Going in with the military theme, I occasionally wear my trench coat that the Army issued me when I was in service. The military has definitely made its impact on the fashion world.
Another great video, Jeff. It is amazing how many men's coats have a military origin. I live in Minnesota. It can get really cold. So, I have coats for fall, winter, and spring. In Minnesota, it is important to have the right outerwear for every season. I have a large collection of vests and sweaters. I like to use vests and sweaters on their own in the spring and fall and for layering in the winter.
Ok ok, the peacoat and overcoat are definitely go-to coats and look good with casual or dress-up, but that camel over red sweater vest is a dope look OG! We know what cold is too, coming from Brick City, Newark, NJ so we’re well acquainted with cold-weather attire, but you take it to a new level! Thanks for the suggestions Sir! Salute to you my Dude!
Great job as always. Being in So Cal, the heavier coats won't work. I tend to wear more bomber jackets, an over coat, blazers and wind breakers during the day. Layers tend to work here since it starts off nice in the day and will get a bit nippy once the sun goes down. I want to get a Camel overcoat. That is truly a statement piece.
Hey Jeff, my stylish man! I agree 100% with your list, and I'd add a heavy-weight leather jacket (in dark brown or black). Timeless style, durability, and insulation all in one. When you travel and the weather is wintery and unpredictable, hands down for a leather jacket. All the best O.G.!
All of em u said except I do the extra long trench coat instead of the pea coat and I do the alpha industries slim fit b15 bomber instead of the shearling. Also add in the sherpa trucker jacket. I recently got this fire puffer jacket from jordan craig with fur hood. Its called the sugar hill puffer. It is dope! I love winter u can really style and profile with the jacket game.
Haha think I've been on the lookout for a shearling jacket since about the day I turned 13! As you say though, definitely not something you can wear in every situation
I have two coats, but they go a long way. 1) Navy duffle coat. I’ve been wearing it since 2009 or so, and I love it. It’s become almost a signature for me. I wear it casually and formally. 2) black parka. This one has a bit of the puffer down element to it too, especially since the fur lining can be removed from the hood, so it’s very versatile and feels like two coats in one. Though these are all good options (pea coats and overcoats are staples). For the Sherpa, I hear you. I’d personally dig having almost a 70’s looking one - sort of a hybrid of Rocky Balboa and Archie Bunker.
Yes I agree banana republic has great options for coats. I got the Italian herringbone topcoat/overcoat In caramel color, it's a little darker than the camel and because of that it is alot more versatile than the camel color. Original price was $400 and I got it on sale for $250. They never shipped it in the time they stated so when I called to see what happened they apologized and gave me $100 dollars off, I was loving it ! Great coat and great deal.
Hey Jeff, In case you haven't gotten your shearling coat yet, a company called Orvis makes one called "the perfect shearling coat" that looks beautiful. It's an aspirational jacket for me too...
Great list for coats defiantly will be copping a couple for this winter. I'm still kind of stuck in the 90's so one of my favorites to rock are the army jackets with the lining for street wear.
My go to coats this winter near New Orleans are my Daniel Cremieux Signature Collection charcoal overcoat and my black leather jacket by Marc New York.
Good choices Jeff, great minds think alike. Just pulled the trigger on that Shearing last week, you right about it nothing getting threw it here in the Windy City. Good work, SALUTE!!!
In my personal winter collection there are: a blue parka, a black leather bomber jacket with sherling inside and a technical overcoat but I'm in search of one overcoat liks yours in the video! The camel one is stunning!
*All hail the FORM of Fashion aka the STYLEST of ALL OGs!!! What's good, bru! Yo, thanks for letting me know about Asos. Got a couple of shirts from there and they were badass!!*
Hi Jeff I just helped make it to 1K Congrats on that number, YES SIR I will TOTALLY AGREE with You with me also being in Philly You will need ever type of style coat that You have on display. Plus also I STILL HAVE my Leather Shearling Bomber style Jacket from the 90"s!!!
thanx again OG.. i may have told you but after turning 40 and getting divorced this year, your channel has become my main stop for cleaning up my "dad in sweatpants" look i'd been rocking for so long.. if i ever bump into you at vanity grand or something, i owe you a drink!
I've got two over coats (above and below the knee for suit wear. Dufflles for casual or suit (they look GREAT with a suit) days. And a Sterling (makes them for the Navy) Peacoat.
Great selection! I have 4 out of 5... I’m not a fan of the duffle coat but would like to get a lambskin shearling in the future... used to own one years ago but I wasn’t good about caring for the leather and the lambskin after several years deteriorated.
Excellent choices OG!! I live in Atlanta and our winters aren’t harsh or long enough to have a variety of coats. I do have a camel color from Ralph Lauren and longer blue double breast from H&M. I love them both. #salute
I mainly just wear overcoats or sweaters because I live in the south (NOLA), however the Shearling coats made me a fan! I had to look up Shearling and I defiantly want one in the near future (I see why you are a fan!) #Salute
Nice coat collection! I have similar taste. Pea coat is one of my favorite. It's timeless got a grey and a black one, really want a brown next to complete the trio. Good review brother!
Greetings from the western side of the state ! Love my Schott Duffle coat ! Someday I'll spring for a Gloverall. I agree with you on the shearling coat, especially the high end shearling bomber jacket reproductions.
I still have my peacoat from my Navy days. To bad I can't fit in it any longer. Lol . But seriously it's a great coat I'm going to pick up altogether one after Christmas. Cheers
Great video as always G! Living all my life in New York I've worn all of these. I can definitely relate. And by the way, I knew it was the shearling. That's one I wish I had too. Salute!!
Great video Jeff. I hear what's you're saying about the shearing. My sister has one made custom in NYC. Beautiful coat! I don't think the price would be much different. That may be the way to consider once you're ready. Keep these videos going brother. I'm still waiting for the hats video!
Sven Raphael Snider at the Gentleman's Gazette states a duffel coat the only item in classic menswear that has a hood. He has a very informative video and in-depth guide about duffel coats in his channel.
Did you ever get a shearling coat? I got to get one too. I wanted one ever since I saw Jay-Z rocking a tan one with a tan turtleneck. Definately something to aspire to.
I think u need to add military jacket in olive specially u like to wear em plaid shirts. Rest finally someone makes good video instead of only showing parkas for winter
Hey Jeff, big fan of your videos. I'm looking for a deodorant that wont clash with my cologne, Adventurer from Eddie Bauer. It has top notes of grass/herbs and citruses, midnotes of marigold and geranium, and base notes of pine, tobacco and sandalwood. It's fairly one-dimensional and overall just smells like the two floral notes dancing around the woody background. Any suggestions? Thanks, Gabe
Try "Arm & Hammer" Essentials deodorant unscented which you can by at the supermarket. It's the only deodorant I use and has not failed me even in the hottest summer nights even after moving a couple of thousand pounds of cargo. Since it is unscented it does not attract insects or curios animals when I am out in the wilds.
I like all 5 winter coats u suggest. I have several favorites. The peacoat is very nice. Been around for years. I love the olive coat the parker Great deal on that bro..great deals on all you have as suggested. Sherwin coat is the bomb. U r correct..hope i spelled that correctly lol. Anyway great picks great video and the parker coat is the one i like the most especially the olive color❤
Hey OG love your videos, I just wondered if you could do a video on black chinos. I bought a pair a while ago but struggle to find the right items to go with it, as they seem more formal than most other chinos but not quite as formal as dress trousers? Would appreciate some advice on this! Keep up the good work 👌🏻
I would suggest wearing it with casual outfits that fit with black for example in a monochromatic style. Don't let Ashley Weston see you in them she can't stand the valet look.
Never knew you were in philly. Guess I should've known when in 1 of your peacoat vids you said the standard philly uniform, white tee, Jean, n Tim's. Lol
For a second I had a WTF moment when my eyes stop at the $395 for a parka before I had continued reading that you brought it at $128. A very good deal. "A penny saved is a penny earned".
Big fan of olive myself. 1 thing I love about fall n winter is all the earth tone colors of clothing
Going in with the military theme, I occasionally wear my trench coat that the Army issued me when I was in service. The military has definitely made its impact on the fashion world.

Mr Jeff for the Parka you suggest I go a size up? I wear medium, should I go for a large size?
most of the time the are made roomier so true to size usually works..
@@TheStyleOG thank you sir.
These are cool coats, unfortunately I live in Az and it doesn't get that cold here enough to warrant such a coat.
what part of AZ? i lived in Tempe for a year..
Just outside of Phoenix/Laveen on the Gila River reservation.
I love the camel topcoat
Thanks David!
I was thinking of getting one. Zara has a nice one for $200 .
Should winter coats be stored in a special way over the summer, or is it okay to just leave them hanging in a closed closet ???
