  • Learn how to fly from KSDF to KCVG using a RNAV approach. In this video, I show you a few new tricks that I learned such as setting the Landing Altitude and Altimeter barometric pressure.

    It's extremely rare that someone tries and tries a video before uploading it!!! Well done Sir! I learned perfectly how to land a RNAV! Too bad you have stopped to make further videos. I know it is very time consuming! Again thank you and all the best.👍👍👍👍👍

    The first but about the altimeter is exactly what I have been looking for. Perfectly explained

    You need to arm the SB's during the appr checklist, it is not that hard all you do is pull the handle reward just a little and a green light will illuminate just above the ND and it will say SB's armed, that way when the gear touchdown they deploy. And reversers should be stopped at 60kts and manual brake after that. the altitude during the approach should also be set to the published missed approach altitude. Other than that great landing. :)

      @mr.martintorres5804 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the 60kts advice on the reverse thrusters. Personally, I would have used the SBs to drag off speed when lining up the approach rather than lowering the landing gear so soon as Jason did.

    Very informative video. Learned many things. Hopefully I can do this w/o having Zibo Mod. Can't wait to try this myself.
    Since you flew in high visibility conditions, I'm sure many here would have the opinion of disengaging the AP sooner & hand flying the landing. You can't let the plane have all the fun Jason!!!

    Hey Jason, good video just one thing that would add to the realism. When you set the cabin altitude, don’t set it too high. 11,000 feet and your pax might have a little trouble breathing and if someone has weaker lungs, it could cause a medical emergency. From my experience (I don’t fly the 737) we climbed up to FL260 and had set the pressure altitude to 7,000 ft.

    I see the B737 has a fully programmable fms-cdu. Unfortunately, the Xplane 747's fms-cdu is extremely limited. Great video and well explained. Thank you !

    As always, fantastic video! I’ve learned so much from your tutorials. Thanks for clarifying avoiding the APP function for RNAV! Also would you mind listing the type of system and hardware you use. I’m planning on purchasing a new system and want to invest in the proper hardware for the best experience! Thank you!:)

      @@Greazer This is great, thanks! You can't imagine how many threads I read where some said Yes and others said No. So if I understand correct, selecting APP during the RNAV approach puts you in IAN mode which allows LPV minimums if your aircraft is capable. Perhaps with this I wouldn't have been high without changing the Altimeter etc.

    • @Greazer
      @Greazer 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JasonVriends some airlines don't use IAN, for instance real pilot flightdecks2sim his airline dont. They do RNAV with lnav/vnav. IAN calculates the lateral and vertical using computer and GPS. On the PFD you get FAC and G/P. Regarding minimums I *think* you use the lnav/vnav minimums according to this: www.avsim.com/forums/topic/354645-ian-approach-which-minimums-to-use/

    Thanks it was useful. I have a question. I just bought the Yoke and this game so i dont know anything i just flew with no settings, but everything was set in the yoke perfectly and after take off as i stopped pushing the yoke forward to stop increasing the heights, the plane started going up nearly vertically almost every time. ( my hands were not on the Yoke control) Can you explain me or give me any help why its happening?

    • @alexl7989
      @alexl7989 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you pushing forward to go up?

    • @szegfukornel8805
      @szegfukornel8805 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex L i was pushing forward to point the nose to the ground and pulling to point up to the sky so it was perfectly set. But somwhow when i wanted to land and i pushed the joystick forward nothing really happend. As i let it back to neutral position the plane started going up vertically and i dont know why. Maybe the velocity or sth else that blocked but im still triing to figure out.

    • @alexl7989
      @alexl7989 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@szegfukornel8805 Szegfű Kornél My best guess is that it's a trim or C of G issue. Those are the most likely to cause such a violent pitch up. Make sure the aircraft is properly trimmed for landing and the centre of gravity is within limits.

    If you rounded down instead of up for the landing altitude, do you think it would make a difference and prevent you from coming in a little too low.

    • @lalochivafan

      Negative, that’s just for the cabin pressurization/depressurization. It has nothing to do with the approach.

    You can also click on the airport in the map and it will get you the alt setting. In the real world you call ATIS but since X-Plane ATC is such absolute trash, there’s no point in doing it that way.

    • @JasonVriends
