We spend a week boon-docking at Rutherford beach in Creole, Louisiana. We got our toes in the water, a** in the sand as we brave alligators, mosquitoes and even coastal Flooding.

+Doug Nichol The town of Cameron Louisiana is 15 miles to the west of Rutherford beach and has only 400 people but has a store, gas station and small restaurant. Thank you, Carrie will be happy to hear your compliment on the music choices she puts a lot of effort into the editing.😎
Those crab pics were great! That little crab had a “stick” in his “hand”. Looked like he was about to write a letter!🤣 Roodle lovin’ his free time on the beach!🏝

Wow! Great drone video. The crab scene was fantastic. I've heard so much about ProMasters stuck in sand. How did it do and did you lower your tire pressure like I see recommended all the time?
Thank you! That crab was a fun little guy! The promaster DOES NOT do well in sand at all. We are very careful in sanding situations and have traction boards just in case. The main problem is the front-wheel drive just digs. We used to lower our tire pressure in the jeep when we had it but the Promaster's tires are 10 ply commercial rated and it doesn't seem to help much. AND we are super heavy!
@@oneadVANtureatatime By "very careful in sanding situations" do you mean staying on packed sand and very slow starts? I'm asking because I'm planning to try out North Padre Island. Have you had to use the traction boards?
Did you Do a video of your solar install? If not where do you put your battery bank?
+Raymond Driggers Hi Raymond. No we did not. We keep our goal zero 1400 lithium battery under our coach. It has just enough power to get us by and easy enough for me to do all the electrical work myself without hiring a professional. We have 200 watts of solar on the roof which charge surprisingly well.

Not in Louisiana. I lived in Pensacola, FL for 12 years prior to moving here and hung out on the beach there several times a week so I was really spoiled by the sugar white soft sand and turquoise water, so no beach in Mississippi or Louisiana can come close! I used to go to Grand Isle a lot for fishing. There is an ugly beach there and a campsight I think along with mostly houses on stilts but it is great fishing!
That’s the first I’ve seen a crab swipe over his eyes. Beautiful photography with sharp colors. I enjoyed your drone segment and music - it was soothing

I’m not coordinated enough to handle a drone, I’d probably crash it without wind 😄
netty chow it definitely can be challenging! We are always afraid of crashing it and are very mindful of weather when we fly. We did run it into a wind chime😂

I really enjoyed your video. I live about 70 miles east of Rutherford beach and I have a lot of childhood memories of the beach. When I was a kid my dad took us camping there often, we had a lot of good times there. A nice place to go when you want to relax and avoid crowds.
Right on David! I felt like we hit the jackpot finding this stretch of beach. 😀
By the way, I'm 63 now so Rutherford beach has been like that for a long time. I hope you have a chance to go there again .

Great video. Dave is still the A num 1 drone pilot. The weather is pretty crazy. We're planning a gulf trip for next year starting in march. Still unsure about weather that time of year.

Should have gone to Grand Isle. There's more to do and people, and stores etc. It is on opposite side of the state.

Few questions. What time of year? How bad were mosquitoes? Would you go back? If so, what time of year?
Hi Kevin. This was mid-June. We would definitely go back but shoot for April or early May. The no-see-ems were terrible when the wind stopped and the temperatures ended up driving us out. Even at that it was an enjoyable stay. 👍😀
