The hype for Eurovision 2024 has officially started, with EUROVISION SONG CONTEST starting to announce its 2024 contestants, in this video I reacted to JOOST PERFORMING EUROPAPA !

So many of you actually explained the REAL meaning of this song to me in the comments -as a person who lost his father recently, I couldnt have been more affected. I am in TEARS.
I have never felt a personal connection with a Eurovision song this much before, my papa loved eurovision, and a big part of what I do nowadays is to honour him. Wow Netherlands, you really took my heart on this....

It’s a song dedicated to his father who died when he was very young, his mother died soon after his father. He was an orphan very young . His father learned him that the world is without borders and they loved the Eurovision , he told his dad he would be there one day ! And now he his ! An ode to his father !
His father worked with refugees and taught Joost at a young age borders/boundaries are made by humans. If you want to, anything is possible.
This song is a letter to his dad, he is searching in Europe for his father.Joost told last week that sometimes you keep your pain alive. He hopes with this song he can say goodbye to the grief and pain the passing of his father when he was 12, and at 13, when his mother passed away. Joost was raised by his brother.
Happy tunes, sad lyrics throughout. No matter where he goes he can't escape the pain from the loss of his parents. This goes way deeper. This is art.

Joost Klein dedicated this song to his father, who died when he was 12 years old due to cancer. His dad taught him that the world has no actual boundaries. His mother died a year later, when he was 13, due to cardiac arrest. Before his dad passed, Joost was already writing all kinds of stuff and promised one day he was going to go to Eurovision. He has gone through so many challenges in life, and it is a true inspiration to see how he deals with them.

The song is actually a bit sad. As others already stated, he lost his parents at a very young age. There are a lot of double meanings / connections to his parents and surely i am missing something but ill try to name some:
Like the song is called "euro-papa" because papa is dad in dutch.
He is singing that he goes to other places but he feels lonely. He lost everything except time. he is struggeling
He is giving people money but nobody is helping him. He went to mental healthcare but they could not help him.
He is talking about the song Papaoutai from stromae. Papa outai means "dad is here" and the phrase Où t'es? Papa où t'es? means Where are you? Dad where are you? check out the lyrics of that song too :)
He is also mentioning "i wont stop until they say, yes he does that very well" because he is seeking pride from his parents.
The ending is pretty clear but i think he is talking to his dad and his younger him and he tells his dad that he listend to him.
Also the burning picture and burning house stands for him closing that chapter and he wants to move on and dont want to feel the pain anymore. while he was in therapy they used burning stuff to let go the old
