- Bharat Pe - one of India's best known unicorn companies saw a war in the last few days. After an internal investigation showed clear wrongdoing - Madhuri Jain was sacked, but that was just the tip of the iceberg ... a bigger investigation was underway against her husband & company cofounder Ashneer Grover. Ashneer tried to stop the probe and moved court - but that move was rejected and on 1st March - Grover resigned from Bharat Pe as MD.
Now in the latest - the Economic Offence Wing has registered an FIR against Ashneer Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain & family members for defrauding Bharat Pe of Rs. 81cr.

I've seen many interviews of big industrialists. The common thing between them is they are polite and humble. And after watching just a one episode of Shark tank I can say this is not the type of motivational show for any entrepreneur that our country needs.
I run a small firm...when I saw shark tank I started looking upto ashnir.. Thanks akash for making this episode

What if the investigation is concluded and Madhuri Jain's name comes out as an innocent? You never know. Sir just saying, i am a CA finalist with 3 years of completed articleship. actually this booking fake expenses to abate income tax and other taxes is something done is almost 80% of big companies. 😅 They call it entry. Yes its illegal but my estimates say if... If these taxes were not abated like they are now, just from these entries like booking false expense in name of commission etc, The govt would be so rich from taxes that it can result in no taxation at all till 10 lakhs per annum for all. Just imagine the magnitude of this tax evasion. Sadly companies pay cuts to politicians and even politicians do these entries and launder money so no one even wants to catch these scams.
Ye iska kuch crores side like karke fake expenses book karna is actually not even a bit surprising for me because chillar h ye. And when i am saying this, big 4 doodh ke dhule hue nahi hai. Bada admi bhi bikta hai. Bas rakam jayada hoti hai. My profession is very respectable and valuable but some.. Actually not some, but a large amount of Chartered accountants in practice(even some including the ones part of council of icai) are involved in this entry scams. And hence bringing a shame to Profession. Strict action is needed otherwise our noble profession for which we study the hell out is going to go down cuz of greed. I have lost the spirit to even continue studying for my final exam after witnessing this hell hole.

We seem to idolize toxicity in India, Ashneer’s behaviour towards the Kotak rep is a reflection of his sense of entitlement and people supporting him if they had a boss like him would quit in no time. There is a difference between being straight forward and honest and humiliating people. Siphoning funds from a “company you built” using fake invoices shows your intentions
