Or does the red arrow have to be pointing forward at all times. For example do I set it up in inav axactly likr it is in real life. Or do i set it up with the arrow pointing forward at all time in inav the littpe red arrow
I have a question, is there a mode that you can implement where if the drone moves, it will stay in the position you moved it to? Like a constant position hold? Similar to that of a high end dji drone?

I have to say this as well that the BN-880 is the best bang for your buck. It's cheap, always reliable and always had same or better reception as with other modules even indoors so it is sitting on almost (5 of 7) all my INAV models.
So you have to combine position hold with altitude hold, ie position hold only fixes lat and long, not altitude? The disarm works automatically, mentioned at 6:20? Thanks for the info, useful video.
Suggestion for tutorial on tuning for smooth quad waypoints. Now inav is very nice with waypoints in fixed wing but with quads it’s like a drunk sailor between points unless you go very slow.
I've always flown 5" with betaflight but I've recently got into 7" medium range cruising. Would you recommend inav over betaflight if I will be doing more smooth flying with very slight flips and rolls? I've used inav on wings before and it was brilliant but never used it on a drone before

Hi I have a real nightmare of a problem. I have never encountered this before. Just bought a Foxeer 120 GPS, I have wrapped the wires except the live wire in Copper tape and then insulated them so it cant make any connections on my Fc. I finds 6 maybe more sats in a minute. As soon as I attach the top plate of my quad, it stops all gps signals. I have tried copper tape on the underside of the top plate, stops signals Tried plastic plate as a test, stops signal The gps is located at the rear like yours and I cant put the cables on the outside at branches ect could easily catch them. I have done everything I can think of Help welcome
I got BN-880 and speedybee F405 V3 stack. Magnetometer appeared only first time in Betaflight and never came online. I switched to iNav, but whatever you do Magentometer and Barometer are set in red, It has been so frustrating that I am thinking of giving up.
@@flat-eartheryes, I did. It seems there was some congestion in the signal, I removed the GPS with compass and also removed the transmitter antennas apart and all started detecting and working. I had to change their location.
Did it quiet a long time back but not worth doing as quad flew like a bag of spanners with inav, unless they have improved the flight characteristics now.
I’m used to Betaflight but tried INAV again... i don't get a compass reading or heading and I just had a flyaway when takeing off 🙄not cool ,did a Botgrinder off the neighbor's car ...at least i got it back....

So i got it working really good in pos hold except for when i lower throttle just a little bit it falls down instead of slowly going down. Up is going good smooth and fast if i want. I installed RushFPV M10 GPS (no magnetometer) on my quad I already have a magnetometer on my quad. At a high altitude, I set ALT HOLD just moving left and right , little bit up and down trying to keeping the altitude. Don't know what happened as soon as I selected the position hold my quad drifted to one side at a high speed and slammed into trees and broken one frame arm. I got 15 satellite lock. :(

It depends if Hobbywing will be interesed. So far, every manufacturer that was interested in that has a target. Drop a message to Hobbywing customer support so they know it's a wanted feature
Hello Pawel, I've heard it somewhere that you can 'parallel' GPS + Magnetometer + Barometer on a 'single' SDA/SCL? Having most FC's only come with a pair of them. I have GPS already connected on my FC's SDA/SCL but I plan to buy a separate Barometer and was stumped on where to put it.
You can connect all scl wires to scl and sda wires to sda. If needed you can splice wires from one sensor line( i.e gps) to all other i2c sensors ( mag, baro, airspeed, etc.)

I see not many have made videos to explain on how to make the RTH more configurable. I am trying to figure out how to make the first trigger of going up very fast then return at a much greater speed. I will be flying in HUGE waves and want to be able to hit the RTH or get a failsafe and the drone shoots up in the air then returns home before battery dies. I am using inav on cinebot30 but i am having issue . When i change board yaw orientation by 45 degree the magnetometer orientation also gets offset by 45 degree why ?
The situation is that all the FC manufacturers that were interested in having INAV support have INAV support. If not, I suggest contacting GepRC customer support
This is really great information. I have a question, is the matek m8q 5883 just really good? so it doesn’t need to be mounted in a mast to avoid compass interference ? Will it get out of calibration often since it’s so close? I just have seen so many people use a mast to avoid compass interference issues. Struggled with it in the past myself.

I was having trouble with it as well on a Darwin 129 I converted to INAV. Had to move the gps from it stock position in the back to on top. I think the cap on the esc was causing the toilet bowling issues.

GPS 20 satellites, magnetometer calibration in open field and still absolutely chaos. Drone flies great without nav modes. But nav modes goes crazy. :(
For some reason my drone shows height like -10 meters just after start. Probably, it's because a heavy noise which I can't defeat. I think my frame and motors are so old and bad so they should rest in peace, but It must fly :)
All quads... That have i2c pads, and an inav target. Kinda out of luck if you want to fly micros like 1s NanoLR Jhemcu GSF405A would be perfect but no interest from inav devs unless jhemcu comes to them first
lol there are so many I nav RTH fail videos. Commercial drones have surpassed the DIY Community. Need an example Amazon had hundreds of kits and parts a few years ago. Now you would be hard pressed to build 5 drones with unique internals on amazon. Guess if you like having a drone that's the same as the other guys drone you could save yourself hours, that translates to dollars and mistakes that also translates to dollars, by buying a commercial drone that fits your needs. If your need is a Drone that is equal or better than commercial drones you would need to start with goggles that are not "analog" and 4k capable video feed there goes 600 dollars or more (no drone parts included.) want to fly a mile away? Well there's another couple hundred dollars. still (no drone parts included.) now to run the video you might want a vista or an air unit. lol more commercial parts about 200 to 300 each still (no frame, flight controller, gps or motors.)
goggles digital hd fat shark $549 they suck vista digital $179 or air 03 $285 flight controller stack $129 we will use a cheep $30 frame middle of the road 60 dollar motors. batteries $60 antennas wires screws ect. $30 4k digital DIY average from scratch using the lowest figures above $1,037 (this drone will perform better only if you built it as an fpv drone. No DIY camera drone holds a match to commercial photography drones on the market at around $600 to $1000
I just noticed in that 1037 dollar build, you still don't have an rx or tx. you will need that if you don't already have one that links to all the stuff you just bought.
I suppose you have not used INAV in a very long time. A lot changed in the last few years and I would even argue that setting up INAV can be simpler than setting up Betaflight when the same features are used here and here
Don't get me wrong you can build one for 300 bux but you will be disappointed, when you see a kid with an $80 drone he grabbed off a shelf that is better.

there is nothing you can do. Too much RF interference. So either buy better GPS or have it in the back where is less RF noise
5:42 my drone does position hold before I take off perfect everytime. Never even had to enable or calibrate it....😁

I think you should try using option to use mid-stick for alt control. It can be set on advanced tuning page. Happy flying!

GPS with MAG will have 6 pads. + GND, TX, RX SCL SDA. SCL SDA might be marked CL, DA, SC, SD. Depends on the module

Check if Configurator of the software you use detects baro, That usually is the way to handle this

My drone all motors rotate in anticlockwise, I am not able to set the motors in inav. Pls help me
When I turn on the arm switch the motors beep and make a noise . The motors cannot be started

Level. It simplifies setup and when it's not level you have to precisely adjust magnetometer orientation as well

This is doable only for some FC. It's not a rule! Majority of INAv supported FC have I2C already

this is how it's designed. Use Mag setup too in INAV

Toilet bowling is almost always compass misaligment, very easy to fix.

no, these two are essential for altitude and heading, otherwise the only point of reference is the 2d GPS geo position.
GPS 20 satellites, magnetometer calibration in open field and still absolutely chaos. Drone flies great without nav modes. But nav modes goes crazy. :(
For some reason my drone shows height like -10 meters just after start. Probably, it's because a heavy noise which I can't defeat. I think my frame and motors are so old and bad so they should rest in peace, but It must fly :)

lol there are so many I nav RTH fail videos. Commercial drones have surpassed the DIY Community. Need an example Amazon had hundreds of kits and parts a few years ago. Now you would be hard pressed to build 5 drones with unique internals on amazon. Guess if you like having a drone that's the same as the other guys drone you could save yourself hours, that translates to dollars and mistakes that also translates to dollars, by buying a commercial drone that fits your needs. If your need is a Drone that is equal or better than commercial drones you would need to start with goggles that are not "analog" and 4k capable video feed there goes 600 dollars or more (no drone parts included.) want to fly a mile away? Well there's another couple hundred dollars. still (no drone parts included.) now to run the video you might want a vista or an air unit. lol more commercial parts about 200 to 300 each still (no frame, flight controller, gps or motors.)

I just noticed in that 1037 dollar build, you still don't have an rx or tx. you will need that if you don't already have one that links to all the stuff you just bought.

I suppose you have not used INAV in a very long time. A lot changed in the last few years and I would even argue that setting up INAV can be simpler than setting up Betaflight when the same features are used here and here
Don't get me wrong you can build one for 300 bux but you will be disappointed, when you see a kid with an $80 drone he grabbed off a shelf that is better.
