  • Rachel is a teacher who asked her students what they wanted me to 3D model for them in TinkerCAD. Their answer was a Hedgehog.
I'm here to take a small burden off of teachers since this year has been kinda crazy. If you'd like me to model something for your students, send me an email here: geoff.shortsATcuglabs.com

You have to do a sloth and a unicorn.. or maybe a sloth unicorn.. those seem popular now days :P

Sloth unicorn is officially on the list.

Awesome tutorials, well explained, good pace, some great tips - like you only need to be able to make half of something etc.
Really got me thinking about subtractive modeling.
I challenge you to model an upturned human style hand (think dead spider) draped in a handkerchief - only joking (but feel free to take a stab!).

Hey thanks a lot Andrew, it's great to hear that you like the pace and the information I include. I have wondered before if I go to fast or talk too much, so that helps!
Now...as for your challenge. The hand we can do, the kerchief is a whole 'nother story...

@@CUGLabs yeah I figured it's a tricky design, I'd just like a hand draped in a handkerchief model I can print so when mounted it looks like a hand trying to come through the wall/paint!

Geoffrey - have you tried printing this design?
Great design and as usual great explanations.

Hey Cathy! Thanks for the kind words! Haven't printed this but if I did, I'd most likely print it in resin, with Rachel on her nose and I'd print the legs separately.

CUG Labs wish I had access to a resin printer :) but that is a great idea

Hey! I'm a grade 10 student learning this program for my tech design class, we have this one assignment to make whatever we want in tinkercad so I decided to make a model/figure of this one character from a japanese show called Attack on Titan. His name is Eren Yeager. At the moment I've finished what I want so far, just working on the hair. I have a bunch of thinned and strentched out spheres for the hair strands but when I have the shape I want and try to group, it takes forever and it's just been red for the longest time. Is there a better way for me to group?

The hair looks extremely similar to the spikes on the hedgehog^^
