    Inquired about pricing from Just Polycarbonate and sadly they don’t ship, which is understandable, but customer service seems to be lacking and they don’t seem to be interested in dealing with small projects such as the one in this vid, so don’t bother inquiring with them.

    • @GlennFrazeeYT

  • @grigspdx
    @grigspdx 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How well does it shade you on hot days? We're currently using shade sails and considering installing tinted polycarbonate like this. I know they block UV, but I want to make sure it feels like you're sitting the shade versus feeling like you're sitting in the sun. What is your experience so far?

    very good, concise video. Two thoughts: 1) why not just raise the front (closest to house) up, thus avoiding having to cut and install a bunch of firring strips? and 2) did you buy the polycarbonate sheets locally? (if so, what supplier?) they seemed to fit perfectly without cutting/trimming which suggests you custom ordered them. No?

    • @GlennFrazeeYT
      @GlennFrazeeYT  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1.) much easier to cut firring strips on an existing pergola
      2.) the vendor I worked with is the one who sponsored the video. Their panels just happened to be the right size.

    How is the water drainage without a gutter? I like this idea, but I don’t want to have water pouring straight down on my lawn and blowing back at me when it’s windy. I currently have a shingles roof with a gutter that I’m looking to replace with something more lightweight that lets more light in.

    • @Xyrium
      @Xyrium 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have to be honest, even with a gutter the falling rain will block back at you. So, while you'd be avoiding the small amount that is hitting the roof, you're not avoiding everything else. We have a similar situation with a gutter, and it's still just one of those things you have to deal with, unless you build four walls, and at that point, a room. :)

      Manufacturers typically recommend a 5-deg (1:12 pitch) for these types of roofs. I went with less since ponding didn't bother me

    OH No...... you have showed us the best pergola , 5 plus stars pergola, high class with all details.... I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
    Now you are covered all the creative, handcrafts wood cross lines, talent installations labor that you created on the pergola that has made not long ago.
    I would cry the whole month if my pergola being covered with roof like you did on yours. (feeling like after 5 hours makeup for the show.... in the last minute .... i cover my face with the whole face mask , only showing the eyes to dance at the show)
