You got to love that moment where Lu Bu join the battle between two armies just for shit and giggles. He had no purpose being there, or any advantages for going there. He just said "I'm bored. Let's go pick a fight. Oh look a huge battle."
His character design is supreme in this game

Looking back from DW8, Lu Bu's actually the nicest he's ever been here. You could almost call him a good guy, a protagonist...if he hadn't...you know, murdered everybody else in his ending.
6 was the one that got me in the series in the first place. It is far better than 9 will ever be.

Hard disagree, that renbu system is something else...The only thing I'd say would be better than 9 are the character designs and to an extent the music but thats going to be a consistent thing with the franchise.
loved the cutscenes and maps, too bad the weapons and combat needed a little spice

Red Hare looks awesome now in DW9. Finally going back to a normal looking horse and not a Super Saiyan.
kevin reynold DW7 Red Hare looks like shit compared to this. His armour looks like plastic and he doesn't even look like a real horse. He's also way to skinny compared to the version from 6.
ah lu bu's story probably the best part of this game. taking full advange of the 3 way battle system which i really wish would return in dynasty warriors. anytime you saw yuan shu you knew there was a ton of enemies coming you're way. bringing himself and his giant army of generics to fight was the best
At the ending of Hu Lao Gate cutscene on 8:13 Lu Bu has killed all the most powerful enemies in the entire land.
That's why Lu Bu is my favorite character of the entire series.
Lu bu is etched into my mind as one of the most OP people in any game I've ever played the dude is a beast
After getting a HUGE Screen Time for an NPC in DW6, Chen Gong is FINALLY Playable in DW8 XL.
I still have no idea how his weapon work. Especially how he separate it into two and put them back together.
Also I find it hillarious that he lower his voice when talking to Diao Chan 😅

Chen Gong was such a badass in this.. Glad he's finally getting in DW8XL at long last.
this has thus far been my favorite version of Lu Bu, both in look and weapon, no matter how OBVIOUSLY ridiculous either maybe.

The next character to get his upgrade to a Musou Officer should definitely be Chen Gong. He has some of the best lines in this scenario. And in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, he was also pretty cool.

Easiest Job is being Lu Bu's Strategist, cause you never have to plan any thing. Just let Lu Bu wreck Havoc upon the battlefield
And yet, Chen Gong still carefully plans out for Lu Bu. That's commitment and caring for his leader.
What a strategist needs to do when working with Lu Bu is that you need to incorporate his aggressiveness and brashness into your strategies.
Chen Gong still needs to plan his way tbh. So that the officers under Lu Bu can do something. Having Lu Bu just makes everything easier
It’s actually really difficult to support someone like Lu Bu strategically. His might is one thing, but he is arrogant and rash. He’s not a good leader either, since he has such a temper and seldom heeds advice. That’s what led to his downfalls in history.
You can only plan so much if you backup plans could upset your lord and possibly get you executed.

Meng Huo is actually playable on DW6: Empires and Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Special (Dynasty Warriors 6 But For PSP) but only for PSP and only in Japan.
Yea it was definitely Meng Hou though because of where they sit at and they usually stay in their territory, which makes them "never seen before" enemies as they aren't implimented in the game (far as I remember) until I think empires or Xtreme legends
As much as Chen Gong is involved in Lu Bu's story, he should have his own desighn instead of the default one..
I love the fact they were willing to give him so much personality though. Now I can only think of him when I see this default black design

Imo one of the best lu bu because he was just easily a badass and the story was the best story for an character. It was amazing. This was an underrated game but the renbu system wasn’t good. There are a lot more cons than pros
Agreed. The renbu system, lack of varied weapon, and Lu Bu's weapon not being a halberd sucked. His design was top tier though

The first Dynasty Warriors game I played was DW5 :) I hated when he was in the battle, cause I always died :P He became my favorite character the first time I saw him(he was an enemy then) and I remember I got so happy when my brother told me he would be playable later in the game :)

I believe they are trying to make it realistic that Guan Yu had Red Hare at the time of the Battle of Guan Du. As to how Lu Bu allowed that, I have no idea.
No you can't.. I like Lu Bu's weapon in DW 6, hade it as my created warriors weapon in DW 6 Empires. Now he is back to using Halberd in DW 7 and in DW7 Empires
