Something to think about which makes this case so much more gruesome, succinylcholine is a pure paralytic, it has no sedative effects. Essentially he died from inability to breath (most people die of hypercapnea) but he might of been conscious and aware at some point. Worse would have been if he was still alive when she lit him on fire. He would have died feeling the fire on his face but paralyzed and unable to do anything. Both scenarios would still have shown no CO or soot in his lungs because he is unable to move air in and out of his lungs. Only he would know what he went through. Such a horrible way to die.

The problem is, it probably happens a ton, for legitimate purposes. There are many, many couples where all of the paperwork is done by one of the pair. Combine that with the legitimate purposes of life insurance and you get a ton of people taking out policies on their spouses for totally legitimate reasons. That being said, it should require the spouse to sign off on it, in person.
I have a life insurance for my husband for 1mill. The amount I brought to the marriage. If I die he gets 1mill. If he dies I do as well. Not everyone are murderers.

I was a switch board operator. When I started, we used the corded switchboards. Then the GTE 1000 CORDLESS PBX SYSTEMS!! Our IBM Selectric now had correction tape in your ink cartridge!! That was a GIFT!! Not having to use the old fashion way of correcting typos. It's just so hard to believe how far we've come in such a short amount of time...I say " Hard to beleive" because I wish it all wasn't true. I want to go back to those glorious days when things were so much more simple... (heavy sigh).🙃 I'm happy and grateful... sometimes I just miss stuff.
I remember this case when I first saw this episode on Forensic Files gosh that was such a long time ago I am getting old people this was a great one and I remember how the court case went she was absolutely disgusting killing her husband just for the money I felt really bad for his daughter and his family...

With all the murders that have taken place shortly after a life insurance policy was taken out it really should be illegal for someone to take out an policy on their spouse
The problem is, it probably happens a ton, for legitimate purposes. There are many, many couples where all of the paperwork is done by one of the pair. Combine that with the legitimate purposes of life insurance and you get a ton of people taking out policies on their spouses for totally legitimate reasons.
That being said, it should require the spouse to sign off on it, in person.

I have a life insurance for my husband for 1mill. The amount I brought to the marriage. If I die he gets 1mill. If he dies I do as well. Not everyone are murderers.
