      Thanks for the kind words! Ohio State's one of a few programs with really interesting things happening on both sides of the ball in 2022, so I'll definitely keep an eye out for interesting matchups to break down this season!

    I remember when Kevin Wilson was OU;s OC in 2002. He pretty much brought that power spread run game to OU and mixed it with Leach's Raid passing concepts. Great video as always.

      Bob Stoops is underrated as a scout of offensive coaching talent. His impact on the trajectory of the Big-12 as a spread conference is probably a story worth telling...

      Glad you liked it! Day's an interesting figure in the Kelly/Meyer tree for having the commitment to go all-in on the passing game. Just a totally different way of piecing together those offensive ideas, and I love it.

    Wonderful. I have subscribed. I love analytical sites that give information and astute analyses. Spare me those trash-talking sites (although they can be fun sometimes). I love the respect and acknowledgments of under-the-radar coaching staff like Kevin Wilson, Rich Rod and others. IMO those fine coaches are in their best element as assistants/coordinators --not head coaches.

    • @TheCoordinatorProject
      @TheCoordinatorProject  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you mentioned respect, because on a major level that's what this channel is all about; it's about capturing the legacy of all of the coaches that maybe don't win a championship, but still have their place in football history. Every championship coach stands on the shoulders of giants, and I want to make it clear who it is that's pushed the game forward!

    I'm a hardcore Michigan fan and absolutely despise the Buckeyes, but i still can recognize just how ridiculously good the Buckeye's offense has been in recent years. I would do literally anything for Michigan to adopt this sort of air-raid/spread offensive system! I think spread air-raid offenses are superior to every other current system in college football, and has been for a good 2 plus decades. Whether we're talking Leach at Texas Tech and then Washington State, early to mid 2000's USC, Cal during the early to mid 2000's, Oklahoma State back when they had Zac Robinson and then Weeden at QB, LSU when they had Lamarcus Russel and then a little over decade and a half later when they had Burrow at QB, and above all Oklahoma back during both the Stoops era - as well as the Lincoln Riley era - are the best offenses as far as im concerned - and Ryan Day's Buckeye's offense is right up along side, (or even better in some cases), any of those elite teams. The major reason i think it's so superior, is of course the aggressive passing attack, but also due to constantly trying to stop/limit the passing attack - it allows for a bunch of rushing yardage as well. I think the best of them all was prolly the Stoops and Riley's version at Oklahoma. Not only because it's passing game was phenomenal, but because they also had amazing RB's like Adrian Peterson and many others who racked up alot of yardage as well. Day's offense may not quite be as well balanced as those Sooner teams were, but it's definitely getting there.

    • @braydensoderholm7132
      @braydensoderholm7132 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They honestly really didn’t defend it all that well. When Michigans run game was starting to take over, Ohio state was forced to abandon their own run game because they knew they had to try and score every time they had the ball. In turn, this allowed Michigans pass rush to tee off on them because they knew Ohio State had to pass it at that point.

    • @antoniotrivelloni8191
      @antoniotrivelloni8191 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohio State got too fucking cute with the run game, and by the time they NEEDED to pass, it was too late. Day should have just set the tone early with the deep ball.

    Ryan day would be known as a genuis if only he played burrow for a couple years. How can someone not see a generational talent. Oh yeah, another one of those talents went to Alabama to catch balls

    • @robdobson5419
      @robdobson5419 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      1. Dwayne Haskins was more physically talented than Joe Burrow. That decision has Urban's fingerprints all over it. Haskins beat Michigan as a backup in 2017 and Urban valued that. Plus Burrow had a broken hand that year and lost valuable time.
      2. Jamo was our 3-4 best option. Says a lot about the SEC and Alabama that he was able to transfer and see the field so easily there.

    • @braydensoderholm7132
      @braydensoderholm7132 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Gotta call BS ! If Ryan Day's Offense is evolving it's at a GLACIER PACE. The man isn't creative. As a Coach => he doesn't learn from the past and then make healthy changes. He's done just about everything NOT to get any better.
