That was the end of my junior year and the start of my senior year in highschool. Teacher allowed my friends&i to have a break dancing class and it was on🤸♂️🤸♀️
I was a Freshmen in High School, I remember my girlfriend and best friend and his girlfriend went to see "Titanic," the night before we went on a cruise. Yep, can't make that up...

97 was a good year being nothing drastic happened. I was 19 for the majority of it and turned 20 towards the end. My daughter turned 1 and I was in my first full year of service with the TX National Guard.
I entered my freshman year in 97. The summer before school started, my older brother, dad, uncles and cousins spent two weeks whitewater rafting down the Colorado river in the grad canyon. The big news after being off the grid for those two weeks was Mike Tyson biting Holyfield’s ear during their match that summer. Awesome memories

You can definitely see how much more gimmicky commercials got into the 90s VS a good catch line, pitchman or just using the product. These aren't much different from today.

Man, that Taco Bell/Star Wars ad is giving me some serious PTSD flashbacks. I was the closing manager at a Taco Bell half a block from one of the theaters that had the national premier (the Neptune in Seattle, near UW), and OMG. We had lines out the door and down the block in both directions until 4 am both nights that weekend. People were waiting 45 minutes to an hour...for Taco Bell. It was absolutely INSANE. The only thing that ever came close to that level of sheer lunacy was the bar rush on the weekend after finals, and that's like comparing a 10mt nuclear bomb to an M80.
The Jeep commercial where it drives out of the quicksand was always in my mind and thought I dreamt it. Until I finally found it on retro junk 10 years ago!
Ahh man, I started getting choked up seeing some of these but especially the Disney 25th Anniversary one. I immediately thought of my mother who I would always go with as our annual vacation and as I got older started taking her in return.
