The softness yet the subtle tenor sends warmth and shivers along your spine (in very good ways). His personality is just so contagious! No wonder Iman fell in love with him. *sigh* Gone too soon. There was a period of time when I was about 4-5 yrs old when I would watch Labyrinth every single day, and I still remember looking forward to it and being excited to see it again every time, and being absolutely bewitched by Bowie's Goblin King. And I still am, more than 30 years later. David Bowie and Labyrinth taught me to seek out what is whimsical, fantastical, or magical in life, and to delight in it.

So true, I was also around that age and he was so confusing to me at the time. He was the bad guy I thought but why was he so fascinating anyway? It took a while before puberty kicked in and I understood, haha. It was also a pretty scary movie , we watched parts from between our fingers round the corner of the kitchen.

And even if you could have a woman play a king then the whole script would have to be changed or the movie would never work it would have major lesbian vibes to it. Horror is my favorite genre hands down and I always have a tough time picking a favorite in that category but time and time again, I will say that Labyrinth is my favorite movie. I always enjoy it, every time I have watched it and I’ve sincerely picked up new things in subsequent viewings 20 years later(not going to claim to be the most observant though).

I heard the original goblin cast was rather disruptive and caused many electrical failures. They also tried to make their own movie franchise. Didn't make nearly as much as Gremlins did.
In a early draft they did after to many onset shenanigans and random problems with props and what not, they decided to hire goblin stunt doubles instead. Worked out in the end. they could dance, magic, dance

Personally, I would've loved it if David had been on "Once Upon A Time" and/or in one of the "Harry Potter" movies. Imagine the awesomeness of Jareth and Rumpelstiltskin together. As for the latter, it's so sad that we lost both him and Alan Rickman within a couple of weeks of each other. (1/26/2022)
