I underestimated the amount of views this would get, eh? If I edited it together sooner, I would've included talk further in the future.
David's voice is incredible both singing and talking
I could absolutely listen to him all day ❤ rip space cowboy
@@cchastee0614 I agree. He's incredible
literally, he has a lovely soothing voice
Yes! 😍😍😍
SERIOUSLY, I DONT THINK THERE IS MUCH BOWIE COULDNT DO. HE WAS SO TALENTED AND FEARLESS. HE WASNT HESITANT TO PUSH BOUNDARIES. HIS MUSIC IS BEAUTIFUL.!
I love that he has his own thoughts on Jareth’s personality and situation as the Goblin King.
I think it's interesting that he thinks the goblins are taking babies without his command. You think he would control the comings and goings from the Aboveground. But I can definitely agree that he's like a big kid.
thats how a true artist operates. he can just imagine this, and delve in to that character.
I think the hair style really fit him. It really gave him that rock star appearance.
No one could ever replace him as the Goblin King
It was so sweet him complimenting Jennifer like that 🥰
I’m glad he acknowledged that she was only 14 and how strange it was .
@@DjDeadHomie I'm glad he nixed the idea of on-screen kiss that was in the script. We did not need that awkwardness and I think it made the film a little better
@@wiredtardis They were supposed to kiss in the movie? How do you know?
@@psychoticriot123 in the novel jareth tries to kiss sarah in the ballroom
@@ilovesleeping136 But isn't the novel stuff not considered cannon?
This movie was my whole childhood I love it I love Bowie he’s so amazing
Just watched it again for the 3rd time today. Its on Netflix's right now.
@@AndrewHarriston lol im watching it right now, on netflix too...that Fire gang song is my fav lol
bloody love labyrinth
@@AndrewHarriston how do i get on your level?
you guys do know its about MK ultra mind control right?
David Bowie's voice is just soo soothing. A voice you could easily fall asleep to, you could never tire or get bored of. The softness yet the subtle tenor sends warmth and shivers along your spine (in very good ways). His personality is just so contagious! No wonder Iman fell in love with him. *sigh* Gone too soon. You will forever be our Goblin King!
Perfection in the confusing form of a human. He will never be gone in my heart.
This attic’s full of memories for me. We spent all our summers by the seaside and in winter at home, by the fire. Frost on the window and snow. Snowballs and making snowmen. One winter I made a really big snowman and he got this scarf for me. You see, he was a real snowman. That winter brought the heaviest snow I’d ever seen. The snow fell steadily all through the night. And when I woke up, the room was filled with light and silence, and I knew then it was to be a magical day.
I crushed so hard on Jareth when I saw that movie as a young teen. It will always have a special place in my heart.
“Wait! I have a much better plan!”
*flails, drops sphere*
playing D&D be like
Here, have a gift
shit, rolled a 1 *accidentally throws gift into their face square between the eyes!*
The songs in Labyrinth are so mesmerizing. There was a period of time when I was about 4-5 yrs old when I would watch Labyrinth every single day, and I still remember looking forward to it and being excited to see it again every time, and being absolutely bewitched by Bowie's Goblin King. And I still am, more than 30 years later. David Bowie and Labyrinth taught me to seek out what is whimsical, fantastical, or magical in life, and to delight in it.
Bowie: "I kicked the baby"
Everyone: "okay, but a sequel"
🤣 I assume he's joking but damn xD
Hahhahhahahah
Yea he was into witchcraft. A cult called golden dawn so I doubt it. Glad I wasn’t the only who caught that.
I guess kicking babies was ok at the time 🤣🤣😂
Well of course he was joking. He said he kicked the damn baby.... and it didn't cry. Yeah.... Joking.... definitely. No way in hell it didn't.
“Slap that baby, make him freeee!”
Gosh I remember watching this movie over and over again bc the goblin king just seemed SO COOL but not only him every character was so just wow
6 year old me just couldn't handle herself
But me 10 years later isn't better I'm still addicted to this masterpiece!
So true, I was also around that age and he was so confusing to me at the time. He was the bad guy I thought but why was he so fascinating anyway? It took a while before puberty kicked in and I understood, haha. It was also a pretty scary movie , we watched parts from between our fingers round the corner of the kitchen.
YA!! mind kontrol is SO COOL!@ i love david bowie because he is like just the best programmer. er i mean artist.
@@_RobBanks in germany we say
Meinungsfreiheit ist nice
Aber fresse halten kostet nichts
I love this movie the most because everything in it is hand made
The puppets, places and props
It's just breath taking and important to acknowledge the creative tream behind it
I dunno what kind of paranoid trip ur on but Bestie
U won't change anything by annoying strangers online
I know the whole movie word by word
Same
and the soundtrack! 💪😍🔥💙🥰😂
Me too. 🤦🏻♂️
My mom showed me this movie. Loved seeing Bowie
I showed it to my daughter.
What a visionary artist that guy was. When I watched this as a child, I could tell he was really special. One of a kind. And Connelly was like a princess. They don't make stuff like that no more. It was real craft and artistry. I admire that.
How can you not like David?! He was amazing. I just recently became of his. May he R.I.P.
Became what? A fan?
@ A disciple
Lol typos!
Reminds me of my childhood still when i see it...magic
RIP what a legend
Today is his Bday. Unfortunately, the anniversary of his passing is only 2 days from now.
Ever wept over the death of someone you never met except through their art?
Yah. That crap is powerful.
Every year my children and I made a special night of watching this movie. Wonderful memories!
I'm 33 love this still my fav film ever
He was amazing I loved this movie and his music. He is definitely missed, and so freaking handsome
Miss Bowie so much
Me too
Always was my favorite childhood film Bowie was a musical genius and a fantastic actor too gone too soon but never once forgotten his music will live on may he R.i.p
Also rest in peace Jim Henson.
David was unique. He would have also been a great part for the Joker
Omggggg 100%%%%
Huh, now there's an idea i never considered.... good idea
Yes! Brilliant.
Better than Leto, that's for sure
@@luiginastro8831 totally!!
This will always be one of my favourite movies✨🧡 who else had or still has a crush on the goblin king cause that would be me
First crush ever. 5-year old me in 1986👵
Yep. From the time I was 5 till now at 36 years old.
He is the reason why I started liking boys in the first place because before then I thought they were icky.
I miss him every day
I had no idea Whitney’s mum Cissy Houston did backing vocals for this film!
“One forgets she’s just 14 years old” knowing the 80’s, please don’t forget that.
Yeah him describing her as quite beautiful was a bit creepy.
it is not a secret he liked them this young
@@RI-lz3zv Didn't say he didn't :P
@@WafflezDay Not defending the guy entirely here, he's done his fair share of messed up stuff but he did refuse to kiss her even though it was in the script for that reason. I do think though if he really wanted to compliment her a simple "she's pretty" would have been enough.
No he didn't mean it like that.
Forever gonna love David Bowie 🫶🏼🙌🏼
Still whach this classic..love seeing my kids enjoy it...wow so happy i saw this lol 😆
What a great Movie, David you are deeply missed ! Thanks for the upload !
never knew chaka khan cissy houston and luther were in this underground video...and David bowie insane
Yes! I thought the same thing.
@@mrsv1823 Quite insane indeed! And Arif Mardin, the producer, is quite simply a genius.
I honestly had the biggest crush on Jareth! I think David Bowie is still a brilliant & gorgeous fella even though he's passed!
I just watched this movie for the gazillionth time and never will I ever find it boring! I can't believe all the great singers he had behind him. I wish this video was longer...because I never, ever am bored listening or watching him....
2021 NICE TOO HEAR HIM TALK ABOUT LABRINTH.
😊Bowie was a mystical mesmerizing character in his time he had a little bit of magic in everything he was a part of!🎉🎉🎉🎉
The eyebrows!
I saw this for the first time about a year after he passed away and I’m sorry I missed out on this film so long.
Bowie was fantastic and the movie would not have been nearly as enjoyable without him. Rip David Bowie the one and only goblin king.
5:24 Nobody gets out of this place without singing the Blues.
I love Labrynth...he was great in it!
it’s hard to realize that he is no longer with us… he was brilliant in life ❤
I know it's David Bowie, but the scene of the actors below the goblins killed me.
this and the dark crystal are true masterpieces. the creativity and characters and storytelling. brilliant. purely brilliant.
Bowie will always be the Goblin King to me.. rock genius or not he is Jareth to me!
Same here when I picture David Bowie I see jareth
Oh! How I wish he had been in the Lord of the rings or even the hobbit. He should have made more movies.
He had a knack for comedy roles. The Linguini Incident is a good example.
Apparently he auditioned or was asked to play elrond, don't know how true that is though.
@@SoulMan2004 Good movie. Nothing like seeing him explaining to the 3 judges Arquette's act lol
@@aryastargirl5593 I did not know this.
@@aryastargirl5593 awh man, Hugo Weaving is a legend obviously... but I could so see Bowie as Elrond now that you mention it
David Bowie’s greatest work I think… amazing
I don't understand English well, but just listening to David Bowie is very nice❤
Yeah he played that part perfectly loved him as Tesla in The Prestige too though that movie is underrated and has quite the cast imo.
My all time favorite! Such an incredible masterpiece! ❤
Love every thing about David Bowie
The world isn’t the same without Henson and Bowie. RIP
He was and will be a legend forever!
Incredible document! What an incredible character he did. Thanks for sharing!!
He’s so beautiful
I LOVE that Bowie was sold by seeing Dark Crystal for the first time and seeing the potential for working on a similar project.
Im so glad they decided on Bowie. I really think this would have been a very different film if it had been Micheal Jackson.
Rest in peace, rockstar~
Originally, Mr. Henson wanted Mick Jagger to star in Labyrinth as Jareth. I'm glad that didn't happen, the movie would have been way to creepy.
@@feywynnightrunner9380 One interesting piece of information I slightly regret to know now, and I am also glad that the creepiness was fenced in by casting DB🙄😬😐
Is that a British accent god he's hot as hell I thought those eyebrows were part of the costume and makeup but nope those were his real eyebrows. Rip here's to a Superb singer and Actor we miss you David Bowie 🌹🕊️🕊️
Horror is my favorite genre hands down and I always have a tough time picking a favorite in that category but time and time again, I will say that Labyrinth is my favorite movie. I always enjoy it, every time I have watched it and I’ve sincerely picked up new things in subsequent viewings 20 years later(not going to claim to be the most observant though).
without bowie, Labyrinth would not be as iconic as it is!
Without Bouuwie there is no labyrynth you twat
God what a great movie
What a genius we were lucky to have for a moment in our life. We truly were lucky to have him.
David Bowie would have been a great Tugger in Cats!
It's so funny because I was thinking the same thing!!
@@taylordowning2533 We hat in the 80ies in the Cats company of Vienna, a great dancer, he was Tugger, and he was a look a like of David Bowie. Same voice, same moves...incredible!
I'm sorry that whole movie was horrid
@@aishahkx123 i am not talking about the movie!!!! I am talking about the original Cast of 1983 in Vienna!!!!!!! And yes, i agree, the movie is a horror. Never saw so ugly cats.
Yeah he would have been perfect for it. He's gorgeous and has the right appeal for the role.
“I kicked it”👀😂
I still miss Jim Henson and Bowie ❤❤
I like David Bowie
I miss him T.T
David Bowie was such a magnificent bastard
he really was
🤝
God yes.
Yes brother.
This was the first time I've fell in love with David Bowie... Watching this then the release of Black Tie, White Noise album documentary on Disney late night.
I miss him so much
He had great potentiality.
I sooo wish laughing gnome was included in Labyrinth!!!! It would have fit perfectly.
Love this flim when i was a kid
I lovE David and I think he is cute
That hair! Wouldn't you just love to stroke it.
"I kicked the baby." That was hysterical, lol. Anyone who took that literally is an idiot. Just sayin.
A whole bunch of people did 😂😂
Wait, they didn't employ real goblins??
I heard the original goblin cast was rather disruptive and caused many electrical failures. They also tried to make their own movie franchise. Didn't make nearly as much as Gremlins did.
In a early draft they did after to many onset shenanigans and random problems with props and what not, they decided to hire goblin stunt doubles instead. Worked out in the end. they could dance, magic, dance
I love this film so much David really is the MVP.
what a legend. rip❤️
I miss how MTV use to be.
Now I miss David again.
My favourite movie of all time!! I’ve watched it well over 1000 times over the years. Never gets old❤
When I was in 8th grade I would walk home from my bus stop and watch this everyday
I'm glad he didn't say he did the movie just so he could buy a new house
Ooof my first real crush.
Gosh, I love this.
One of the greatest characters ever put to film
WAIT--I just realized CHAKA KHAN, CISSY HOUSTON (Whitney’s mother) and LUTHER VANDROSS were background singers on “Underground”!!😮😮
I have his vinyl. 🎉
I know im late but He just confirmed the "This has happened before. Repeatedly" Theory.
Homem maravilhoso...meu amor eterno....
2:50 .... música do filme é uma obra de arte.
How am I 31 with 4 children and on my couch watching labyrinth in 2022
His music on the soundtrack is underrated. "As the World Falls Down" is one of the best pop ballads of the 80s pretty easily. "Underground" is a pretty great song that has some notes of 50s and early 60s rock.
This was and still is my favorite movie I love it
Was the guy ever not smoking? I can always see little whisps of smoke while he's talking and singing
Sixty a day, which he eventually lowered to forty, and twenty while on tour so as not to hurt his vocals. He would later quit entirely when his daughter Lexi was born.
Ohhhh jeeze she was 14! Yikes I had a huge crush on her when I was a kid.
Of course I was about that age then myself so nothing immoral.
But I'd always thought she was older like in her early 20s.
RIP
david bowie: " i poked, slapped, and kicked that baby to make it squeal but she wouldnt so i had to make the noise for her."
