    • @CommodoreFan64
      @CommodoreFan64 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Akira is for sure an awesome Anime, I have it on 2 disc imported VCD with the original English dub I got around 99, the Special Edition DVD where they cleaned up the picture, and gave it a new English dub closer to the original Japanese script, and the last Blu-Ray release. I also have a t-shirt in my closet, along with a cloth wall scroll of the poster. I love the original Japanese dialog with subs best, but I have a nostalgic soft spot for the OG English dub on VCD, and that's the one I rewatch the most on my Philips Blu-Ray player that does a very nice upscale, and correct aspect zoom so I'm not left with a tiny picture on my 55 in TV.

    • @CommodoreFan64
      @CommodoreFan64 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cassandrajenkins9095 Aeon Flux was indeed an MTV thing, it first was a short on their really awesome Liquid Television series for short experimental animations, and was also the birthplace for Beavis & Butthead, and Aeon Flux eventually got it's own short lived series, which was eventually going to spawn a full animated movie, and a canceled PS1 game based on the cartoon, but that sadly never happened, and we got saddled with the live action movie, and PS2/Xbox game based on it which where both giant piles of SHIT!!!

I was so cultured and thought deep thoughts, they were popular but I was more than that...I was cool. I was... An idiot lol omg so stupid, so young. Lol

    I missed the original Sci Fi Channel from the 90s (not the dumbed down SyFy crap). Used the watch MST 3K and Saturday Morning Anime which showed all those movies in the ad. That was the first time I've seen Akira and got into proper anime...though I recommend the BluRay version with a much better dub.

    1997, the digital age is on the way... Ads for websites! CGI animated cell phones! I checked out www.scifi.com on the Internet Archive. It's everything you'd hope and expect a 90s site would be. Even has a message board with nerds drooling over 7 of 9. XD
