    This was BY FAR the most ambitious project I have taken on thus far. I've clocked in over 100 hours in the making of this video (no playing included in that, literally just editing, scripting, etc.) and I'm not entirely sure how well received it will be. Please let me know what you liked, didn't like and what can be improved because it was really difficult for me to organize this one and I feel like I need some help from you all in making videos like these better in the future. Thank you for hanging in here, we are finally done and can MOVE ON! WOOHOO :D

      I've been watching since episode one and have seen every video you've posted since. From the consistency of your content and the amount of effort you put into Bannerlord is beyond impressive. With this first speedrun done, take a well deserved break man! Don't let yt and Bannerlord get in the way of your health.

      It is an impressive video and I'm staggered just imagining how much work you had to put in it to reach such a high production value. Especially the part after minute 14, with all the animations and sounds to put on the map.
      I can't speak for all your community, but I felt that was a bit too much nonetheless : past a certain point, you can't hide the fact that bannerlord battles get very repetitive especially when it's killing another 800 army miraculously spawned from a 0 fief faction. But I don't know how you could improve that, except by using a lot of moding which is unfortunately not on point yet in bannerlord.

      I can't think of anything substantial, aka, things other than personal preference.
      (Like changing some sounds, or mixing them differently, and who knows if changes I personally would make on that front would be an improvement for anyone other than myself? I don't. )

    Going to watch the vid soon, but had an idea and wanted to share it. Idk if you saw the “pacemaker” mod, but it’s been updated and basically lets you increase the “pace” of the game. Even at base settings it will make the years go by a lot faster.
    I think it would be cool to include this somehow in your next game, that way establishing a family and making sure they live becomes way more important because you only have so much time on your first character. I think it would also make a goal like conquest harder, because you have to deal with your char dying and taking over as a weaker one (presumably). Idk if it’s fitting whatever plans you had in place, but figured it might be fun to see something like a 100 year long campaign for calradia

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have not seen it yet, but I'm very interested :) Yeah that would make more sense. This WC only took 16 years so even if I got married day 1 and had a kid, they wouldn't be ready by the time it's all over haha It would be really cool to have that as part of the game.
      I'm all for adding extra complexity and challenge to the game since I'm at that stage where it's hard to find things that make the campaign a "struggle" which is fun for me.

      @@Strat-Guides Haha no worries, it was insanely informative the way it is and I understand you dont have infinite time on your hands either. Ive never seen such a in depth summary for a whole world conquest. You mostly see the "jean d'arc" type campaigns where a theme is followed and in my opinion isn't as informative as how this campaign series has been. You deserve every single view for sure and happy to see your channel grow in subscribers cause you deserve it for the great content you make. For me personally, I rather have a top quality informative video over quantity. (My 'near-perfect' example would be "Smarter every day")

      @Strat-Guides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I enjoyed making the Joan of Arc series, but it's a bit outside of my wheelhouse to be honest. I'm more of a data and experiment kind of person so I think sticking to the guide-like style with some good gameplay to go with it is what I'll end up doing. I'm thinking about doing a short intro for each episode, but instead of the story in the game it would focus on the person we are using (almost like mini-documentaries, but like 1 minute long with lot's of editing to make it easy to watch). Not sure if that sounds appealing at all?

      I tried to make this into more of a guide since the playlist is already there for those who want to see more details :) I also did a poor job of showing which perks I used, so I wanted to make sure everything was covered!
      Thank you! I really enjoyed the map part. I really with they added in a map mode into the game that did this for us. It's nice to see borders and boundaries, although I think back in these days I think it was much less of a thing.
      For sure, I wish I had recruited more companions to promote. Although thinking about it, voting for peace would have been harder since I would have had more nobles to deal with. Hm... lol

    I also like to put one focus point into medicine for the preventative medicine perk after I farmed enough bandits alone and I just shoot my companions in the head every battle until I get the perk, it helps me fight battles one after the other without having to see autocalc completely destroy my carefully built army and once I finish a siege I can suck the blood off looters to recover at a fast pace

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello! So I'm getting back into bannerlord and I was wondering if there was any changes with this guide in 1.8, and if so what the changes would be. Love your content, it's helping me a lot learn wth I'm doing lol.

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So some things are bit more difficult now, but overall it's significantly easier in 1.8! Renown gain early on is a little slower, morale changes to units don't retreat hardly even and a few of the perks changed. But once you get to the kingdom stage, I think the siege AI is much better on offense making it viable still. I'm going to be finishing up the Vercingetorix campaign on the second channel in a week or two and I'll be redoing this run on there! If my estimations are correct, I can get it done in less than 10 year. We will see!

      @Strat-Guides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Actually it's funny you mentioned that - That's what the next series will be :D I'm adding quite a few extra rules to make it a bit harder, but we will be using the same start as Halcylion's. We won't be able to buy anything though, so no getting an early horse for cheap and all the food has to be from raiding/killing. We will be more restrictive to which troops we can use - nothing that can be recruited from notables (so no regular troops of any kind) which means bandits mostly, some mercenaries and also minor faction units. It should be fun!!

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've done quite a bit of testing already for it and It's certainly possible as described, but you don't have to follow such harsh rules :) I think the biggest thing is to either not slow down with fighting OR keep your troops low enough level to not need to fight all the time. Once you get a full party of tier 4 and 5 units, you pretty much have to feed the beast several times per day, which can really be a mental drain lol

    • @DerDickeVomLande

      @@Strat-Guides Yea im playing with similar rules and im getting stuck money wise. Ive got a party of ~120 dudes with 1,5k in wages and the only real money maker is caravan raiding wich gets a bit boring for me. oh and im having a hard time selling all the loot im getting, i sometimes sell it to caravans but when i defeat them, i get most/ all of it back. :D So im thinking about allowing me to make peace (only if i get money for it) and sell the loot in towns and attack once im done. But its alot of fun overall, i almost cant emagine me playing the "normal" way again anny time soon. :D I hope my english is good enought to understand btw. :D

    First of all: AMAZING JOB... This guide, and the amount of work that you put into it, is absolutely incredible. Thank you for this, sincerely.
    I'm trying to follow in your footsteps, and I was wondering: how do you solo that many enemies at the start? My quiver only has 24 arrows in it, which doesn't seem to be enough to beat any more than about 9-10 looters at a time, even after getting the level 1 bow perk. Do you kill a bunch of them, and then run out of bounds?
    Also, what's your load out? I tried to buy a second quiver, but it looks like I can only equip one at a time. And when I run out of arrows and try and melee the looters from my horse using an axe, they just 2-shot me when I get close. Do you buy a lance or a long two-handed sword?

    • @Strat-Guides
      @Strat-Guides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank for watching! Yeah this was one of my biggest projects. For the arrows, you can just retreat and go back into the battle to replenish your arrows. I always keep 3 sets of arrows to avoid having to do that.
      You can hold up to 3 quivers plus the bow, so no melee weapon and just bow and 3x arrows. When you go to put them in the slots, make sure you drag and drop the arrows into an empty slot and it should work.
      It's pretty hard to melee kill a large group of looters so I recommend not fighting them like that until you have a TON of melee experience. It can be done with any weapon, but it's really hard!

    So I ended up accidentally conquering the world in about 11 years. Basically I reached clan level 3 after doing only blacksmithing and selling from the first single year and had infinite money to recruit Vlandian Champions and Battanian Fian's. Then I ran up to sturgia and conquered a castle and just kinda took like 30 1v1's until their entire Empire was in prison. From there I took every sturgian city with my 160 army stack. I had maxed out my charm so when I became a independent kingdom there was nothing left to do besides recruit all of the sturgian nobles to my side.... Idk what really happened next to be honest. My faction just kinda steam rolled Vlandia and I recruited their nobles as well. The remaining half of the game I coulda been afk because having those 2 factions nobles on my side made the game incredibly balanced in my favor. every battle from there was just a wash

      Thank you! Yeah it took me about 25 hours in total to figure out how to do it, take screen shots, stitch them together, get the name tags up and color in the starting lands. I think I'm going to redo it though, I would like to see more defined borders for each fief so I don't have to manually do it each time. It will take more time, but in the long run it's just a matter of changing color for that layer rather than drawing them manually. I'll probably do a more zoomed in map too, this was was about 4 screenshots tall and 2 or 3 wide if I recall? I would like to get more detail for those campaigns that aren't WC and most of the action will be from a zoomed in perspective.

    Personally I wait for cities to rebel, of course after being able to gain a party of 120+ troops, then buy all their food supplies take out the largest of their rebel vassal or even the leader and instantly siege them. If you're a known warmonger and have executed Raganvad or any other leader or high power noble or vassal the rest of the rebels will be too scared to invade your siege camp even when they out number you. So now with you excess of food and the cities lack of it starve them out, wait till the garrison starves/abandons and boom a weak militia of no more than usually 150 is left. That's mostly recruits and peasants as well, if your troops are decent enough it's honestly better to send them without you, you'll get far less casualties if they're at least level 3 or higher. Also you can force cities to rebel with enough money. Go to a city that's been captured by someone else, IE Sturgian owned Jalmarys. Buy all their food, leave and wait a day. Go back in repeat. Drop food on ground to keep inventory space free, continue buying out the food it'll instantly be low numbers upon the first restock so long as a caravan doesn't plow in. Even so just buy all that food too, keep doing this for a little around a week to two weeks in game and the city will rebel. Everyone needs food. This is how I'm slowly conquering the Storymode without anymore wars asides when the odd city rebels. A bit nightmarish to maintain 7 cities without any armies but also not too ad when you're not at war with anyone. Trying to get a rogue clan victory or as close to one as I can get!

    Making another attempt to get Calradia conquered by a faction of my choice. Tried being a vassal under all factions now going for a different approach which so far is going well. I am an Imperial mercenary who helps the Imperial factions retain their Imperial territory against the non-imperial factions. I started with Northern Empire but have not worked for them since. Mostly work with Western Empire but signed up with the Southern Empire to defend Amprela against a Sturgian Army which was a success. Plan is to help the Imperial factions out until someone wins the civil war then join them to conquer what is still not in Imperial hands. By the looks of it unsurprisingly that is going to be the Southern Empire. They have taken the majority of the Khanate and have two extra clans thanks to rebellions. They surround the Khuzait now only a matter of time before they take it all. Currently focusing on keeping Vlandia contained in the West but want to take back Epicrotia after the vassal there defected to Sturgia. At least Dey Rothad joined the Western Empire. We forced them back into Vlandia earlier and now fighting to keep it that way. If everything goes to shit was planning on rallying a new kingdom myself with other Imperial clans but that definitely won't happen.

      I was thinking about this as well - starting at age 50 would not have worked out but I think maybe 30 or 40 would be fine. There were a lot of extra attribute and focus points that were spent on irrelevant categories so I think the build would have been the same in the end (just a little slower to get there). My biggest concern is companions dying in battle since we used them for all intelligence skills. I rarely play with death disabled so it was a little strange getting used to not seeing dead nobles after battle lol

Part of the fun for me is building relationships with the nobles. It really depends on the difficulty you are playing on. On easy mode, you just need strategy and auto-resolve battles, kill all nobles and get the whole map in your name in 5 years. On maximum-difficulty, this becomes exponentially difficult with lords just not wanting to be a part of your kingdom and you having to rely on your 1500 troops most of the time

  • @vamignon
    @vamignon ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This video is quite old by now, so some things might be outdated and more game knowledge be existing already but I'll give some of my observations for a faster run.
    The most important thing is having big fight wins (both in scale and "cleanness" in terms of losses. And to do this you need the optimal army . So no matter what culture you pick you go at Battanian's area, start working on relations with the fian villages and recruit exclusively fians. Until 100-150 units having exclusively fians is the best, afterwards you start adding some elite cavalry from recruiting prisoners or troops after fight. Donate to fiefs or simply throw away every other unit. Make yourself the main INT guy in your party you need high medicine as fast as possible and thats the fastest way to do it. Later on you can reach 275 medicine as well which is game changer and I saw that you failed to do it with companions. To make myself clear here, with this kind of gameplay your losses must be lower than 1 dead unit per 100 kills or so. Any balance fight should have 0 losses (couple injuries are fine, Im talking about deaths). I'd accept a death toll of 5-10 in fights 3 to 1 where I'd get 150+ renown. This minimal losses strat can extend to sieges as well. Break their catapults before going in but dont create any melee siege weapons. Make all your range units stand below the walls in loose formation and they will dismantle most of the enemy troops with 0 losses again. If they end up without ammo too soon, pull back and attack again. If for some reason you are forced to siege while they still have catapults, make your archers stand below their siege weapon so they are all out of range. Never let your army use the default positions they suck. If you execute well all these, its a failproof strat. Even when you are locked in a siege and you see many enemy parties surrounding you it isnt an issue as the AI cant make proper estimate of your real strength and they will attack when they arent strong enough. Well if a huge army with 800+ units come to fight your 150, just run then, not worth trying these odds.
    For reference I was clan tier 4 with multiple fiefs in a year, as tier 4 I had some 280~ renown fights and my best one was a 430 renown city siege, but I was already tier 6 by then.
    In other aspects of the game now,
    Smithing: I'll eventually get my character high enough to get attribute points, but its not worth making him the main smith. Any low level companion with a bit of focus on endurance will do, I used a "the Hawk" who also got to 250 bow, 300 riding 250 athletics by the end of my run, with 9 Endurance. Don't try to force smithing early and specifically avoid crafting, its too slow. Start investing time on it after having at least 5-6 units that can smith (you spouse and companions). Start by smelting the spoils of war from the fight you are doing anyway, by looking at their tier. For each weapon category smelt weapons of a higher tier than what you are trying to unlock, for example smelt tier 3 when you are unlocking the tier 1-2, and save the tier 4+ to smelt them later on. For most weapon categories there are some breakthrough unlocks, that after getting them you can accelerate the procedure by crafting and smelting the specific weapon. Thats the time when its worth to start crafting, and you can literally unlock everything within a couple days of rest then. I find Javs the easier one to focus first, followed by polearms (both for smith exp and easy money). 2H swords takes longer because there are more to unlock.
    Macro early strategy: Recruit fians, beat looters and do random quests and try to get a riding horse for every unit of yours for the footmen on horses bonus. If you are battanian it makes hunting parties much much faster around forests. With scouting 75 perk you have 0 speed penalty in them. When you reach clan tier 1 go and join the side who is currently fighting against the side you are interested in having as allies/yours later on. Improve relations with them while you grow stronger. Tiers 1->2 and 2->3 are extremely fast if you learn to fight properly. When you are working towards 4 it's about the time to start planning for your first fiefs. They should have the same culture as you first of all. There are many ways to go at it, the simpler one is to become a vasal, take them one after they other and because you previously had 0 fiefs and they are your culture you are guarantee to get them basically. After getting so many fiefs that they stop suggesting you for anymore, you can either chill a bit and stabilize your position or if you are ready just leave the kingdom already.
    Some mid game cheese: After creating your kingdom recruit the 2 best families you have already worked your relationships with. With just 2 you can keep getting the new fiefs you like. When you get the third family they will start splitting between them, but if you really want something, you can take back a fief and then give it to yourself as the family who just lost it cant take it again right away. Past that point you can go full throttle and recruit one family after the other... Keep the family heads prisoners while leaving the other members for relationships and focus on taking all the fiefs that a family has before trying to recruit them. Its cheaper and they wont deny you. When the timing is appropriate, make peace with everyone, kick every family from your kingdom, and break it. If you need some time you can stabilize your position again, or create a new kingdom right away because the policies are important. So you take all the fiefs in your name again and you reset wars and kingdom aggression.
    This is long enough already I guess. There are many more details for each of the aforementioned category of course but these cover the basics I think. After that point is about doing more of the same at the best of your ability.

    I loved the time-lapse of the world conquest ! It's so interesting to see the events pan out like that, you have better understanding of how the wars happened, at times precise and calculated but sometimes utter chaos haha~ Well done ! Here's hoping we get some other playthrough like this one in the future. :-)

      That's a great description! At times it was surgical strikes, taking out exactly which fief I wanted to and getting out before they retaliated. But other times it was like being in a moshpit lol
      Thank you! I'm working on the next playthrough already, but I want to get a few episodes recorded and edited before I start releasing them because I'm moving soon and won't have time to do anything for a week or two so I'm hoping to space those out to help bridge the gap :)

    Did they get rid of weapon bonus stats on throwing weapons? I should mention I play on console so idk if it’s different, but I have been creating and destroying weapons for probably about 100 hours and still have not finished all my throwing knife pieces or my dagger pieces for that matter - but I focused on throwing knives first. Everything else is done, and went significantly faster because you could make most classes of items up to level 6. Also, in the past when I was making hewing javelins and harpoons to sell in the early game-
    (this was long after they changed some of the early money making hacks - and they were most profitable per supply item until I got the narrow and regular menavlion heads with the throwing pine shaft in pole arm)
    - and I was getting buffs and rebuffs for a long time.
    Fast forward, and I hadn’t made any in a while to use or sell because I now had better items that cost less and sell for more. So since I had been crafting for so long, I didn’t realize that I would get my two siblings without using a companion slot, so I hadn’t gotten that quest finished yet. I finished it, and I’m crafting them weapons and stocking up for my next companions, and I realized that no matter how many throwing weapons I craft, none of them have buffs or debuffs. My main crafter is 301 smithing and 2 more over 250, so they shouldn’t be getting debuffs, but I’ve done well over 1,000 throwing knives, (6/10 of my saved previous crafted menu each time), at least 100 javelins just this time around, and I’m going to do throwing axes tonight but I noticed during crafting orders they had no bonuses. Everything else is still giving buffs, but they seem to be less frequent than it was before. I’m wondering if they ran a patch I’m not aware of. Also, I’d love it if they would add tier 5 items for all weapon pieces in all classes instead of limiting some to 3 or 4. (Throwing knives can’t get above 3 for blades for example).
    If you read this long, I have a question too - Can you create tier 6 weapons for all types for the most part? I’ve done it with swords/2h swords, pole arms, 2h maces, javelins, 2h axes. Although I have very good 1h axes, throwing axes~, and pretty good 1h maces, I have yet to get above tier 5 with those and still haven’t unlocked all dagger or throwing knives. I don’t make many pikes from the pike menu but I imagine those will be tier 5 max as well.
    (The best moneymakers I’ve found are menavlion with t5 long fanion, throwing shaft - short pine shaft I think, and a cheap iron spear brace for the bottom nets 30k. Narrow menavlion with the same nets about half that, 15.8k or so, but only costs 2 iron and a hardwood instead of a 1 wood, 1 steel, 1 iron). I can get some other weapons worth slightly more, around 35-40k with 1h swords, other 2h pole arms, but they all cost fine steel or Thanaskene steel, and take a lot more pieces of steel to make. I’ll go through all my weapons once I unlock the rest and see what the best moneymakers I can find in the current patch are). There also seems to be a major bug still going on, where every time you load/start up your game, all the buffs on previously crafted weapons disappear. This is good for low level chars trying to sell weapons because it eliminates debuffs too, but it makes crafting suck compared to what it should be - there’s virtually no point in trying to make unique weapons right now and I haven’t heard any indication this is known about much less being worked on.

    9:48 Am I the only on who is to stupid to defeat so many enemies at my own? My earlygame is always a pain because I can't get many kills especially with the shitty weapons and no armor. And then some random arrows defeat me... With that I also waste a lot of money on troops and it takes forever to reach like 20'000. Your balance after one year absolutely threw me off my chair. Its nice seeing that they gave some sandbox settings to the campaign what with the ability to turn off death, as well as death mid game from any general source...though personally I dont mind having death enabled so long as its not from battles...last thing I want is stupid looters or bandits getting a good or lucky rock chuck right into my face and insta-killing me. Shits happened once before (minus the death) and its annoying early game that rocks are more efficient and effective than arrows...and the accuracy of said rocks is ridiculous.
    Generally though the settings they gave are nice. Though early game I play on generally easy settings starting off (cause of the above but also rusty pitchforks piercing all your armor like its a joke)

    Frederick the great was one of the few historical figures that is claimed by the gay community that actually was, pretty obviously, gay.
    This is based off of looking into the question a few years ago. Most of these sorts of claims are flagrant character assassinations of historical figures, but Frederick is the exception to that rule.

    So much work needs to be done the game becomes so unfun later on. You can have 100 characters with armies running around and only you will try to defend settlements or take new ones. The game has such promise but near impossible grind fest of angering boredom trying to win a map. I usually don't even do sieges I start them so my army doesn't suicide itself then I mute the game and watch TH-cam videos till it's over.

      I was trading basically the entire inventory that the town had, so at those volumes it's possible to breeze through to 125. You need to have a ton of pack animals, the riding perk and a ton of money already though so it's not a good starting strategy.

    When you started a war with Aserai you played the Ottoman battle march song “Mehter Marşı” at 16:44 but Ottoman Empire is a Turkic Empire not an Arabic one and Aserai is inspired by real life Arabic kingdoms. If we have to align one kingdom from the game to a real Turkic state it would be the Khuzaits. Great video though.

    I'd like to say- Great video, but I have a suggestion. I feel like you could've made the video more entertaining by simply talking more, I feel like showing the conquering of the world in silence was a slightly wasted opportunity because I think you could've given a lot of entertaining commentary over that. Obviously, it's up to you to choose how you make your videos, and I still loved the video, but if I were to pick a reference for what I'd imagine it'd AmbiguousAmphibian. Ambiguous is a very *special* case for a youtuber, so I don't mean to be exactly like him, but I more so would be referencing how he commentates on the stories of what happens in his playthroughs of games, and I feel like in his videos it does end up giving him a lot of opportunities to make the video more entertaining. Even if you don't go for comedy like he does, I think commentating throughout the recap could add something more to the video/videos.
    Great job and good luck on growing your channel, hope to see you in the millions someday!
