| France bounced back from their defeat of the previous night against the Netherlands, taking down USA in four sets to stay alive in the race for the semifinals of the 2021 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League.
Here's the reaction after the game, from the virtual Mixed Zone:
Thomas Jaeschke (USA): "When you play against France you know you are playing against a good team especially in defence. We did a good job not getting frustrated and continuing to play. The third set could have gone either way - we had our chances, they had theirs, but in the end they won this set and I think it was a kind of turning point of the match. Then we were down kind of immediately in the fourth and we couldn't find our way back, so credit to them."
Benjamin Toniutti (France): "We are happy about this victory, because yesterday we lost 3-2 even if we were leading 2-0, so it's good that we came back today and gained the victory. I think that today we served well, even if they also passed well. We didn't make so many mistakes like we did yesterday, so it was important. I think that our service was a really good thing in our game, also defence, but we have to be better in counter-attack to be more effective. Tomorrow we have the last game of this week against Italy and I hope we will win this game."

Looks like kawika and and TJ have really good chemistry. TJ is eating up those shoots and TJ seems like he plays better under pressure. Dudes a star in the making. Him and sanders should do well together.
TJ has looked so good this tournament. I think he’s playing himself into a starting spot for the Olympics

@@naveen8202 I think Sander is a lock, and I *think* the 2nd outside starter will be between DeFalco and Jaeschke but it seems like DeFalco has been getting all the playing time recently and has looked really good, so I would guess him

Great match for DeFalco. Not so great for Erik Shoji (hard to watch that freeball sail over the net). Against Italy it was Anderson carrying the offense, here it's DeFalco. What's going on with the middle attack ? Seems to be out of sync. Still, good to see the team fought back to even up the score when they were down.

The referee says "through the hands" meaning it touched the block
I think he had every right to protest, as long as it doesn't prolong nor disrupt the flow of the game.
@@heyalexluu right to protest yes. But he is agressive and many similar cases the players got red with this attitude.

I was seen 8 Patry game within 2 years and i see 1 good game maybe its not enought to describe this player but this is my opinion
He's MVP in 2019 European OQT and 2021 CEV Challenge Cup where he bested other world class players especially Ishikawa. So yeah, he sucks.

They are comparing the two because both were the top scorers. And I think - in my opinion - that he is doing great. But each with your opinion 🤙

I think bc this is VNL, not important as olimpics, so coaches are trying young blood
Most of the people on the court are the the bench players for the Olympic roster. They are probably just giving them experience against a strong opponent. Patch will almost certainly not play for the rest of the summer since he didn’t make the Olympic roster.
