballroom scene. So Cute💜 sadly they didn't finish the manga yet so I don't know how it ends. 😭

Usually, unless your name is Tim Burton (Betelgeuse/Lydia in _Beetlejuice_, for one example) or Marv Wolfman (Teen Titans' _Judas Contract_ arc with Slade/Terra in it), you couldn't get away with taboo subject matter like that, especially in a family film.
