I played this game, the original game, with my family couple times. Seemed like a fun balanced game. The attackers had the advantage early, but they had to invade fast before the American player could build towers and use their special cards to get more units.
"The rulebook may be somewhat more understandable than other Fantasy Flight Rulebooks' . LMAO. An FF veteran I see and master of the understatement. Super hard to find this FF version now and an easy $150-200+ if you do. It was expensive to begin about $80+ IIRC which is why i did not buy it. The original is easier to find and cheaper $50-60, even though copies are about 35 years old
I bought this game because I like Red Dawn the original movie (the two are just not the same) and I love it. I don't think FFG are going to do a reprint anytime soon so I'm glad I picked it up. The guy who created this game is retired.

I never owned it BITD nor Shogun.I bought both off of ebay and I am glad I did.
