I love your videos Maike, and i can totally relate. I also went through multiple journal hopping in 2024 from a6 to weeks to even b6 size, but this year i have decided to stick with just one and that too A5 size with similar mindset as yours of filling it fully and not giving myself a choice to trying something else. This helps me stick to one journal as i like having all my memories/deco of the year in one place. Thank you for this video and on the similar note i am thinking of covering my A5 journal but not with pre made covers, coz when the journal gets chunky, it is harder to keep it in those covers. So i am excited to see how you are going to create the fabric cover. Plus that fabric is so cute 🥰 would love to see more journal with me videos with you. I love your drawings and how you create your daily pages. Totally my cup of tea❤❤thank uou❤
Oh you're so sweet, thank you for such a lovely comment! I'm kinda sad that I can't just grab one journal (or even two) and flip through all my memories of this year. Everything is soo scattered. And also that is such a hassle to archive.. I mean do I just archive all these almost empty notebooks together? I definitely want to be more streamlined next year. We can do this :) I'll keep you updated on the fabric cover. And I'd be more than happy to film Journal With Me videos, they are quite soothing to film actually.
Oooh, cover it in fabric and let us know how it works. I have only tried covering the hobonichi with paper so far, and I didn’t cover the spine. The paper only covers the front and back, it is not folded over the edges. I used bookbinders tape for the spine. I can still flip the book on it self. It has lasted the whole year. Though I keep my book in a midori codex plastic cover. Fabric sounds exciting.
I will keep you updated on the fabric! That's a good idea to not have the paper go over the spine and use bookbinders tape. I guess I could do a similar thing with the fabric, although right now i'm thinking I'll go over the spine, but dont glue it to the spine, so that the spine stays flexible and the book still opens up flat. I'll definitely test the method on a different notebook first :D
I highlight the day and date in the Weeks with a Tombow and for 2025 the pages are curling. I'm not a fan and a little annoyed by that. Hopefully with use and time it will flatten back out again. I'm also going to be using a Cousin in 2025 for health, budget and scripture writing. I'm very excited to get going. I'm currently using a 2023 Cousin that I abandoned to test and it's going to work perfect!
Oh no, that is very frustrating. So far I've only done those little swatches, so maybe I spoke too soon on being relatively safe... That's great that you were able to test your setup in an abandoned book! I used to be very quick to recycle and get rid of unused notebooks, but have recently noticed how useful it can be, especially since I seem to circle back around to a notebook or a specific size.
Your journals are the best. I wish I could make mine like yours. So is this just like drawing and journaling and the weeks is your actual planner?? I just ordered a weeks today. I’m so excited.
You're so kind, Kavetta! How exciting that you ordered a Weeks! That's such a cute size. Yes, my plan is that the Cousin in my main journal and the Weeks is purely a planner. I'll make a Journal Lineup video soon :)
Thank you for your kind words! I print using a Canon 100 Pro, which I bought back when I needed a printer that could effortlessly handle printing on thick cardstock. I print on sticker paper from onlinelabels.com. The sticker paper I use most often are the "Weatherproof Matte" and the "Clear Matte". I hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions :)

Hi Maike, I love your videos and your style of journaling? How do you print & cut the stickers?
