    This video gave me inspiration and helped organize the thoughts and ideas I had, thank you! ☺

      Oh yay, happy to hear that :) Are you journaling in a Hobonichi Cousin?

      @@MaikeOatley actually I'm journaling in a A6 techo (and sometimes in an old unused cousin avec), but for next year I have bought an A5 avec for a photo oriented journal as well as keeping my techo a6, that’s my excuse for having both next year lol. But I might do some different stuff too in the A5 when I'm feeling like it!

    Hi! 😊 I'm still in the Hobonichi Weeks Mega that I started the year in, but this past week I've been SO tempted to pick up an Avec and end the year in it -- mostly because just about every TH-camr I follow has one, and I think it's starting to influence me! We'll see if I give in... Also -- it makes perfect sense to me that you enjoyed Watership Down (the anthropomorphized animals aspect). Such a beautiful book!

      Hobonichi Weeks is such a cute notebook. So you use yours for memory keeping? If you wanna test out if A5 is at all something for you, you could always cut some loose sheets of paper to size and test out the size first before buying a new notebook :) And yes you're right-anything with anthropomorphic animals I love :)

      @@MaikeOatley I use it for planning and memory keeping, so I'm thinking a larger size won't be too much of a shock. But I did convince myself to wait until January to start. 😅

    This story idea is perfect. I loved it. I tried so many times to do a comic book, but i couldnt. I really enjoy with your drawings. And it would be perfect example for me if you want to share more about your story book.

      Thank you! Yes doing a comic is quite time-consuming and takes a lot of energy. I’m hoping to share updates on the process and progress. Thank you for watching ☺️

    Thanks for sharing this with us! I've heard that a blank page of a B6 is roughly the same size as the ''usable'' space on an A5 hobonichi page (because of the quote at the bottom and the date taking up space at the top) so regardless of what you choose for next year, it'll probably work out well for you!

    • @MaikeOatley
      @MaikeOatley  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yeah I think that's about right with the B6 being roughly the size of usable space on the Hobonichi A5 page. You know, sometimes I don't even notice that the quotes are there, but then other times I get a little frustrated to have paid so much for a notebook and not being able to use that chunk at the bottom.

      @@MaikeOatley I use sticker paper sheets (like for printer) and cut pieces to cover the really big quotes. The others I just cover with washi, even if some ghosting appears. It does mean that my poor A5 hobonichi is a broken-spine chonker by the end of the year though lol

    i think im gonna focus on my hobonichi 5 year next year despite how much i love my avec for daily memory keeping I don't want to keep falling behind on my 5 year, I will also be using a regular notebook for regular journaling and maybe use the hero planner for my tasks etc?

    • @MaikeOatley
      @MaikeOatley  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That sounds like a lovely lineup and very manageable. What's the hero planner? I don't think I've heard that before.

    Wait! What?! I LOVE your last notebook (Hobonichi as well), how do I not know of it? I’ve been looking for one like this A LOT!! Which one is it?!

    • @MaikeOatley
      @MaikeOatley  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it's just called Hobonichi Plain Notebook. I guess they call it plain because it doesn't have all the planner bits in it, but the pages obviously have a grid pattern on it.

    Hello! I'm not familiar with the Hobonichi goodies, but I see the pages look thin and juicy. I would love to try it, but are there any notebooks for journaling with that paper and is not a planner? 😊

      Yes there are quite a few options out there these days and it depends a bit on what notebook size you'd prefer, grid or plain, and what grid size. Let me know if I can help you with recommendations :) But like @camila.marques said, Jetpens is a good place to start.
