My husband passed away almost 4 years ago at the young age of 60, so there were many lonely evenings when you kept me company. Thank you for that and thank you so much for your dedication to producing your wonderful show. It was also great to hear your personal journey. Funny coincidence, but several of my girlfriends were Lancome representatives in Ontario in the early eighties. It is still my favourite brand. I just received an email this afternoon telling me that I won a swag bag at the fibre festival! That was a totally wonderful surprise! President The Goat Herder pullover by Ann Budd, is also a great knit for a guy. I made one last winter for my son and it turned out really well. I started to knit the Rein sweater- made a mess and could not frog it because the wool was so sticky. I ended up cutting it into a hundred little pieces, which gave me an odd sense of satisfaction. Oh my goodness Leea - I laughed at your comment on the Rein. I am sorry it didn't work out. I had to rip bits of mine back a couple of times, but didn't really find the yarn that hard to work with. Is it possible your hands got sweaty from frustration and being annoyed? LOL Perhaps the wool got felted? Ha! You must tell me who your friends were. If they were working for Lancome as sales reps in Ontario in the 80's, I know them for sure! So happy to hear you won a swag bag!
I don’t know where the word president came in on my original message to you. Siri seems to throw in words whenever she feels like it. I watched your videos on Rein, several times. I basically messed up on the reindeer and there was just so many dangling bits that they just got caught up in each other. I will give it another whirl. I’m not a novice never by any stretch of the imagination and I’ve got about 40 test knits under my belt. But somethings just drive me wild when it comes to knitting. Like the saying goes: you don’t trip over mountains, you trip over molehills. Anyways, Rein is for my first husband, who also drives me wild ( and not in a good way). But he did ask me to knit him a sweater, so I will get it done. The cut up part will make excellent stuffing for knitted Christmas balls. My friends are Sylvia Wulff Cherry who lives in Florida now, and Janice Colmer. Although, I think Janice mostly worked for Chanel. I used to get a lot of free stuff, which was nice. I had another friend named Lisa Gunn Wilson, who did work for Lancôme in the seventies. But she passed away almost forty years ago. See you in September! Leea

Enjoying the entire episode, but now we're in the wallflower section and WOW. Let me preface that by saying this project initially didn't interest me a whole lot, but what you two have done with the colors really tempts me to join in. The effect is truly breathtaking.
Yes - the Wallflowers is captivating. I decided to do the project just because if I was associated with it as a stockist for Felted Tweed, I wanted to make sure the class was well done. I didn't expect to be "hooked" in the way I have. It's addictive! And beautiful.

I would have expected that if it was the waves, the ripples would be in the other direction, but I can't imagine it was a volcano. But I know less than zero about geology, so who knows!

I have rug hooked a giant closet FULL of many wools, a giant closet and a couple of cupboards of quilting fabric, a drawer of linen for crossstitch, We could hang out for sure and chat forever. It could be that they were so many projects knit that he was bound to get some folks that didn't like them. Congrats on 100 episodes - I've seen them all. I too was a biology major/psych minor! I got to use both: bio as a research assistant and psych in raising a family. Seemed like an odd combination but it worked out.
100 episodes and you still have me laughing! Congratulations on reaching this milestone. 👏 Lots of laughs in this episode. Of particular hilarity were the Leif poster and Betsy asking if you played video games!!😂😂 I also loved the dinner conversation comment. I was a bio major and medical technologist and my husband is in a science related career. We always had interesting dinners with the kids. Congratulations on 100 episodes.... I have seen them all, and I admire and thank you for the consistency of podcasting them every 2 weeks. Always looking forward to them. Your story is inspiring, and appreciate your honesty and insights. I think we are around the same age....So what really brought a smile to me was the reference to Teen Beat, and having Leif Garret on your wall. For me, it was Shaun Cassidy when he was popular in the Hardy Boys, and I bought Tiger Beat magazine like I buy wool today 🤣. Nice finish showing the Point Prim Lighthouse......that is where I was introduced to your yarn.

Enjoying the entire episode, but now we're in the wallflower section and WOW. Let me preface that by saying this project initially didn't interest me a whole lot, but what you two have done with the colors really tempts me to join in. The effect is truly breathtaking.
Yes - the Wallflowers is captivating. I decided to do the project just because if I was associated with it as a stockist for Felted Tweed, I wanted to make sure the class was well done. I didn't expect to be "hooked" in the way I have. It's addictive! And beautiful.

I loved the interview , Betsy had great questions, such interesting questions! I enjoy your combo so much. I smiled when you shared you other fiber interests. I have rug hooked a giant closet FULL of many wools, a giant closet and a couple of cupboards of quilting fabric, a drawer of linen for crossstitch, We could hang out for sure and chat forever. Thanks Allison. I looked at a lot of Jared's designs and saw some contradictory comments. I wasn't sure why. It could be that they were so many projects knit that he was bound to get some folks that didn't like them. Since I haven't knit one of his patterns myself, I can't comment from personal experience, so I took the decision to leave them off of the list.

Congrats on 100 episodes - I've seen them all. I too was a biology major/psych minor! I got to use both: bio as a research assistant and psych in raising a family. Seemed like an odd combination but it worked out.

I also loved the dinner conversation comment. I was a bio major and medical technologist and my husband is in a science related career. We always had interesting dinners with the kids.
