    Without looking on the data, from my personal experience is better to hold gwp , just for month or two. When it appears market is flooded so price is diving, but if you let most of the lowballs clear out you have pretty stable market. I try to hold it for longer, but only more rare or more sought after sets rise, and its not grate rise. Not for me at least.

    Just don’t sell $20,000 or more in total sales and have 200 transactions on eBay or you’ll be subject to tax filing. I know that’s a lot, but there are people who do sell over $20k with 200+ transactions as part of their business.

    In a way am glad these videos dont get serious traction in terms of views because the more people that start investing in lego the more saturated the market becomes and the more difficult it is to turn a profit on reselling.

    • @BrickBucks
      @BrickBucks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      demand on LEGO is growing faster than the retired market supply, so I really don't think we have anything to worry about right now. In the past year of making videos I haven't seen any evidence that the market is becoming too competitive. Prices are still shooting up like they always have - rising quicker in many cases than they've done in the past

    lego is insane these day, it's the best market i've seen in 7 years. so many people are out now of investing compared to 2015 which was peak. Lego is controlling the production in a better way, we see less clearance has a result. So many sets are produced, and sometimes, they are produced only 6 month. There are plenty retiring soon that have been release in june. Someone gotta work to study the market, to find those sets, and to see which one to hoard, by studying supplies, on ebay bricklink etc. Don't get fool by numbers, sometimes a dude has 300 to sale (... for some reason) and they is only 313 availables. I have been buying rarer sets, and high demands sets since begining, started with 100$, then i've invested couples hundreds then couple of thousand etc. etc.,. easy money

    Great stuff, what do you think of holding onto the adidas gift (mini shoe)?

    • @BrickBucks
      @BrickBucks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      my findings overall on these was that it's inconsistent and even though some can do well, I broadly don't think it's worth holding them long term, so for the Adidas mini shoe, I'd probably sell this Q4. But that's just my opinion - it could do great! The fact that it is Adidas branded adds a new dynamic to it, which could make it more collectible. I just prefer to have more certainty over my picks

    Just got the new Lego Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures gwp and I’m wondering if it will rise over time or will it not. I really like it and would rather keep it sealed and keep it right now and MaYbE sell it later, but if I have to sell it right now to get a better profit then I’ll rather keep it

    I got the Christmas tree set for Christmas 2019 thanks to ordering my Christmas gifts over the double vip for black Friday week in 2019 and I would rather had built the Christmas tree then immediately resell it. Now I have 2 Amelia Earheat sets new in box in my collection and I am thinking of holding either 1 or both of them for a few years then reselling them I will probably make them the start of my sealed lego museum that my mom and I have started.

    Great video Shane, very helpful advice, to sell or hold GWP's has been a really annoying dilemma for me, , think I will sell most quickly in future and hold the occasional one which is ultra cool, I missed out on the HP Monster notebook but I am certain that will pass £100 once the supplies dwindle, I am hopeful the Charles Dickens will prove a good hold as I have several of those

    Thanks for the content. Some questions: do you think that lego investing is significantly different to do in USA thank in Europe? I see that lego prices are different, especially in post-holidays periods. And for the viable markets? If I sell a set in Europe I will have a different market than USA, in terms of reach of people and interests. What do you think about this?

    • @BrickBucks
      @BrickBucks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, thanks for watching. The markets are different, and prices you can source at and sell at will be a bit different, but overall it still works very well in Europe and I talk to tons of sellers who are doing it successfully in various different countries across Europe. It definitely works well there 👍

    A great topic for discussion Shane, thanks for a great analysis with somewhat limited data. The big difference in the last 18 months since the pandemic started is that Lego made a concerted effort to produce more GWP's, and extend the promo periods from 1 or 2 weeks, to mostly 4 to 8 weeks since larger supplies were meeting demand according to a Lego employee. This was largely due to the fact, that on most sets there was a shortage due to Covid last year, and so they decided to have less sales in late November and December in the Lego stores, but have more gwps for a longer period of time.. That's why gwps from 2018, and 2019 have done better, such as the Mini Diagon Alley, the 100 Store minifigure, the Ninjago, and Marvel Bricktober packs, & the Christmas Tree. However, recent ones like the Ideas Sailboat Adventure, Amelia Earhart, the Ice Skating Rink, Charles Dickens, & Harry Potter Monster book of Monsters were all available for 1 to 2 months. Me and a friend came to a conclusion that if it's a liscensed gwp, or a holiday gwp, we'll hold onto them to see what happens, but the rest sell immediately.
