@Dead Korps In Sunshine's defence he probably could have worded it better if he said, you can respect people and not respect a belief they have as in you don't respect the validity of the belief's truth. So if you like if a person thinks aliens killed JFK, you can say that that's a belief you don't take seriously enough to respect a legitimate idea, and I respect the person who holds that idea. The reverse is also true. You can say for example, "I respect Hitler's artistic opinions, but I don't respect Hitler the person". The point is that ideas and people are sperate things which should each be respected or not respected based on their merits.

The answer of: how would the Fremen fare in 40k? Quite well.
was literally thinking the same thing, Can we just rename Tallarn to Arrakis? Nothing would change, literally nothing at all!
Well, I mean, they're human so they wouldn't have a direct problem with them. Though I imagine Commisars would be liked about as much as in a Krieg/Mordian/Catachan regiment and Inquisitors would suffer an astonishing number of accidents out on the sands.
@@RyanEX2000 Considering how the Fremen legions went cowabunga on the universe in Dune, I could see someone high up in the Imperial Guard having an underling come up to them one day and say,
"Sir, I have the craziest thing to report. These "Fremen" regiments have somehow lost all 154 commissars we've assigned to them to 'hostile action', as well as having commandeered a minor fleet, and taken several dozen systems in the past six months. They are requesting supplies and repair for 'their' ships, and additional targets we may have for them. Your response?"

Tallarn are definitely a badass regiment, sadly we don’t see more of them

EMPRAHU ACKBAR
lmao i died
@Sunshine Skystar i'm siding with dk on this. Everyone deserves atleast the most standard levels of respect
@Dead Korps HERETIC! THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD! DA EMPORAH
@Dead Korps Sounds like Hersey to me traitor.
I can respect these guardsmen.
Efficient and deadly they move like ghosts across the sands. Its wonderous to watch.
I cant stop coming back to this song, with the part that says "that goes through the dunes without- stirring a grain of sand" I cant help but imagine a scene with the tallarn going to the sunset over a dune, and wind and sand covering their foot prints and the corpses of chaos marines. Damn the chorus gives me the chills!, good one string, good one
A text perfect in every way and blessed by the imperator;
in hope of refuge from the skies, we bury ourselves inside
fragile shallow graves
seeking shelter from the fall, press palms against the walls
and pray foundations hold
by fifty days we've taken all, of the shallow grasp of cold
need sunlight's touuch once more
now endless waseland to be hold, besmitten by the sea of sand
our holds, devoid of gold
(everybody run, everybody run, run, run) our shadows meet with dimmer dawns;
(everybody hide, everybody hide, hide, hide) as air threatens to leech life from our souls
(everybody burns, everybody burns, burns, burns) so like the poisens they've exosed;
(everybody dies, everybody dies, dies dies) new ways to kill i'd never known bevore
(wispers in the sand, wispers in the sand; hear them) all soldiers; heed your call to serve
(judement from the sky, judgement from the sky; feel it) the metal finery gives succor to the cause
(scratching at my skin, scratching at my skin; burning) blood paints the sand, bones gild the sand
(burrowed in the dirt, burrowed in the dirt; waiting) the air chars us, like the hope we cursed to hold
take heed of the call of vengeance ; it unfolds,
when sacred ambitions unveil fresh-slit throats
as though sanctioned by the emperor's own goals;
spurned by radiant winds we are gifted our role
(everybody run, everybody run, run, run) confront the forces as they come
(everybody hide, everybody hide, hide, hide) they'll learn the pain of our admonishment
(everybody burns, everybody burns, burns, burns) stalemate invasions are a loss;
(everybody dies, everybody dies, dies dies) you will met the line of sand you will not cross,
(wispers in the sand, wispers in the sand; hear them) what once were soldiers, now are ash
(judement from the sky, judgement from the sky; feel it) unwithered; we are ghosts of sand and glass
(scratching at my skin, scratching at my skin; burning) be swift and silent - as the breeze
(burrowed in the dirt, burrowed in the dirt; waiting) that crosses the dunes without-
stirring a grain of sand
everybody run
everybody run, run, run
wispers in the air,
wispers in the air; hear them
creeping through the sands;
shallow footprints of the raiders
guardians of tallarn;
waiting to inter invaders

during the day, they fight like devils, during the night they move like ghost over the sands, sneaking into enemy camps, slitting their enemies throats in silence as they sleep, not a single noise from their blades and movements, as if the desert is their kingdom, they rule it with deadly finesse and skill, ready to strike, they are the true children of the deserts, for it holds many secrets, but shows them to very few, and those that know them are the children of the deserts who know it's every secret, for the blood stained sands and blades will never share their secrets without a heavy price to pay, for there are non better suited to the desert but those who call it home and will die before they give up it's secrets
