How about walking on files that have been installed for 20 years? We need to teplaster straw bale wall (part of second floor which is above first floor. Should we use foam, rubber, plywood. We bought this house without thinking about challenges of maintaining this beauty.
Even if you try to pad, you will probably have issues. Concrete tile only lasts about 20 years, just have to be careful and they still will probably break tiles if not trained.
@@oldworldwildona550 Excellent, the roofing system still won't get to 50 years, because the tiles will last longer than the paper, but yes - some will probably break. Trying to spread the weight around with plywood won't help and could actually do more damage.
Please be careful, anything greater than a 6/12 should definitely have additional precautions such as working from toe boards, wearing a harness, working off scaffolding or ladder jacks.
Maybe on the old nailed in tiles, where there is not support at the center of the tile, this is how you walk on stone coated roofs. In HVHZ we use foam at the center of the tiles to create support. The edges break off, because the tiles are not made as well as the old ones and moisture absorption weakens them at the fringes.
do not lie it is not easy at all :)) i tried myself several times to go on the roof and i was in panic how to climb down up is ok but down is verry scary and dangerous :)

others have said to put the feet on the bottom of the tile where the two tiles meet

Sometimes, if they are not installed correctly or are broken.
