    I've been in the industry for 25 years now and you're talent, ability, thoughtfulness and speed are all Top Shelf, reminiscent of many of the revered team members at the studios I've worked at (EA, Blizzard, UFG, Microsoft). Kudos.

      Hello there Ryan! I am an 18 year old who is aspiring to become a 3d character/model artist in the gaming industry pretty recently (went from 2d to 3d), and I wanna ask you some stuff if you dont mind;
      1. What steps should an aspiring 3D character artist take early on to build a portfolio that stands out to potential employers, especially when breaking into the industry at a junior level?
      2. As someone just starting out, how important is it to specialize in a certain area of 3D character design, like modeling, texturing, or rigging, versus being a generalist?
      3. What advice would you give someone who is just starting their career, and how can they build a strong network when they're not yet working in a studio environment?
      4. For someone with little experience, how can you gain credibility and improve your chances of landing your first job or internship, especially when many studios seem to require experience?
      These are my questions, it's okay if you don't want to answer them, I hope you have a great day!

    I understand switching to Blender for your personal projects, but for your commercial work? You never explained why you suddenly switched to blender for your commercial work too. It's one thing to learn Blender to teach and another for your professional work. It's very impressive. I love your tutorials, and I am also a student of yours on Udemy. Please keep up your amazing work bro.

      Don't you think i will be far more convincing as a teacher in Blender if i also do my commercial work in Blender :). This is the best way to show that Blender is absolutely capable of doing that, we just have to upgrade our anatomy knowledge and learn Blender :)

    I would definitely love to see this series from you, even if you can't cover every single part of the creation I'm sure it'd be really interesting to see how much work goes into creating a video game character I'd definitely really like to hear from the other Artists involved in the character creation like the concept artist, animator, rigger etc to see what kind of work goes into each part of the character creation.

    • @SpeedChar

      Turns out the artists are pretty shy, but in episode 08 i will show the initial sketches for this character and some other things, it is pretty cool. We are thinking of putting a game designer to talk about some things and our marketing specialist too :).

    Thank you @SpeedChar for sharing your wisdom and knowledge!
    If the component wasn't brand new still factory sealed, then I would advise that you get that "gifted" video card tested for malicious hardware. Red flags include: components using more voltage than the factory specified amount (use a voltage meter to check), this may allow someone to remotely monitor/control your pc for such reasons as mining for cryptocurrencies using your video card. I strongly recommend always using new parts in your pc builds, it is all too easy for someone to tamper with a component and gift it or donate it to a thrift store or something. Politely decline used PC parts no matter who the donor is and how many years that you think you might have known them.

    I wish I could "just work on it" when I do art. I am very much the kind of person who will do a small bit of work. Then sit back and admire that work. Then realize how much more work I have left. I am also very much a slow eater. When I stop to admire my food, I don't typically start to dread eating the rest of it though, lol.
