    Hi, thank you for the video, it's super helpful. I'm considering to buy this one for my Ford Mustang Ecoboost Premium with High performance package...
    So, from what I saw, I need to fit the rear camera cables over the right passager side to make the picture well-positioned.
    What I still need to know is if we have an ability to use our cameras in parking mode when car isn't running. I really appreciate if you can make a quick hint on this, cause we park our car very often at supermarkets, in downtowns and so on. It might be helpful to monitor the situation around as you don't know when an accident can happen, especially when this is hit and run OR monitor any damage by rude people...

    • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Parking mode is available on this camera, but you need to install a separate cable for power to go to the camera at all times. It does say to contact Fitcamx about this cable, so it appears they have the solution for this issue. I also prefer to have a parking mode with my dashcam. You never know what can happen when parked in public. Thanks for watching.

      You are welcome. For the rear camera cable just make a game plan before you do anything. You can also run it low under the sill panels. I ran mine high, but someone had mentioned that it could interfere with the side curtain airbags. Take your time and it will look great when you are done. Thanks for watching.

    So, thanks for this! I've been wondering about this cam and your video has convinced me. I, too, have a Thinkware that I'm running off the OBD port.
    One thing I would have done differently, and I'll be the first to admit it's painful: run the cable for the rear cam through the existing black rubber cable runs.

    • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am glad I could help. In my opinion, it is a much better camera than the Thinkware. Better designed and executed. I absolutely agree the cable running through the interior pieces in the hatch would look better. Best of luck with your new dash cam.

    Tech Motoring.. thanks for showing different options. Why did you decide to change the last camera system you had earlier? How do you like this system?

    • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. The Thinkware setup was nice but a bit clunky. It blocked some of the view out of the windshield, and I had some issues with the OBD power source. It turns out you can't use that particular OBD power solution on EVs and hybrids. I explain that in the beginning of the Thinkware video. I do like the Fitcamx because of it's look, and the app appears to be easier to use. The quality of video is better as well. The only issue is the Fitcamx does not have a parking mode unless you get the hard wire solution that they offer. So you can have parking mode, at the cost of some more wires. I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching.

    Does the camera stay idle (15min) on when you turn off the car? Or does it shut off when you turn it off?

    • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you utilize the power from the windshield wiper sensor, then the camera will turn off immediately with the vehicle. If you purchase a hardwire kit which will provide constant power from the fuse box of the car, then the camera can record while parked. It won't record 24/7, but it will record if the vehicle gets bumped hard enough to trigger the camera.

  • @RichardYoungCF
    @RichardYoungCF ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you still using the Fitcamx? Did you ever get the hardwire kit to allow parking mode? Any issues there with the battery or error messages from the car? Have you looked at the Viofo A139 Pro? If so - how does the quality compare on the video side?

    • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am using the Fitcamx still in the Mach-E. I have not yet hard wired it for parking recording. It is currently not on my priority list. No recent issues with the battery messages on my car. Keep in mind that hard wiring it will run the 12v when the car is off, which will drain the battery and potentially trigger battery warnings. I have not reviewed or tested any Viofo products yet.

    • @RichardYoungCF
      @RichardYoungCF ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechMotoring yeah, I was curious if you had enabled parking mode which require the hardwire kit that is why I asked. If not hardwired you would not have any battery warnings either. • @TechMotoring
      @TechMotoring  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do it, but you will need to buy the hardwire kit which will require you to run a cable to your fuse box. This will provide power to the camera while the car is off. • @TechMotoring
