Michael had a difficult upbringing . His father was cruel ,abusive, and unapologetic . If Joseph were alive, if he had the chance to go back in time ,I don't think he would've done it differently . Not because he was evil but because if it weren't for him ,the Michael Jackson we know and love would not have existed . It's a hard pill to swallow, but even when Michael was asked about his father in an interview ,he described him as a 'genius'.
    It's sad but true.
    Nonetheless,
Michael was robbed of his childhood.
It affected him till his death . I'm just happy he spent his last years with his three children. He loved them, and they gave him peace .
They maybe the only people who were not interested in his fame and fortune.
    Rest in peace, MJ .
    You are missed . 💔

. I had an abusive stepmother since I was very little...and i'm also a Virgo like Michael...look, it's like ...the scars are very deep...and it's not just the scars in your soul, it's also the fact that you are now grown up and you have a job and a life and they continue to treat you like you are nothing, speaking to you like you were a looser..They have a way of making you dependent of their approval, but they are never satisfied. You feel guilty, because you seem to not love them enough...It's NOT that you don't forgive, or that you don't appreciate what they did for you!!! NO!!! But they just make it harder by bringing abuse in some way in your relationship... And you just keep on forgiving, and they keep on reminding you, triggering you...it difficult until they kinda strat changing a little...I'm 43 and I had like an "equal parts " conversation with my stepmother THE FIRST TIME in my life last Sunday... This comment is so fucking dumb because the parent is actually supposed to be the protector. Especially if you’re putting your child in showbiz it’s LITERALLY YOUR JOB to protect them and advocate for them. Just look at Zendaya. Her parents truly protected her from the horrors of hollyweird and she’s as successful as she can be, and she’s still sane and mentally healthy. Compared to other child stars like MJ and Britney who’s parents just saw them as a cash cow and put the career before the child’s feelings and mental health. They were absolutely tormented.

Please stop talking. Stop normalizing and justifying abuse! You can instill discipline without instilling fear abuse and intimidation. Nothing wrong with showing compassion but still achieving and teaching greatness. Michael obviously exuded talent beyond compare he didn’t need to be subjected to those heinous actions. He was still a child and children deserve respect kindness and empathy. If you can’t understand that as an adult then you shouldn’t have kids. In the community, Black people are so complacent in abuse against their children and often pass it off as humorous or normal, it’s neither! The children suffer the most by that mentality and that’s the downside of it. It’s not an American dream it’s a nightmare.

Man, Michael Jackson might have one of the most double edged sword life y’all would ever know. On one side, bro be an an icon legend, being so famous that Hollywood couldn’t afford him to be in most movies like they wanted, and every time he performed live half the people would faint just by him doing NOTHING. Yet on the other hand, bro never got a chance to have a normal childhood and when he tried to, he was too old and having him playing with kids looked weird and gave him a bad name. Along with getting dealt with a lot trauma and ptsd from his own dad. I get most of us got somewhat the same treatment, but I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to be so scared of your dad that you pass out or puke…

Let's just cut the childish mahave ... Blah blah blah. Joseph was a great dad. Don't we wish he was eeeverybody's ... REMEMBER MICHAEL WAS HIS SON FIRST EVERY SINCE HE WAS BORN. Weeeeeee didn't Know who Michael was no matter how we say we Looooooo❤ve him... Until he appeared on T.V in 1968... And we only heard stories after that. Michael never showed us bruises Joseph would leave on him or never did they ever say Joseph went to Jail or prison or he was a drunk or he did drugs or he smoked too much ... NONE of that and it was Parents that wouuuuld do all of those things and go to jail smoked and dranked in FRONT of your face ans will still WHIP your A$$$$$ for bull Snot!! Or tell you not to do something they would abd punish you for that and say you're too young and you do as I SAY not as I do? And when they Trashed those hotel.rooms dtopping water balloons on people's heads outta the windows and pillow fights and all kinds of crazy stuff WHAT DID MICHAEL.EVER SAY JOSEPH DONE ABOUT THAT? ... DID THEY GET TORE UP LIKE MOST PARENTS WOULD HAVE DONE? OR DID MICHAEL JUST EXPRESS HOW MUCH FUN THEY HAD? Think about that AND you have to realize back in the day Teaching your children how to behave always showed the results because of what they practiced in the home FIRST...Those Kids were kind and respectful because of how JOSEPH BROUGHT THEM UP. THEY PROBABLY CALLED HIM JOSEPH SO THEY WOULD REALIZE HE WAS MORE THAN JUST DAD!! Think ABOUT what he had to go through STAIR STEP TO KEEP THAT FAMILY TOGETHER. WHEN I GOT MY ASS WHIPPED IT WAS BY BOTH THAT RAISED ME AND MY MOM WHEN SHE HAD ME... BACK IN THE DAY IF YOU HAD A STRICT HOME.. WE ALL GOT IT...HE DIDN' T JUST PICK ON MICHAEL get a LIFE!! And put the stones down!!$ ❤ JOSEPH KNEW WHO MICHAEL WAS WAY BEFORE WE DID AND WHO DO YOU THINK GOT THOSE SHY GUYS ON STAGE AND TO THE TOP? JOSEPH!!! IN THE END that's all your hear is how JOSEPH pushed them on stage and do better than better or don't do it at all... Think if it wasn't for Joseph MICHAEL probably wouldn't have gotten on that stage. He was affaid to do a whole lot of things but he had his DADDY behind him. They all turned out like they did. And I saw Michael celebrate Joseph before and say what a great DAD he was along with what he didn't like about him. BUT you have to take the good with the bad back then. MICHAEL was as sweet and Kind and responsible as he was back then because of his parents and all of his siblings coming up with them minding their positions as well. SO before we complaim about how hard JOSEPH was on MICHAEL and like he said he gurgitated all the way to the bank. Even gave him whatever he deserved. Michael wasn't always an angel people thought. Remember when his mother's jewlery was missing? Well she found out later he was sneaking it out of the house to give it to his teacher. Was that sweeet or awful? 😢😢😢 STILL.HE WAS HUMAN and HE DIDN' T MAKE IT TO THAT STAGE ALONE... ❤❤❤ he had LOVE and patience from others behind that. Put two and two together and remember how you came up. Stop thinking about the little scenes we just caught on tv or the negative parts of their lives which we don't know what was behind the inside of it all. JOSEPH had to face the true Michael as well...did anybody listen to his side of the story? It took two for things to turn out for who we saw on that stage and love now as we do as such a famous person we enjoyed for decades until his death. But he didn't just jump out of the sky and chose to live how he did. REST in Heaven Great father and MJ.. I know he's still getting your props. How they buried their dad together with every single CHILD there to say Good bye. Let you know what was up and he was always there for them. That's one thing they always said about him. They see him cheering them on and remind them they are A JACKSON before they step on that stage... And you see the magic you fell in love with since 1968. 2009 RIP MJ. Amen

No I was not aware of making fun of Mike's nose & name calling. I Don't agree with that . Abuse is never good. "But can we give Joe credit for his role in his family's success ? Nobody's perfect.

You know what, while I was editing this, I had a clip of an interview where Joe laughed at the interviewer when asked about being abusive to Michael. So horrible joe was, but without him, we wouldn't of had michael

@@mjshowandtellwell I mean if I had to talk about that then I would’ve probably given a little awkward laugh too, he was probably uncomfortable talking about it, and his body just made him smile a little from awkwardness. I don’t think he’s a good father still, but glad to see that there’s people like you that know without him, we wouldn’t have Michael.
