They were literally children in these pictures. Damn ! Makes the knowledge of what they'd eventually go thru all the more harsh. I wonder if someone had told them in 1969 "Hey, if you get regular jobs you'll have long happy lives. But if you do music you'll be at the top, but it'll be over before most of you are even 30 yrs old", would they still do it. Would Ronnie if he knew he was gonna die like he did ? Their entire history is tragic. But all that pain and tragedy gave us music that will last the ages. Classical depts. at colleges will teach Freebird in another 100 years. Every working class White Boy from then till now can relate to every single song Ronnie ever wrote. And we thank you Brother. Thank you for singing to us, about us and for us. RIP
This is one of those songs that sticks to your memory. If it wasn't for this song Ed King would've never joined Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ronnie played this song for him and Ed was hooked. He said that he knew this group had what it took for greatness. He was right only staying with them for a couple of years and left then enter stage left Steve Gaines and the rest was history. If it wasn't for the plane crash what could've really happened to these guys but we'll never know. We got robbed of greatness Long Live Lynyrd Skynyrd. Gone but never forgotten

You and I both know that Lynyrd Skynyrd was spelled different in the beginning. But most fans probably don't know. My point is unless you change your title to the more popular spelling, a lot of people aren't going to get to see this and the YT search doesn't recognize the first spelling as popular or common. I really like this and it's at the top of my Skynyrd and More playlist.

The truth is that R&R, at that time, had ceased to exist 10 years ago, and I dare say that it is unrepeatable and perfect. Although if it weren't for the demarcation line, we wouldn't have seen so many different proposals trying to evoke that genre. If I had to give an opinion, I would say that even if Ronnie didn't want it, the Dixieland influences absorbed by the band are very pronounced and consciously compacted, under a refreshing layer of melodic heavy rock. Although more than just imitating the ALLMAN BROS, perhaps with a couple of listens to Buffalo Springfield, Gram Parson, CCR, Lonnie Mack or Byrds, who were in love with the spiritual side of the U.S.A., it is enough to become a fan and imitator of these influences. . Even if some of them aren't southerners. Probably many artists prefer to see this as a terrain without stylistic and trivial self-management. So what Ronnie was saying is understandable.

And you can call me a liar, but a large part of Lynyrd Skynyrd's identity is already appreciably defined in this first single, they just hardened their style a little... I agree with the influence of Free 🤔 but if I remember correctly, Kussoff and Rogers began to play the "hard rock anthem" style that many bands refer to after the 60s. Although his best work in general is found in "Tons On Sobs" (full of electric blues) I understand that "All Right Now" marked the way for many. Indeed, this apparent hardening must have occurred around 1971.
When this demo was cut on Shade Tree Records , they actually spelled it Lynard Skynard my friend , just like he has it . My Grandmother always said , keep your mouth shut and be assumed a fool , or open it and remove all doubt ✌️✌️✌️
