Love the hot tub/ theater setup! I’d like to see a yard tour at some point. Looks like you have quite a few past projects it would be fun to see. Also, maybe a preview of things to come?
It's something I'm planning to do soon, but every time I'm working in one area I have to move all of the junk into one of the other areas! Hopefully in a few more weeks the junk will be gone though... I like the preview idea too, I'll give that some thought. Thanks for the idea 👍
Nice setup with pool and screen! Now you need something to put towels and robes. The color changing light is very effective but nothing fo me. I would choose one color and thats it. How is the fence doing? Have a wonderful weekend and a great week!
I've got coat hooks on one of the posts and a stash of towels in the garage next to it. It's a regular feature of our evenings so we've got the system tweaked to perfection 👍 Most of the time we don't have the pool lights on, it's much more relaxing without 😀 The fence is on hold, the tree hasn't had its haircut yet unfortunately. Soon though hopefully... Have a great one 👍
Keep m coming Dave, you're killing it! 1 question though, does the water run over those C profiles you clamped over the edges? Or is there a small bit of water remaining there which will afterwards stay there and maybe move up against the wood again.
Cheers! The C profiles might hold a little water up there but I think with the steeper pitch it will be less of a problem than it was before. I've siliconed all of the edges now so I'm as confident as I can be that the water will stay away from the woodwork. Now I just need some rain to test it out lol
Great video. I am thinking of using sleepers for the uprights on my pergola to keep costs down. Did you double them up next to each other or just used single ones. I’m thinking of using 100x200mm ones at 2.4m length. Thanks in advance.
Thanks! The uprights are 200x200mm fence posts, and the timbers around the top are 100x200mm sleepers. The cross members holding up the roof are 50x200mm. I should say, I don't know if any of that was necessary- I'd never built one before so I took a go big or go home approach lol. It's been solid for 5 years so far though. Hope this helps, good luck with yours 👍
Great refitting.. i have built a similar pergola but was racking my brain how to roof it. What thickness is the polycarbonate? Have you ever found it saggy across its span? Keep up the good work and videos
It's about 10mm thick in total- it's the lightweight conservatory roof stuff. When I first built it the pitch angle was nowhere near steep enough so it would sag a bit as water pooled on the top. I corrected that problem but stopped short of completely redoing it like I have now. The sheets I've put up are about 1 x 3m if that helps? If I'd had problems with them sagging I was going to add more supports underneath the panels but I've never needed them. Hope this helps 👍
Awesome thanks man. That's basically the dimensions I'm working with.. I was initially thinking of trying some sort of soft roof but since I didn't build the pergola with a slope the lack of run off would be an issue. And because this great British weather is so unreliable a hard roof will allow me to make better use all year round... thanks 👍🏾
Sounds like we both had the same issue- there's no pitch on my main beams either, and I also didn't want the polycarbonate sat on top looking ugly from a distance. If I could think of a way to conceal some guttering for the roof I'd be on to a winner, as it is, it just waters the lawn nicely lol
😂"walk of shame" Well done on mending 😜 your ways. Love your vids. I don't normally like music on vids but you're the exception, thanks!
The walk of shame was made worse by the wind nearly making the roof panel into a kite... 😆
Thanks for the kind words 😀
Found your channel from the shed build. Great builds, hope to see more!
Don't worry there's plenty more to come. Thanks for checking it out 👍
Power or jet washing is great, but I raise you sandblasting as most satisfying. Watching since your shed build! Great work! Cant wait to see more.
Ok you win this round lol. I used a sandblaster once a long time ago and it was undeniably brilliant
Agree Kimberly, but vapour (or dry ice) blasting looks like it might give sandblasting a run for top shelf position!
I've not seen that but it sounds cool

nice one, like the beastie boys vibe in the music (1st tune)
Cheers! I was really happy with how the tunes turned out in this one 😀
Nice setup! Great job. Enjoy 👍🙂
Cheers 👍
Good tunes and good work! Epic thumbnail pose
Cheers 👍
Another great video, Dave…👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Lost my comment. I said...youve got a TV in your hot area? 😂. Good work as usual Dave. 👍🏾
Thanks! Yes I have a projector that I can set up, it's cool but I'm usually too lazy to use it lol

@@DIWhy-Dave Thanks for giving me the sizes you used. That will be a great help. Many thanks.
No worries

*battens. Good job.
Thanks 👍
I've just looked back and seen the typo! That will now annoy me forever! (Or at least the next ten minutes)
Ten minutes tops! Don't let it worry you. Move on to the next vid! @@DIWhy-Dave
Inuendos were hilarious
Thanks! I'm relieved someone found it funny other than me! 😁
