    Nobody is ready for Hanabie, they are so much fun to watch. For more Japanese style insanity watch Atarashii Gakko-Pineapple Kryptonite, you won’t be disappointed.

    Hanabie is criminally underrated. You can't go wrong with Hanabie. Every song is this good, but different. If I were going to pick any of their songs, it would be "Our 7 Days War." It is phenomenal. th-cam.com/video/PAjQAwbGnqI/w-d-xo.html

    Great reaction. Pretty much like mine on first hearing (esp. the F...H...)😀.
    Hanabie (pronounced Ha Na Be Ay) lit. Cold Flowers (refering to a sudden cold spell in spring, during the cherry blossom viewing season).
    Matsuri (Blue Hair, gt/clean vo), Hettsu (Purple Hair, ba/backing vo) and Yukina (harsh/clean vo) started as a Maximum the Hormone cover band in high school, with a various drummers as needed. Sae (dr) became a permanent member since 2019.
    All of the tracks on their album 'Girls Reform Manifest' are great.
    I would suggest any of the MV's on their channel, esp. 'Reiwa Dating App Generation', 'L.C.G.' (Lolypop Candy Girl) and their latest 'Neet Game', probably in that order.

      Odo is a great song to begin with. I don't know how much credit Hanabie deserves on that one. Ado is so good and the music is made by incredible vocaloid producers like Deco27. I mostly like Metal but I can listen to Deco27. Hanabie got me into Ado and Deco27.

    Hanabie are my new addiction, they go pretty heavy, but they are so fun at the same time, they really put a bit of color into metal.
    One of my favorites is L.C.G. but you cant go wrong, so just pick any of the recommendations.

    Every single song they do is that good or better. Hanabie is incredible. My personal favorite is either 'Sunrise Miso Soup' or the new song 'Love (something)' Love Ranbu?
    But whatever song you pick you can't go wrong. The music videos are probably more interesting to react to? But their b side tracks are slightly better. Slightly heavier.

    Their entire album Girl's Reform Manifest is really good. It's part on my commute album rotation
    What you should react to? Basically all their MV since they're not that many
    Reiwa Dating Apps Generation (th-cam.com/video/LOs_Th_qyIs/w-d-xo.html) - really nice song and mv from the same album as We Love Sweetws
    Neet Game (th-cam.com/video/PLfZ54FUG5w/w-d-xo.html) - their latest MV
    A really nice metal cover after Odo by Ado: th-cam.com/video/SPSpXzp3tfQ/w-d-xo.html
    Also their older MV are nice too: Envy (th-cam.com/video/nSvhK9U2BXk/w-d-xo.html) and L.C.G (th-cam.com/video/1unAr05MRis/w-d-xo.html)

    Hanabie - Han-ah-bee-ay = Harajukucore = 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Try Reiwa Dating App Generation and then just go down the rabbit hole and do all the MVs. Their only full cover is of Ado and her song ODO - they pretty much appropriated that song. As mentioned, their album “Girl’s Reform Manifest” has been on repeat here for nearly two years - it’s that good. Non-MV tracks to find would be “Want to TIE-UP” and LOVE Ranbu. Both anime related and both just killer tracks.

    Guitar, vocals and composition: Matsuri (blue hair)/ Bass (and overall design): Hettsu/ main vocals (including growls, rap and chipmunks) and lyrics: Yukina/ drums (and broken collar bone presently): Sae . This song is not an exception but their rule: no rules! Really an interesting band musically, and their lyrics are unusual, describing with a very lucid and critic eye their day-to-day life as 20 years old japanese girls (here: sugar addiction and how to get rid of it as you probably guess)

      I love that you pointed out that Hanabie have real things to say in their lyrics. This is NOT fluff...they're as serious lyrically as they are musically - although also NOT serious in the right sort of way. They have a lot of fun.

    Great reaction! I really enjoyed your analysis of my current favourites. These ladies are most definitely unique, and I absolutely love everything about them. Honestly, they do not have any even mediocre songs. So I recommend everything 😂 But in particular, TIME OUT, Envy, L.C.G, Reiwa dating apps generation, and NEET GAME... Gives you a feel for their evolution in this particular order. These songs without MV's deserve some love also, Bukkowasu, Our 7days war, Want to TIE-UP, and Love Ranbu. Thank you for the reaction, and most definitely looking forward to your future Hanabie reactions/analysis. 💎🔥💜 #Harajukucore

    Hanabie are simply unique. You should make a reaction to every music video, all these songs are very different and great, so it's like rediscovering the band each time. I highly recommend L.C.G. This song is a masterpiece of creativity. 🤘❤‍🔥
    I also recommend the Japanese rock band BRATS with their very experimental song Spiderweb. 🕷🕸

    You need to understand that Hanabie is a high school band that grown up a bit and that they have some serious thoughts behind their songs.
    We love sweets is about sugar being so addictive and so bad for you at the same time.
    Sugar is more or less evil. Thats why shy crushes the cake at the end. And that is why she DO NOT eat any when at the sweets table, just shake her head.

    Hanabie (pronounced HAHN-a-bi-ǝ)
    This is what you get when Babymetal and Maximum the Hormone have a love child. They actually started in high school, playing MTH covers. Clearly one of THE new metal bands to watch. Most of their songs are quite pointed, concerning social issues like dating app abuse, drugs, human trafficking, cheating etc. “We Love Sweets” is about having an unhealthy relationship to sugar. Members:
    Vocalist (Harsh, rap)- Yukina
    Guitarist and Clean vocals - Matsuri
    Bassist and backing vocals - Hettsu
    Drums - Sae
    They have published one EP. Their producer is Gaku Taura, who is the drummer for Crystal Lake (another band you should check out). He has his own studio, Soul Japan.
    You have to check out:

    Glad you finally got to this band. "Hanabie." are great. I've finally got their album coming (did a big roundup order of stuff from CDJapan...expected to arrive on the 12th), along with a handful of other CDs and some Blu-Ray live show recordings. Yes, I still buy physical media! No more song recommendations for Hanabie. just yet. Why don't you check out SAISEIGA, Steve? "Ride On" is a good one, and there's a vocal one-take of that by their singer, Regan, as well. I really like her voice.

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still buy physical media too and discovering the Japanese scene with Band-Maid last year set me back quite a bit of money and space with buying well over 100 releases (probably closer to 200) over that timespan. But it is a way for me to support bands that typically don't get that many listeners and a way for me to give back to them for the joy I got from discovering a new market/genres again after having listened to mostly metal (as far as guitar based music goes) for the last 20 years.
      I obviously still love the bands I have listened to over the years, but I also love discovering new styles of music and it was probably a bit too long since I really dove into a genre in full.
      Not sure how long I will stick around in this scene, last time I dove into a new genre only lasted a couple of years that I really listened to Ozric Tentacles a lot, but I don't see myself stopping anytime soon as there is so much interesting music to discover in Japan.

    • @iDEATH
      @iDEATH 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MaartenT I really got back into physical media over the pandemic when my favourite bands couldn't tour, but I still really wanted to support them. Coincidentally, that all started right after I discovered BAND-MAID at the very end of 2019 (between Christmas and New Years, even). Now I can't stop buying those limited edition single press only things. I might need an intervention. lol
      ps, Ozric Tentacles! That takes me back. I was really into ambient and experimental stuff in the 90s. Pretty neat stuff.

    Japanese pronunciation is wrong. The correct name is "HANABI-E". pronounce the "E".

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But not as an standalone E.
      Google translate proncounces it correctly if you set it to Japanese. At least, that's how the members proncounce it themselves.

      I understand what you tried to explain, but English has mutliple ways to pronounce the same letters in contrary to Japanese from what I understand (I only know a small amount of Japanese).
      I am not a native English speaker, but there are multiple ways to pronounce an 'e' in English and that goes for most vowels. The same is true in Dutch to a smaller extend (which is my native language). The word 'ember' has 2 different ways to pronounce the 'e' without saying it like the actual letter 'e' and both of them aren't 100% the correct pronounciation for the 'e' in Hanabie. I couldn't find a good word that has a similar pronounciation for the 'e' in Hanabie. I guess the first 'e' of ember sounds somewhat similar, but not completely. To make it even more fun, the first letter of the word 'ankle' and 'ember' sound very similar, but are different letters.
      Explaining prounounciations is extremely difficult though without knowing the phonetic alphabet (which I don't), especially for non-native speakers. I have tried multiple times (for example with Gacharic Spin) and I have found that just pointing people to google translate set to Japanese (if that sounds correct, which it does for Hanabie and Gacharic Spin) is usually the easiest way.
      So I wasn't trying to say you said it wrong in Japanese, just that saying to pronounce the E might get misunderstood because there are so many ways to say an e in English. I have seen to many people literally say Gotcha Rick Spin because people tried to explain how to pronounce the cha part.

    Hell yeah. There is nothing just 'whatever' about Hanabie :) These ladies rock hard and smart. Very young ladies too, not long out of high school when they (Matsuri/Gt.) wrote this. They don't have a huge back catalog because of their youth but they have a good handful of videos now that are all bangers. I recommend Reiwa Matching Generation next or NEET GAME, which is their newest and kicks ass.
