Our first look at the High Republic era. There are a many easter eggs in the first two episodes that many who don't follow the novels will miss like the green Jedi Master Vernestra is from the High Republic books which means she's very old. There are also some homage to the MMO game SWTOR.
I wasn't really expecting you to react to this show as soon as you did, but your dedication and hard work with the editing is crazy and really appreciated! Loved both episodes so far and had a lot of fun with this reaction! Can't wait for the next one!
I have been a Star Wars fan for over 35 years now and I’m so happy to see someone’s eyes light up like your’s when they enjoy a show. The negativity surrounding the Acolyte, and the currently many videos trashing it, makes me genuinely sad. The so called fan community has become truly toxic and disrespectful. Not everyone needs to like the same things, but to talk people out of watching something and even insult the ones that do enjoy it, is just absolutely crazy. That’s why videos like this truly lift my spirits. I’m absolutely loving the show so far and can’t wait to see where it’s going to go. Thanks for being a bright spot 😊
lol the fan base has become toxic and disrespectful because every project Disney puts out is shit. If they’re going to disrespect Star Wars fans by destroying everything George Lucas’ and most fans original view of Star Wars was then why should we treat them any differently. Notice how when a genuinely good project gets put out like Andor, the majority of people who watched it rallied behind it and were saying how great the acting, cinematography etc is, just a shame not many watched that show because most Star Wars fans were turned off by all the other shitty projects Disney put out before it
@@spongybananas6967 the thing is: I don’t mind being disrespectful to Disney. Or even when people downright hate a show or movie. Heck, like most fans I hated The Last Jedi too. The thing is though, I would never be disrespectful to someone who has a different opinion than me. There were also fans that loved the Last Jedi. Why on Earth would I attack someone simply because he/she/they like something that I don’t. And that’s the point I was trying to make: the respect is gone. We now have fans that tell other fans they are out of their minds to like something they don’t or even actively tell others to not watch it, simply because they don’t like it. What happened to the old days where there could be a normal discussion about likes and dislikes? These days everyone attacks each other when there is a different point of view to put it in Star Wars terms :) And you say it yourself: people don’t even watch things anymore simply because of the past things that Disney has done. I look it at this way. A favourite television show has good and bad episodes. In every franchise no matter what you are a fan of, there are things one is bound to like and dislike. @@BobCrabtree-ev4rz thanks for the kind words, appreciate it. And it’s exactly that: there is nothing wrong with not liking something. It’s only normal that we don’t all like the same things (life would become pretty boring then lol). But let the people who do enjoy something, enjoy it so to speak. The complete hate train that this show has gotten is completely nuts, and in a lot of ways damages what Star Wars should be about: having fun. I’m only glad I am not in that camp, and let’s be honest here: no matter what one might feel about this series: this week’s lightsaber battle was absolutely amazing 😊
16:46 I love this part because this whole show is about challenging yourself he’s like “I saw her die” but his first words of the show are “your eyes can deceive you”
Something hit me during the Kung Fu fights: this is why Obi-Wan lived as long as he did. When you get right down to it, the Jedi Masters that Mae fought didn't want to hurt her physically or emotionally. Kenobi on the other hand could, when he needed to, flip a switch and become a cold blooded killer. He would end The Situation in as few blows as he needed to. If Mae tried to pick a fight with him he would try to talk her out of it, offer her a drink, use a mind trick, and when those didn't work or she started attacking the other patrons, take one or more of Mae's limbs and drag her to the nearest Police Station to be booked for Felony Assault or something. Kenobi would then proceed to lose exactly no sleep over the incident. Kenobi was of course more than just a deadly fighter, that is what distinguished him from Maul and Vader, but there is a reason his character is based on Kambei and Kyuzo from the Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.
Ever since 77 I've been excited whenever something Star wars came out but was not all that excited for this and I already watched other people's reactions on this so I got a little bit of this already and it just I mean in the beginning of it I'm just like thinking of the Matrix the whole time is what I'm thinking
Great first episode to introduce the story. The fight scene was great. I was suspecting Mae was a split personality at first. They did a good job of creating a lot of confusion and distrust. Enjoyed your reaction to it.
So, I just got done watching the season finale reviews from Angry Joe and Nerdrotic, and to my surprise, I ended up loving the concept of the show, no matter how negative or how biased they were to the Acolyte, tearing it piece by piece, saying it's the worst Star Wars ever, I found it to be super intriguing, so much so, that I had to find a reaction video and yours came up first. I must say, I actually really like the philosophy and ideas behind this story, it is very, very nice and different, especially the single consciousness split by 2 bodies concept. Some of the execution for the show may have been poor, but I really love The Acolyte's storyline for Star Wars.
I finally got around to it, at episode 5. I started not liking it, but some of the story has grown on me. The fight choreography is amazing. It's only 100 years before Palpatine and Vader, Yoda needs to be in this..... But I will be upset if he is. I was really pissed at the opening scene. Spectacular! But definitely a way to make me hate a character. And then follows with making me like the character... didn't want to.. but I get it. Satisfied with the cliché.
Very nice ^^ I have also mostly positive review going out late this week via blog page. I'll also add it to imdb & metacritic websites. Not to rotten tomatoes because reviews in there don't have any weight for people with good views 🙂
There's certainly amazing choreography. Later on, I'm liking how it went, but at first it really angered me that we start by killing a Jedi in a cowardly move, and then are made to believe we're supposed to care for that character... Later finding out it's a different character, but I dislike that emotional manipulation. We get introduced to Osha wanting to hate her. Before finding out it's a different person. And she acts guilty before she properly explains why she's innocent. Very much appreciated the episode three flashback story that gave us the motivation for our characters. One of the best flashback episodes ever.
