Nice work 👍as always. I have seen several videos of yours and have learnt alot.
In one them, you talked about dashcam killing car battery. Pls I have some clarification as regards to that
I ordered the viofo A229 Pro yesterday after watching few of your indept and brilliant reviews. I am a stack fan of OEM mirror dash cam. But I found the A229 Pro fulfilling almost all I desired from a dashcam, but it's not a mirror 😀.
After so much research over weeks now, I come to realise no single dashcam fulfills all I desire in it except I go by using 2 seperate units 🤷🏼‍♂️
So decided to get the Viofo and another mirror dash cam with no much bells and whistles.
    MY questions are:
    1) Is it okay to adwire 2 different dashcams in a single vehicle (2024 Toyota Rav 4)?
    2) Could there be any side effect?
    3) I have seen many dashcam reviewers too saying that the cut-off voltage should be minimum of 12V to avoid waking up to a dead car in the next day. But what's the minimum voltage required by a 12V car to start up?
    Thanks

I typically have 4 dash cameras in my vehicle. However I would not run all of them in parking mode. 2. side effect could be killing your car battery very quikly having too many dash cameras and no battery pack. 3. ) 12 volts should be minimum but a lot of newer vehicles need higher voltages now. sometimes 12.2 and 12.4 voltage cutoffs are used. A lot of the vendors do not offer these cutoffs.

I am really curious to see the full review of the vueroid d21 4k dashcam.
Although, I have ordered the A229 pro, but if the vueroid convince me, I will return the Viofo even immediately it's arriving. That power saving mode got me sooooo much......
Independendent of the power of anyone I settle with in the end, I still feel I will be getting a power cell unit to power it independently. I really want to preserve the battery life of my 2024 Rav 4. Andy the ability to be able to take the power cell out of the car to charge in house is really 👌.
Pls which of the power cells would you recommend. I was leaning towards the PC8 but I noticed you mentioned a flaw in it in one of your comparative review, Pls guide me
    Thanks

Hopefully soon we will have review compared to A229 Pro. We do not use powercell 8. It is not a flaw in powercell8. Just mainly how it is connected to vehicle.

    Nice Video. One quick question
When you hard wiring, you dont need any fuses or fuse extension cables ?
The hard wire cable directly goes in to those terminals ?

Excellent video, I now understand how to route the rear camera cable.
On my installation of a Blackvue 2ch camera, the hardwire harness has 2 inline fuses before going to the fuse-taps. The fuse-taps also have a fuse, resulting in 2 fuses in series to power the dashcam. Is that okay or should I delete the fuses in the hardwire harness?

Good video! The one thing I have been told to be cautious with is the side curtain airbags on my Honda CRV. Will routing cables from A pillar to C pillars as you did in the video along the side be clear of blocking the side curtain airbags as well? The side curtain airbags in my car are shown to run from the A to C pillar along the top windows of both sides. Thanks

Typically tucking in the same way works on majority of vehicles. Just do not tie strap the wiring to the airbag. Believe it or not we have seen people do this.

Hey I had a question on what side of the car is usually better to route the rear and front cameras on my 2013 Honda CRV along the headliner. I am not hardwiring, so I am just using a usb in the front port. I wish I was in Canada so I could go to you though for a hardwire. Thank you and great videos!

      We usually go driver side

@@doobtube1478 there is only 1 wire that goes from front to back for rear camera

@@SafeDriveSolutions Oh yes, I meant routing the front camera underneath either the glove compartment or the steering wheel to the usb port. If there were a preferred side for routing the front camera to the center usb.

we go direct to fusebox so we always go driver side. May be better for you to go passenger side just due to gas pedal and etc

DO NOT COMPLETELY PULL OFF THE A-PILLAR! I followed this instruction instead of others (they left it partially on) and its an absolute PITA to get back on. After 2 hours i gave up. Definitely wouldve been easier it i just routed it with it on.

We use to have challenges putting them back on. But once you figure out the sweet spot it is quite easy. But we can understand you having some fun trying to put it on.

@@SafeDriveSolutions I did push the duct with the screwdriver but the A pillar won't seat properly. Is it possible to send you a few pictures to see what I may be missing? The rest of the tutorial was pretty straightforward

@@josephromano6168 Oh i know what your talking about now. those stupid black clips on the a pillar dont want to line up. What I do is I actually use a small pick and remove those black clips from the a pillar(VEHICLE SIDE) and mount them directly on a pillar(removeable panel). Then I put them back into place. FORD GM CHRYSLER all did some very stupid things with their A pillars for a few years.
