Nice video, for 19 years I have had no card failures, always delete files on my computer and always format the card in camera.
I have never had a card failure...but I always have two or more camera bodies with me...Cheers
I never had any failures with my sdxc cards, but other problems can happen: you can stumble and drop your camera. For these reasons I have a second body with me. I once had a failure with my GX80/85 in video mode. I had to repair the camera, luckily within the guarentee period. But I am a hobbyist, not a professional like you. In your case a second card slot could help in case of card failures, but only if you can use the two cards simultaneously, one for raw, one for jpgs. Important is, when did you notice that your card didn't work properly. After an event it is a big problem. During the event, you can quickly change your card. I try to have always a brand new card with me, sometimes I forget. Cards are not very expensive. 128 GB cost about 20 €. Absolute security is not possible.
I find it curious that more higher-end single card slot cameras don’t routinely have built-in memory for backup (as is provided in the Ricoh GRIIIx and Hasselblad X2D 100C).
Agree with you but love my GX9. It’s more of an everyday carry for me
Can you make a video about the grain simulation in the GX9?
I honestly don't really use it sorry :)
Not worth the risk for paid work, even if the chance is small. Losing someone's wedding shots, not cool. Panasonic should man up to two card slots in a GX10. Fuji X-Pro has 2 slots, but its another lens mount..
I have had an SD card fail but never, ever a SanDisk even after putting one through the washing machine. There are SD cards and SD cards.
Yes - I'm 100% a SanDisk person now too - My SD card scare was a "Sony"
@@grantrobertdavies only my G9 has two slots and that's an overflow, 64GB+32GB. I've tried but never managed to fill the 64GB, so going bigger is a waste of money. I shot hundreds of photos on the other camera at my niece's recent wedding, barely tickled the card. Hours of movie might fill one. There is a file block size increase above 64GB making bigger cards less storage efficient. The G9 is only specified to 128GB anyway. All my other cameras are single slot. Having two slots is not a big thing.
