That is overstated. They have one of the top recruiting classes because of quality. Not quantity. While Ohio State has top recruiting classes it's because they pull in 4 and 5 star recruits but they don't pull in enough to fill all their holes or they're able to draw recruits to to the skill positions but struggle to fill the needs on both sides of the line. It doesn't have anything to do with coaching.

Most people know that downs picked Bama over OSU ORIGINALLY. Since Sabin retired Downs went to his originally second choice. And it’s all legal. And many of the best pundits who are well connected said SEC teams have an advantage over Big Ten teams. SEC TEAMS were paying teams forever. And the weather is nicer. Before NIL BIG TEN teams weren’t paying players.

Something needs to be done to stop the crazy spending. Especially for kids that have never played a down of college football. Either put in a salary cap and accept that CFB has become a professional sport or set a standard amount to be paid to all scholarship players. Otherwise, the rich will get richer and everyone else plays for participation trophies.

Everyone knows that Ohio State has struggled on the offensive and defensive lines and that also happens to be where they've struggled to recruit. Recruiting 6 or 7 4 and 5 star receivers and 3 or 4 4 and 5 star QBs tends to skew the grade of the class.

@@xmarkedx Yes will someone please tell me how every team spends 20 million on purchasing their players from the portal.
      This smells of scarlet desperation

Ohio State could be the Colorado of the Big 10 next year. Lots of recruited talent, but not a team. Texas keeps trying this, hasn’t worked.

I suspect Oregon may be able to slap them around in October, in Eugene. Lanning is building a team to bully a squad like OSU's.

Oregon is actually legit while ohio st likes to look pretty like they a contender and got a shot.
