In all fairness they should inform the public of what is stipulated in the charter change. Karen you're absolutely correct before going charter change we should address the corruption problem of our country.

Kailangan ngang iupdate ang Constitution but not in the manner of how the People Initiative is being run, using bribery on its signature campaign. But what is really wrong is the People Initiative did not emanate from the people but rather from the leadership of the lower house of Congress and lead by the Speaker himself that it is labelled a Political Initiative because it was the Congressmen who initiated it and supported the signature campaign .
The Constitution is not the problem...it is the mindset and political will of the leaders....You can legislate our way to progress...in fact there is so much in the pipeline that has not been implemented yet.
The Senate is there for a reason. Their hesitance to amend or revise the Constitution has its reasons.
If you guys find the common ground to do so, say changes to be effective 15years down the line..to eliminate doubts on vested interests....would these Congressmen show exactly the same bravado and zest? I doubt it.

But public opinion is not in congress' favor. It all boils down to this, Congress acted exclusively in favor of their personal interests than their district's interests. right, we should first review the proper enforcement of our current laws and good governance. we have good laws but the problem is the manner why these are not correctly enforced and implemented. we should resolve first graft and corruption, specifically the delayed completion of infra projects. In the Philippines, which in my mind is part of graft and corruption, some cemented roads are constructed without alongside underground drainage/sewage canal and a few years after, these same concrete roads are demolished or partially affected by the construction of a run-off or sewage canal. What a waste of money, no short or medium term projection or a sense of direction or road map being conscienteously done for infra plans. some remote areas do not even have concrete roads only dirt roads or none at all. also, if foreign control of schools shall be included, that i think is not good. we may have majority or full control by foreign owners of our educational institutions, like what is happening, reportedly in some states of the us by chinese investors who belong to state enterprises of china and who are feared as members of the CCP. the case of vietnam is basically different. It is a communist country. There, anyone who is corrupt may end up his/her soul in a firing squad, especially plunder. The recent news about 44 policemen in the southern police district who were involved stealing some money out of the chinese nationals' 64 million of pesos was the same modus that took place in slicing reportedly, a chunk of the 1 Billion worth of shabu in Taguig Police Force drug buy-bust last year (forgive me if am mistaken for the info). Why the same violative act of some of the law enforcers (apart from the good police and thanks a lot for them for being the real and ideal law enforcers) is taking place again. Do we mean that we need to have a 100% foreign control by the US Police particularly the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) to make our local police true law-abiding themselves, truly model citizens of this country and not just law-enforces. tnx & god bless mam karen. keep safe.
This PI is wrong in many levels. Not only is it a "revision" w/c isn't allowed in a PI, it also isn't a PI as it is initiated and promoted by the lower house. That's not even talking about use of bribery & govt resources

The main problem in the country is corruption in government
Adding the word "jointly" will result in disregarding the Senate's 24 votes, it alters the fundamental principle of checks and balance in the constitution, therefore, it is a revision and not a mere amendment.

The house of representatives is the reason why people doesn't trust the push for charter change. Pano inumpisahan kc agad ng bribery so mawalan na tlga ng tiwala ang mga tao, lalo na sa oppression na ginagawa ng leader ng house sa mga nag question ng budget nila, pasara agad ang station, may mag salita na former leaders gawan agad ng paraan na patahimikin, asan na ang democracy ng pilipinas ngaun, pag nag tanong ka sa mga politiko regarding budget ptatahimikin ka, so sinong public ang mgtitiwala pa sa kanila, tpos mga congressmen takot kay tamba nawalan na ng boses ang 90% ng congressmen, so nkakatakot tlga na hayaan nating baguhin nila ang patakaran at mawalan ng karapatan na ang tao na iboto ang gusto nating leader. The Chinesse government can afford to help their businessmen to buy big chunk of land in any part of the phillippines..and they are hundreds of thousand individuals..if they will buy people land in higher amount poor farmer and families might be temp to sell their land and these will suddenly change to BAD landscape of our beloved land. Think it through more thoroughly before you adopt into mitigating our economy by having foreigners own our land. Other Southeast Asian countries, like Singapore, Malaysia, etc. It is our Energy sector that has not moved up to ease our business, and our Internet Communication System is the slowest among Asian countries. Above all, the Administration looks into the overall welfare of the country and its people void of pure politics. One sole formula to get our dream is to encourage people is through the government to play its role modeling

@@fredtacang3624 marami fred. First, the allowing of 100% foreign ownership of both the services amd utilities sectors. Currently, the laws regarding them are not very clear and the supreme court has yet to rule on them. In short, this will clear the air. A rich, noisy, scandalous and litigious environment is never ideal. Second, it will open power generation and distribution, water resource management, industrial-scale agriculture, best global mining practices, telecommunications, internet, trains and railways, real estate development, hotel and resort development, shipping, airlines, tollways, manufacuring, education, media, etc.
We need capital, science and technology. One way of making them invest in the Philippines is to let them own land. They will invest more if they have some exposed skin and get to own the land. I will not elaborate on this here as I amply explained them in my other youtube posts but I tell you it is over the moon positive for the Philippine economy. Millions of jobs will be generated, billions of pesos collected, technology transfer realized and science midwifed in the decades ahead.
