Guys, a quick note because I worry the Title was too simplistic and the entire point of the video was missed, which is probably on me because I know it was only said once in the video, but when I say XDefiant is the Spiritual Successor to Titanfall, I don't mean to say it plays/acts/is a replacement for TF2, no game is, just that the spirit of the game, how it takes the COD formula and gives it a new breath of air, is reminiscent of Titanfall's same subversion from the genre.
Not saying that TF2 isn't a masterpiece, just that I don't think a game has captured that same BO2 type of classic COD feeling since Titanfall 2, which went in it's own way and now XDefiant, which has also begun to go in it's own way.
XDefiant is not a replacement for Titanfall 2
    XDefiant + Titanfall 2 = Fantastic COD-Style FPS Games

Truthful Note: On A Game "Reviewer" Or What Your Doing By Trying To Persuade Me That XDefiant Is As Wonderful As BT's And Jack Coopers Wonderful Tale Of Bromance And Sliding On Skyscrapers, Repeating A Point Such As "Cod Can Only Kill Itself" On A Noticeable Scale Like 2:20 Into The Vid, You Are Just Like Cod In Trying To Get That Nostalgia Into People's Mind But It Doesn't Work Or Hit As Hard Because They Will Say To Themselves "Didn't He Just Say That?". But Anyway, Love The Content As This Is The First Vid Of Yours I Have Ever Watched, And On The Positive Side I Like Your Editing Pace And Style That Has The Same Flavor But A Different Texture.

It has far more in common with COD4 than Titanfall 2.

There will never be a succsesor to titanfall because developers will never take a risk like that again. Players are stuck in the past while they parade slide hopping and clamber as "amazing advanced movement" that has been stagnant for almost a decade. Titanfall 2 was peak, its all downhill from there.

I can't agree with this, unfortunately. XDefiant and Titanfall have parallels to each other, certainly, but neither of them look or feel especially like each other. The raison d'tere of both games--why one would want to play them--is very different.
Titanfall is defined almost unilaterally by its movement. Watch any reasonably high level titanfall player and you'll find that the game plays nothing like any other shooter. Everyone is flying around the map at mach 3, slide-hopping and wallkicking everywhere while trying to burst each other down in the few moments of opportunity that they happen to pass by each other. XDefiant is much more like an inbetween of Call of Duty and Team Fortress 2 or Overwatch: a class-based, boots-on-the-ground shooter but with some of the teamwork and ability mechanics of Overwatch. A solid game, certainly, but enjoying one doesn't necessarily translate to enjoying the other. I'm hoping XDefiant does well, I'm rooting for it, but it wouldn't scratch the same itch that Titanfall scratches.

Honestly I also wanted to talk about Titanfall 2 and its relationship with COD players. But, I I haven't played COD so I thought the claims I would have made were biased. Instead I'll talk about this topic in this comment.
Here's my claim. I think titanfall should not have been the COD killer, or at least set up to be one.
No matter how good titanfall was and still is, it did not become popular. Why is that? It's because Titanfall's target audience were COD players. That was a mistake. The COD players did not stick around for too long (my bias against COD players here). They played titanfall as if it was COD - boots on the ground - and got pummeled by the few players who used movement. Hence, when most people reminisce about titanfall it goes along the lines of "that game was great but ultimately it failed because the skill-ceiling was high".
Yet from personal experience, learning Titanfall's movement and gameplay loop didn't take me too long. And I could slightly hold my ground against G100 players. Keep in mind that Titanfall 2 was my second FPS that I ever played, first one was apex (it was free). So clearly the high-skill ceiling isn't the main problem for titanfall 2's player retention. The problem is the Respawn's poor vision on how exactly players should play the game. They wanted Cod players, yet they did not accommodate them with in game Incentives to use movement. How exactly do you make players utilize a game mechanic without making it feel forced? I don't know, I'm not a game dev. But if Respawn somehow made those incentives I believe Titanfall would be in a better position right now.
But this is just me speculating. For all I know, maybe titanfall was doomed from the start by targeting COD players. It's like a curse or something.
I made this in a hurry and didn't come up with counter arguments, so feel free to mention anything that I missed.

Titanfall was mostly doomed because it launched Between Battlefield 1 and Infinite Warfare, really hard for people to jump in on a new thing when there’s two giants in the field. Imagine dropping a souls like right after Elden Ring, it’d kill you right out even if the game was good.

    • @onemanarmyb
      @onemanarmyb 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Buster-McTunder Yeah, people bring this up a lot, but even so, many who did play titanfall did not stay for long. Even when titanfall had a new influx of players every few years, most of those players did not stick around. Right now on xbox there are 2500 daily players.
I believe the sandwiched release did hurt Titanfall's popularity, like you said, but that's not the sole reason.

TITAN FALL 2 WAS TOO HARD that is WHY it failed its not because it was bad or worse than COD.. and it was too much at the same time titan fall 2 wanted be so many things at the same time

Nah titanfall 1 was successful which is the reason why it got a sequel, it’s mostly because it was released right next to bf1 and infinite warfare with modern warfare remastered. Even as a kid I found enjoyment in titanfall 1 and didn’t find it difficult at all
