Nosferatu's iconic silver locket; symbolism & history of jewelry (2024)
มุมมอง 52314 วันที่ผ่านมา
Absolutely loved the new 2024 remake of the Nosferatu movie! Through out the movie we constantly see this simple heart shaped silver locket worn by Ellen's character, played by Lily Rose Depp. I've made this deep dive on the symbolism seen in the movie through this locket and lilacs. What I feel they represent and the foreshadowing they offer. I will also go into the history of mourning jewelry...

Natural bi colored sapphire gemstones are very rare.Blue and purple are very rare..
Hi Dominique, thanks for this extremely useful video. I have a light neon greenish yellow tourmaline that IGI certified as Paraiba, however the origin is not mentioned and no, it doesn't have any shade of blue at all in it. Its a super tiny 0.49 carat stone. lol. How much do you think thats worth in the market now?
@hazelfashionfilms i would recommend having it appraised. Unfortunately I don't give estimates over the internet like this as stones really need to be seen under magnifying glass to give an estimate
Is a one carat sapphire too small for a man's ring? The stone is brilliant cut, hence deep making it still smaller
@gracesmith5021 what is your ring size? It may be a bit too small bit there are ways to make it appear bigger, like setting it in a bezel or you can add a diamond halo around it to embellish it
@@DominiqueFlux Thanks for the idea! Its for my bf. He is a size 8.
Ok so a size 8 isn't too big, it may be a little bit small but a good bezel should help :) you can always send me an inquiry if you'd like to work together. My emails in the description
I've got a blue tourmaline and it's true Blue.
Truly stunning you re very clever! Where can I buy these? <3
They arr made to order :) you can always send me an email at info@fineandflux.com and I can prepare them for you!

@@DominiqueFlux happy late bday! How old did you turn? I’m turning 26!
@jimmysonglaugh8110 thank you! Happy early birthday :)
Nice video! Are prices ranges in usd?
@niccolopriolo713 our prices are in CAD, so if you are in the USA it is a very good time to buy!
these prices are unbelievable, at least in europe you find much much cheaper, 200- 500$/ct in 3-6ct
It depends on the quality you are buying. At 500/ct for 3ct your stone probably looks like a pebble off the ground 😅
@@DominiqueFlux Well, you'd be suprised it's not. There are yes bad quality stones too, but those sell for 50-150$ pro ct. And when I mean bad quality stone is almost eyeclean blue unheated medium saturation sapphires
I got a 5.4 ct for 400$/ct heated ... a bit of color zoning but doesn't look nec ugly. Also other colors are also cheap, 4.16ct greenish yellow basalt related unheated no inclusions was arround 200$/ct
Amazing video thank you!
You're very welcome, I'm happy you enjoyed it!
How to test rough black diamond at home?
Interesting and informative, but there are rubies coming out of Mozambique that are top quality and easily comparable to Burmese
Do I detect a hint of on-screen chemistry wowow
Yass :)
Thank you guys for this video,i really like it i have a few ones to sell
Love from sri lanka
Avi the Gem Guy: "No way, that's way too high. Gimme your best price, your best price". .... "No. Come on. I'm thinking like half that. Look, there's a lot of these on the market, there's just not a lot of demand right now... Gimme your best price." "OK Mazal!"
@@ganjacat8408BIG Mazal!
Oh, there definitely are dirty sapphires. Instead of $20k per carat they are more like $20 per carat, and some of them can be really neat.
There's a sapphire for everyone, that's why I love them :)
Well done! great explaton on blue sapphires and the stones process.
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful 😊
Still waiting on you Fluxy to make a video on Black Opals. Hope you have a Great Weekend.
Why would I spend more money on natural diamond when lab grown is exactly the same. I'm not trying to flip the jewelry to make a profit. It's not my retirement plan lol what's important is how durable and sparkly it is.
😍👍
Can you please give me your WhatsApp's number
I wish if i could get one of them its really beautiful and please make a video on emerald stone

You didnt mention my two faves! Rhodolite and tsavorite !
Woops! Of course Tsavorites are the best
I am also a garnet collector an yes, garnets defintly need more appreciation. Red ones are more powerfull in colour compared to rubies and tsavorites sparkle more than emeralds. What should you pay attention to when you want to buy blue garnets?
I would say authenticity. Blue garnets are so hard to come by that you want an origin
❤❤❤❤❤

Feldspars are such an underrated gemstone group. It has almost as much variety as Quartz group, but not quite. Quartz and Feldspars are the largest gem groups on Earth. They also make up like 90% of Earth's crust so that's a given. (Gems shown in the video are all Feldspar group gemstones)
I will take them all 🥤🎈🦨
Me too 😎

I have a beautiful art deco style red garnet ring. It's more stunning than rubies in my opinion ❤
Yes well they have a much nicer clarity then rubies, so the overall wow factore is often nicer!
Garnets ! Among my favorite gemstones 😍😍 for me its tsavorite 😁
@@CemCapone67 yesss, out of all the green options out there, tsavorite is my favorite

@@DominiqueFluxthank a lot your reply, really I found in mining(it's my hobby) natural gems, but they are Sapphires 1-14cts natural peaces ♥️🇱🇰
If you put a light pink sapphire, heart shaped, between two small diamonds, do you think that would look nice in a ring? Or do you think a medium colored pink sapphire would look better?
I do like a lighter pink sapphire as I feel it may be easier to wear everyday then a very saturated stone. Are you looking to have the ring made? Lmk if I can help
Lab Grown diamonds aren't going anywhere.
i think people are lying themselves when they think their jewelry are investments. unless we are talking about things in the 200k plus, it has no resale value. unless your stones are truly exquisite in terms of carat or rare origins and amazing colors… not an investment. gold is what 50-100$ a gram. u are not paying for the weight of gold in your jewelry. if you want to invest get stocks. otherwise these are just pretty things to indulge in and wear and look at. even an engagement ring, custom by you, 18k gold, a 2-3 carat natural diamond, probably around 10-15,000$. the resale value is probably in the low thousands. meanwhile for 15,000 you can get about 250 shares of coca cola whihc are stable and growing and have been paying about 3% dividends for the past half century. labs have alot of utility and practicality especially for designers when sampling and prototyping. if someone wants to order a natural they can.
i Think Natural/Mined Diamonds are out, They are Too Expensive ............ My Brother Purchased a 6 Carats Marquise Certified Lab Diamond, F CoIor, VS1 Clarity, ideal Cut For only $1,700 Dollars and He is Very Happy
