Granted, Sonic IS a franchise that has faults, but Minecraft, FNAF, Call of Duty and Fortnite are a few examples of gaming franchises that will always be more over-popular than Sonic the Hedgehog, even to this day. Other than that, in our frank opinion (I used "our" but didn't include you in this category because obviously, Sonic Dash is one of your favorite Sonic games up to the ranks of the original Sonic trilogy for the Sega Genesis, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Sonic Triple Trouble), Sonic Unleashed is closer to the greatest Sonic games of all time up to the ranks of all the other ones I mentioned in this comment.

Sonic 06 was my 1st PS3 game (I played it when it released and I was 2) and I played it until I accidentally broke it while putting it in the console in 2014

I honestly could not play the black knight. When I tried to, my game would keep pausing, even if I didn't press pause. Yes, even when I swung the Wii mote. Before anyone says it's my nunchuck, it's not. I played sonic unleashed for the wii with the wiimote and nunchuck, and it worked just fine there. The game doesn't like me at all
Sonic Unleashed Is probably one of the best sonic games. Sure the Wherhog stages take 20 minutes but the normal Sonic stages are awesome. And the graphics are still good up to this day.

Unleashed however is a fantastic game, yea the werehog was unnecessary, but since it's here i'd like to compliment that they are fun to play and there not "BAD", yea a lot of them can over stay there welcome with some taking as much as 20 mins, but it was still an awesome title, the only real negative I can give this game is the whole collecting sun and moon medals, they were bad.

Why is unleashed and black knight in the honorable mentions? I would understand if it was the wii version of unleashed, but it didn't say wii, apart from that unleashed could arguably be the best game in the series. And also black knight was fun, had a good story, and had one of the best soundtracks.
Sonic unleashed wii is actually superior, No hub-worlds, honing attack is mapped to same button, werehog stages are shorter and finally it’s compatible with the best controller ever the GameCube controller

The werehog levels ruined it for me. The day levels were great, but they were short compared to the awful night levels. Also, chip was annoying as heck.
Ten- Kel I wouldn’t hate them so much if they were shorter, but some were hog stages literally took me about 10 minutes to beat. I wish it were more even between night and day stages, but it seemed there were more night stages than day stages, or it just seemed that way because of how long night stages were compared to day stages.
I disagree with dishonorible mentions. Sonic Unleashed, the Black Knight and Dash are really good (Unleashed is Amazing). Also WHY Sonic Schoolhouse ISN'T ON THIS LIST?!? Also Sonic Fighters is a pretty good game. Shadow the Hedgehog is in my opinion better then Sonic 1 port. In my opinion Sonic Labirynt was way worst then 06, Shadow or Shuffle.

I respect opinions, but I honestly don't get how Sonic Unleased was hated. Soundtracks were awesome, the cutscenes were longer and better (imo) than freakin Generations, and the story made sense! The people did look a bit off, though, but literally Sonic Unleased was an amazing game. I will be grateful that Sonic Adventure Battle 2 for Gamecube wasn't on it.

When I had no taste of games, I played Rise of Lyric. I might have been the only person ever to have genuinely enjoyed the game. I’ve sincerely improved my taste since with Sonic Mania.
This was after 2006, even if it wasn't bad (it wasn't. it was pretty good), the hatred and rage were on a high scale to pretty much ignore any good point. Also, Unleashed day stages were a lot more longer and hard than later games (specifically, Colors, Generations and Forces) Good thing that I find people who find Unleashed not bad minimun.
Sonic Unleashed gets more crap than it deserves, the day stages are really good, and the night stages were great. They had puzzles that were ok and fun combat, pulse a neat leveling system. Also among the best stories of a Sonic game and the only time Sonic's character actually grows.

Jeremiah Briney there are tons and tons and TONS of difficult games that were critical successes. Super Meat Boy, Battletoads, Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels (and a lot of earlier Mario platformers in general), Punch-Out, F-Zero GX, and a lot of the Mortal Kombat games. Gaming communities loved these games, but Sonic Unleased... not really... unless you’re a diehard Sonic fan, that is.
Howling Burd19 a lot of the critics didn’t give sonic unleashed a fair chance, especially since it was the next main stream sonic game after the 06, the game that destroyed sonic’s reputation. So the ambitious decisions of unleashed didn’t sit well with critics. Sonic unleashed actually has a lot of love care and attention put into it. Honestly you don’t need to be a sonic fan to see that this game was meant to be an apology for the atrocity that was 06. Everything from the graphics, to the well written story, hub worlds, music, sprite models, unlock-able treats and even the gameplay (which is debateable for most) were done to the highest quality. It was a phenomenal game with a few minor flaws imo. But people won’t give sonic that credibility irregardless of how well the games do since the stigma of “sonic games are bad” prevents a fair criticism.
Am I the only one who REALLY liked Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)? I think it’s a great game. Yeah, some of the controls are a little inconvenient at times but the plot was kinda cool. Plus, we got to see some of Sonic’s sentimental side and it was really cute watching all that pan out (especially the scene with him and Princess Elise, when the butterfly lands on his nose). I’m actually playing it right now and I’m on the final scene where you have to send Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Silver, Shadow and the robot to find the 7 chaos emeralds. All in all, a quality game. Also, Sonic Unleashed was a great game but the concept was a little tacky on Sega’s part. Don’t even get me started on Sonic and the Black Knight - that was an awesome game and I could talk about it all day.

from what i've heard many times over, the hate is primarily directed towards the werehog sections of the game. aside from the annoying battle music and that they can get somewhat repetitive, i saw nothing wrong with it whatsoever.
the wii and ps2 versions weren't bad ( unleashed looked really good on ps2 regardless of how the graphics weren't at its finest during that time) I hav no idea why unleashed was there it was my all time favourite game along with sonic colours (there's so much more i could say but im going to leave it at that)

I've never played Unleashed, but I have played Black Knight. It's not a... tragedy by any means. In fact, I think it has a couple good qualities. But God dammit. I hate that game. It's one of the few games I've played that I can say I truly _despise,_ and honestly, I'm not 100% sure _why._ :/
Well, They are honorable mentions, Watchmojo just gets info from fans of Sonic. They have honestly never played a Sonic game, They are just a big company that spends so much days working to get tons of lists around. And if there are Sonic fans that disliked Unleashed, They put it in the video.
Come on, Unleashed wasn't THAT bad. Yes, the werehog is kinda meh and doesn't play nearly as well as I'd like him to but it's a decent enough price to pay for a decent game. The daytime stages are AMAZING, the story is good compared to some other games, and the game looks beautiful. Eggman also seems like a legit villain in it and actually posed a threat.
OK, now you're just fucking with us. Yes, Black Knight is on the Wii (Wii games play horribly) and isn't the best, but at least it's better than Secret Rings.

I would understand if it was the wii version of unleashed, but it didn't say wii, apart from that unleashed could arguably be the best game in the series. And also black knight was fun, had a good story, and had one of the best soundtracks.

The werehog levels ruined it for me. The day levels were great, but they were short compared to the awful night levels. Also, chip was annoying as heck.
Ten- Kel I wouldn’t hate them so much if they were shorter, but some were hog stages literally took me about 10 minutes to beat. I wish it were more even between night and day stages, but it seemed there were more night stages than day stages, or it just seemed that way because of how long night stages were compared to day stages.

I respect opinions, but I honestly don't get how Sonic Unleased was hated. Soundtracks were awesome, the cutscenes were longer and better (imo) than freakin Generations, and the story made sense!
The people did look a bit off, though, but literally Sonic Unleased was an amazing game. I will be grateful that Sonic Adventure Battle 2 for Gamecube wasn't on it.

When I had no taste of games, I played Rise of Lyric. I might have been the only person ever to have genuinely enjoyed the game. I’ve sincerely improved my taste since with Sonic Mania.

This was after 2006, even if it wasn't bad (it wasn't. it was pretty good), the hatred and rage were on a high scale to pretty much ignore any good point.
Also, Unleashed day stages were a lot more longer and hard than later games (specifically, Colors, Generations and Forces)
Good thing that I find people who find Unleashed not bad minimun.

Sonic Unleashed gets more crap than it deserves, the day stages are really good, and the night stages were great. They had puzzles that were ok and fun combat, pulse a neat leveling system. Also among the best stories of a Sonic game and the only time Sonic's character actually grows.

Yeah the game is 75% good with the daytime stages and the large hun worlds but those sun and moon emblems and Eggman land almost being an hour long
On the bad list they used footage from the xbox version while the good list used footage from the wii version.

Jeremiah Briney there are tons and tons and TONS of difficult games that were critical successes. Super Meat Boy, Battletoads, Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels (and a lot of earlier Mario platformers in general), Punch-Out, F-Zero GX, and a lot of the Mortal Kombat games. Gaming communities loved these games, but Sonic Unleased... not really... unless you’re a diehard Sonic fan, that is.
Howling Burd19 a lot of the critics didn’t give sonic unleashed a fair chance, especially since it was the next main stream sonic game after the 06, the game that destroyed sonic’s reputation. So the ambitious decisions of unleashed didn’t sit well with critics. Sonic unleashed actually has a lot of love care and attention put into it. Honestly you don’t need to be a sonic fan to see that this game was meant to be an apology for the atrocity that was 06. Everything from the graphics, to the well written story, hub worlds, music, sprite models, unlock-able treats and even the gameplay (which is debateable for most) were done to the highest quality.
It was a phenomenal game with a few minor flaws imo. But people won’t give sonic that credibility irregardless of how well the games do since the stigma of “sonic games are bad” prevents a fair criticism.

Am I the only one who REALLY liked Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)? I think it’s a great game. Yeah, some of the controls are a little inconvenient at times but the plot was kinda cool. Plus, we got to see some of Sonic’s sentimental side and it was really cute watching all that pan out (especially the scene with him and Princess Elise, when the butterfly lands on his nose). I’m actually playing it right now and I’m on the final scene where you have to send Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Silver, Shadow and the robot to find the 7 chaos emeralds. All in all, a quality game. Also, Sonic Unleashed was a great game but the concept was a little tacky on Sega’s part. Don’t even get me started on Sonic and the Black Knight - that was an awesome game and I could talk about it all day.

I've never played Unleashed, but I have played Black Knight. It's not a... tragedy by any means. In fact, I think it has a couple good qualities. But God dammit. I hate that game. It's one of the few games I've played that I can say I truly _despise,_ and honestly, I'm not 100% sure _why._ :/

Come on, Unleashed wasn't THAT bad. Yes, the werehog is kinda meh and doesn't play nearly as well as I'd like him to but it's a decent enough price to pay for a decent game. The daytime stages are AMAZING, the story is good compared to some other games, and the game looks beautiful. Eggman also seems like a legit villain in it and actually posed a threat.
Sonic Dash. Really. It's a mobile game, of course it's going to be bad. For a mobile game though, it was hella fun and addictive.
