Really miss RVZ....every song he wrote had a message, moral, or lesson. And every time he sang you felt he was living the lyrics as he sang. True heart and feel!
These Guys were basically all from the Streets of Jacksonville Fla. From Shantytown to Playing the Worlds biggest stages sez it all. No band of that era compared to The Great Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hard to believe their all gone except for Artimus Pyle. God Bless Him and God Bless the Rest of Them. 🙏
If this song doesn’t make you feel good then you must be dead. One of the best Skynyrd two guitar songs out there and Billy Powell is pure genius on the Plano. Even after almost 50 years it still puts a smile on my face
It's hard to believe Billy Powell was nothing ore than their roadie till Ronnie heard him playing piano one day, never realizing he was a classically trained pianist...
You don’t hear it on this video but At the very beginning I heard Ronnie say , This is a song called Every Mothers Son , Every Mothers Son , It’s got a good message to it. He wasn’t. Lying. Again , Allen Collins and Ronnie wrote this tune. I’ve seen and heard there Mothers. That’s where the message comes from. God Bless all Their Mothers. And their Sons. 🙏❤️
Yea Ed King loved Les Paul’s but Gary already had it covered. So Ed bought a Strat to bring his own sound. Ed was gone when the Gimme Back Bullets album was cut. So Allen bought a Strat mainly to do Sweet Home right. He wasn’t used to it.
And Allen. He seems to be the forgotten incredible guitar player. You never ever hear His name at all. People don’t realize either that He was self taught. Same goes for Leon Wilkerson. God Bless them all. 🙏
We've lost all of the originals, which is very sad! Well, I would consider Artimus as an original, but Bob Burns was actually the original. Actually, Rickey Medlocke of the Blackfoot fame played alongside Bob Burns in the beginning then he joined Blackfoot. They were my band along with my buddy's band. We were blessed to see the originals 6 times before the terrible crash! They came to Pensacola and Mobile every tour! I lost my mother in a Car crash around the time of the Skynyrd plane crash as it was the worst time of my life bar none! Skynyrd's crash October 20, 1977, my mom's car crash May 15, 1977. This song had a special meaning to me! Rickey Medlocke played drums from time to time with Skynyrd. Burns was born in Gainesville, Florida, on November 24, 1950. He helped to form Lynyrd Skynyrd in 1964 with Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Larry Junstrom and remained until 1974, although by some accounts he left the band for a while during the early 1970s. Burns played on the band's early recordings, but on the album Skynyrd's First and... Last, a collection of early demos made in Muscle Shoals, the drum parts of some songs recorded in 1971 were played by Rickey Medlocke. That album also contains songs recorded in 1972 which feature Burns on drums, suggesting that Burns left the band in 1971 and had returned by 1972. During a brief period in the early 1970s, Medlocke occasionally played alongside Burns on drums for live shows, a two-drummer lineup similar to The Allman Brothers Band.
Anybody know of another live version of this song this seems to be the only live version of this I can find...it's such a great song kinda along the lines of "Simple Man" and I love Ronnie's vocal on it
I could never find another live version of this. To me this tune is a real tear jerker. I lost My Mom a couple of Years ago. If I need a couple of minutes to just think about My Mom , this is the Video I plug in. Miss and Love You Mother. Your Son. ❤️🙏
I'm definitely falling big time lately. Hopefully an equally impactful rise will make this all worth it. Beautiful song as usual from Ronnie and the boys.
They were so so beautiful ..such a great blessing we were blessef with ....ive got some many beautiful life time memories .with their music ..everything they touched turned GOLD AND PLATINUM ❤❤❤❤FLY HIGH BROTHERS...My coworke dated billy powell ....such a beautiful soul ❤
Love the comment by the late Ed King RIP 🪦••• he said if you want to know who Ronnie Van Zant was as a person. Just listen 🎧 to ANY 3 songs that he’s written, and that was who he was.
I never pass up a chance to listen to the Mississippi Kid and his boys! First time I heard them in 73 they became my band. 51 years later that hasn’t changed. They made a city boy a country boy! I miss you guys! RIP fellas your music is still the best!
Really miss RVZ....every song he wrote had a message, moral, or lesson. And every time he sang you felt he was living the lyrics as he sang. True heart and feel!
I totally agree 100%. 👍

The fantastic song
A great song - they need to play it in their concerts
It's hard to believe Billy Powell was nothing ore than their roadie till Ronnie heard him playing piano one day, never realizing he was a classically trained pianist...
A hidden gem indeed.
And to the he said if he was to play Free Bird he'd play it the way he did
He did play it pretty.
This song saved me plus Jesus many, many times ❤

Piano is also fabulous
They don't make 'em like this anymore.
Rest Peacefully Gary Rossington 🌹
Best band of rock
Eeeeh my favourite 😊😊😊
Allen playing a Stratocaster
Yea Ed King loved Les Paul’s but Gary already had it covered. So Ed bought a Strat to bring his own sound. Ed was gone when the Gimme Back Bullets album was cut. So Allen bought a Strat mainly to do Sweet Home right. He wasn’t used to it.
Wonderful!
Ole glory🎉🎉🎉
Ty for all the money
Nice cut
I preferred them this way without a 3rd guitarist , Collins and Rossington were more than enough to shine in this legendary band.
Gimme Back my Bullet
Classic America.
Take Heed
The original band
All is dead now except Artimus and Gary.
And now Artimus Stands alone. God Bless Him. 🙏
Man Skynyrd never did a bad song ever
not one.
You got that right . Every album is a classic
So true... This tune is just another example of their greatness
#truth
And they say zeppelin is the best ever. Personally Some of their songs aren’t my style. Maybe they had a bigger impact but man Skynyrd never missed
I love how Allen will wave the crowd over towards Gary just before his solo. Such a wonderful band. Leon's harmonizing is just perfect, too.
Allen's solo at the end, so beautiful!!! I will love him forever ❤
Me too!
Allen was the BEST
Allen Collins second best solo of all time. It’s simply great.
It’s awesome
Underrated song
Hands down best rendition of this song ever
Ronnie and Allen wrote it.
One of the all time rock bands great song
Allen's guitar tips Ronnie's hat 0:49
They should do a bio pic of this great band
Wish he was still here. RIP Ronnie.
And Allen. He seems to be the forgotten incredible guitar player. You never ever hear His name at all. People don’t realize either that He was self taught. Same goes for Leon Wilkerson. God Bless them all. 🙏
Great southern boys...with great messages in their songs
Some of the crispest video I've seen of Skynyrd.
Cry everytime I watch. What was and shall never be...
Don't politicize a comment on a Lynyrd Skynyrd song. What a moron.
@Chris Calo He can't bring back the dead, everyone is different.
Yup. This has My Mom and all moms written all over it. God Bless all Moms and their Sons.
Miss and love You Ma. 🙏🥲

A great song
Ed King had quit, and they hadn’t found Steve Gaines yet. Things were not looking too good during this time. Soon that would change.
