To be clear, you are suggesting that the once every seven months maintenance where he mentioned that one should add distilled water instead electrolyte can be added and it won't affect (by reducing) the lifespan of the battery?
@@ekeretteekpo3004 no, what I meant is, I would prefer after 2-3years of usage and topping with distilled water, discharge every liquid, wash clean it and add 100% electrolyte. It works very well with excellent performance
@@scodevicetech uhm... So, to be clear again, you are suggesting the regular maintenance of topping up with distilled water for as long as that will last the battery's expected performance and, when the performance is noticeably dwindled, to replace the electrolyte and distilled water - basically start from scratch. Is that it?
I really want to understand the charging and discharge voltage of the tubular battery. I mean what voltage is around 100% and what voltage is low voltage for the battery?
Thank you for the video, as usual. 😁 I was actually hoping that you will mention what to do to remedy a situation where the tubular battery gets tilted and the liquid spills. What would be the correct thing to do to remedy the situation? Or, does one just go ahead to use the battery in spite of the liquid having spilled and as long as the level remains above the plates? Or should one top-up and with what should one top it up?
Do you recommend rain water carefully and freshly collected from the rain in place of commercial distilled water? It is in abundance during rainy season. This could be handy when one wants to clean the battery and change electrolyte.
Please the battery i use is carbon long tubular battery, and it has some acid level floaters, after some months the battery life reduced but the floaters are still at green but there are some liquid spilled around them, what could be the possible problem
Respected Sir, your video is very informative and full of knowledge. I want to know that is the Gel battery suitable for use with the home inverter? I want to buy this due to its eco-friendly nature and safty for my 4 years old son. Which battery will be better for me?
Hello sir from Syria Do you recommend buying this battery if it's manufactured 10 months ago? Or is it considerably better if it is produced since less than 3 months?
The shelf life of a lead acid battery without charge is between 5 to 7 months , SLA and SMF battery essentially discharges 3% every month so if it stays longer that 7 months it might start sulfating.
@@smilinsunsmilinsun8056 u said tubular is good for places with high energy surge , or when one wants to use things with high capacity like pumping of water , so am asking where is recommended to use gel batteries..? What kind of project are gel batteries good for ?
@@smilinsunsmilinsun8056 I've never heard anyone actually need a gel battery. And your video just emphasizes that point about all of its disadvantages. It being more expensive, as well as more fragile, as well as giving fewer cycles, mean that there are no clear advantages. Before this video I had heard that you can discharge gel batteries up to a DOD of 70% But in recent years I've been told that that's not the case that it's the same as standard tubular batteries because they are made up of essentially the same components. Which makes sense to me. But if that's the case then I don't know what the advantages are at all. Aside from maybe increasing your bill the launder money.
@@mikemosc3254 well if you can install in an open environmentt where hydrogen gas dissipate freely into the atmosphere and have the skill/time and energy to carry out timely maintainance, then guess Tubular is your go to, but if you live in an apartment with limited space and dont want the risk of hydrogen gas collecting in a room and potentially causing explosion, then GEL is your go to, plus some folks dont have skill, energy or time to constantly maintain and change battery fluid. So each battery type has its advantage depending on your circumstances. Plus when you are comparing costs of a battery, you need to factor in cost of doing the maintainance as well, GEL battery being maintainance free is a use and dispose so the you only have sunk cost so one cost over a 4-5 year period, while tubulur which are just slighly cheaper requires max 7 months maintainance, which would increase the overall cost of owning the batteries again if you need to hire someone to do this for you in that frequency, or if you dont have the skill/time to do it yourself.
