The song is about The Armageddon Steel Legion, an Imperial Guard regiment originating from the planet Armageddon. The planet was host to three major wars, one against Chaos forces lead by the immensely powerful Demon Primarch Angron, and the other two wars were against Orks. The Steel Legions specialize in open skirmish warfare in mechanized armor, such as The mainline Leman Russ battle tank, all the way up to the infamous Baneblade. A big reason The Steel Legion is popular is cause for a time it had one of the coolest human characters in the setting: Commisar Sebastian Yarrick, also known as Old Bale Eye, or The Old Man of Armageddon. He is now dead as of the current events of 40k, likely killed by the previously mentioned Daemon Primarch.
Is it just me, or the music of this song shares a lot of similarities with "Steel Commanders" by Sabaton. If so, then it's such a fucking great tribute, props to you guys!
Mechanized warfare is truly in Armageddon's blood. As soon as an Armageddoner is able to they're put to work building the engines of war that they'll one say ride into battle. By the time they enlist they know their mounts inside and out, and are all too eager to see the armored might they've constructed brought to bear, especially in defense of their homes.
Well, perfect timing with the new balance changes. On the corpses of my guardsmen reinforcements and artillery the mechanized forces of the steel legion rise to fight the armored hosts of the enemies of mankind.
