Having the camera of your head is great, it really lets us see from your point of view. What amazes me, is how you shape the shoe exactly to the hoof, no template, just memory. Another great video.
It's good to see a video where it's not all plain sailing! Poppy ended up giving you a nuzzle Sam which was lovely to see. Hope your wrist is OK Tom! 👌
Like the POV for a change but not always 😊 Patience is SOooo important when dealing with horses. They are prey animals, and to have a foot being worked on is a tremendous amount of trust by the horse as you've taken away its means of getting away from a threat. That's why I love the good gurl and good lad 😊
I really loved watching from the GoPro POV. To see the detail, skill, speed and workmanship was fascinating. Also your commentary and explanations during the fitting was great. Thank you Sam. Now I’ll pay more attention when our farrier is on the yard! It’s such an amazing skill 👏👏👏
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE GUYS SAM & TOM!!! A word for the horse owners though! I simply can't stand seeing a 'LAZY HALTER' hanging off of a horses face with the nose band hanging so low it's nearly in the horses mouth! Seriously, how hard is it to properly pull the halter up on your horses head before buckling it?!? I'm sure your horses would appreciate it as well!!!
I love the “realness”, language and all When I had my own horse, watching and interacting with the farrier was one of the most informative and entertaining part of ownership. Tom’s responses were real. Authentic, automatic. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks for sharing 🐴❣️🐴
Thank you for letting us see their new shoes when you get done. Dealing with animals does teach you patience. It’s a testament to your self control and being a principled man. Keeping it classy is important ❤
Your videos are brightening up so many people's days- thank you and looking forward to the next one. What proper decent hard grafting patient fellas you both are. 😊
You provide us with something new with every video. Never gets old. Always great to spend time with you guys and watch you work. I am glad you enjoy vlogging. It's a lot of work to film, edit and upload. Very much appreciated.
Aaaah, ha ha. I'm not laughing at Sam who got dragged across half the yard (he's a superb ferrier) I'm laughing at your comment. Also lol, right after getting dragged across half the yard, Tom says, "the way you spin me around".
Tom’s face was so funny - he looked like someone just offered him a $hit sandwich 😂 however, the owner is not keeping those hooves clean and have fungus and although there does seem to be “fun” in fungus - there indeed is not and is a very serious problem asa result of lack of cleanliness- my question is why have a horse with feather for days if you have minimal interest in keeping clean?
I admire your patience and skill in handling the horses...great job. The GoPro is great for filming, but honestly I like to see the horse, his expressions and what's around you...and then it's weird to see you from that angle.😅😂♥🐎💯
The GoPro was cool in terms of camera angles in this video but I really like to see you and Tom in action with the horses and getting your camera guy to film all that. I did however enjoy seeing you work from your perspective with the GoPro on your head while filming. It is fun to watch you and Tom interacting with each other, the clients and the horses you are caring for so I appreciate when your camera man is on the job. Thank you again for your video Samuel!
I enjoyed this again! I look forward to these longer videos, my 2yr old granddaughter watches them with me….she loves the “horseys”. I enjoy learning about the craft, and the banter between you two is entertaining!
Tom's face while opening the gate....I can definitely relate😅 Just love the both of you. Love that Sam is teaching Tom...just as Sam's dad taught him. Love watching the horses and their personalities. Another great video.
Sam, it’s always a pleasure watching you & Tom work! I’ve loved horses from a very early age. It’s great to be learning so much from you two fellas!! Thank you!! 🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰
We hear so much these days about "Toxic Masculinity" and Gender Fluidity, that it's extremely refreshing to have Masculinity celebrated and positively reinforced . Sam is teaching Tom in s way that Men learn by seeing and doing, there is goid natured, light hearted banter, a very good working relationship, a firmness with gentleness. Well-done lads.
You're such a weirdo, why do you even bringing up any of that .... like Is that the only thing YOU see when you're looking at videos of people ? Gender , masculinity , femininity .... get a life loser
You guys make me laugh. Always lovely to see you and the beautiful horses. Snowstorm here in Chicago tonight. I’m with Tom - it sucks. Stay warm gentlemen!😊
Awesome vlog, loved the go pro view! My favourite about the jobs is how you are towards the horses, patient, and talk to them the whole way through amazing, watching from New Zealand 😊
Greetings from Albania 🇦🇱 🇦🇱 I like your videos, I really like the job you do and the beautiful relationship you have with horses, horses are the animals that I love very much 👍👍
Good morning to you BOTH .. you have a special gift with horses! Love your work, i wish you were closer lol ..im glad you talk to them as your going..❤
I was thinking I remembered Poppy likes a bit of a rub on her rear hoof! She is a challenge! Like the view from on top!! Great insight on the nail placement and adapting the shoe to the way the horse's wearing the last shoe down! Good demonstration on the vast knowledge required of a farrier. Your patience is admirable. The animal can certainly pick up on your mood and react. (We've had a snow threat, but none so far. Lots of wind, but it's Kansas. Always wind..) I learn something every time. The word and meaning "undercut" this time.
Love you both- huge fan and always happy to see your content! 🥰Unfortunately the POV wasn't for me, it actually made me motion sick so I had to skip ahead after a while. But, always here for you guys!!
Another great episode, well done chaps, keep up the good work. I remember as a child we had a blacksmith in our village, and loads of horses went there to be shoed etc. Happier days. Righ next episode....
Great collection lads. Can you feature sometimes, a view of the countryside and maybe some history or points of interest about your neck of the woods? - would be a nice side feature to the farriering (Escape To The Country type of thing). I reckon it would boost your following towards 100,000!
Sam you have to talk to poppi more the horses love it and always behave when you talk to them there ya go "good girl Poppi Good girl" she settled down ! ❤
The special formula hoove balm is apparently good for human nails too. I have remarked recently about how well maintained your hands look Samuel. The same could be said about Thomas. Glad you are protecting your eyes (and hopefully ears!). I injured my cornea with a tiny chip of plaster working on a wall. Very painful and occasionally haunts me decades later! ❤ Like the gopro, but still love seeing the horse as well! Hope you can have a bit of both!
Hallo guys, Im glad you videoed all four of that babys hooves being fully shawed. Its almost gratifying seeing each hoove done. I wwatch in the early mornings when my birds are Sleeping amd its still night time here. i cant have the sound on cuz of their need to get rest.. Thats okay cuz i dont understand what your saying half the time anyway. 😂 (we share a room, me and my 15 parakeets ). Im glad you gave that coated draft neck a brisk rubbing. So kind. I have a long varied history w horses. Great Job Tom n Sam! Cheerio. God bless ya
The camera on your head shows a great perspective, as if we were working yourself. This works particularly well for us viewers. Only Sam, you do the work so quickly and always in conscious contact with the horse that you can't be copied so quickly with any certainty. Except Tom, he'll be so good too!

Aw Tom, its a hard life, innit! 😅 youll get there, it just takes practice, like everything worthwhile. Horses are beautiful but also stubborn and sensitive and full of individual character. Its good to get to know them and their quirks and what works to calm them. Like Sam says, its a skill you can take into the rest of your life. Im so glad youre learning with him. Keep on keeping on... you'll do great. Love watching the channel, well done for the 100k. Love from a fellow Yorky over them hills in Sheff. 😊
Always enjoy yours & Tom's POV's...even if they feel a tad trippy haha. & Tom...a lil snow?! I've had to go to work in a blizzard & blizzard aftermath the last couple of days haha. There's no snow days in the prairies in 🇨🇦 lol
Another awesome video, very informative. Beautiful horses!! Quick question…Are you both responsible for cleaning up the grounds after you’re done? Or do the owners take over?
Those Gypsy Vanners are stout ponies and Poppy obviously doesn't wanna have a pedicure today! Hope she does well in her Star showing. She's gonna need a bleach clean and brushing! Lotta work. Lovely Bea! Tom, hope your wrist isn't hurt too much! Thanks, for being so observant and catching the foot rot 😂 Sam. We love ya guys! Thanks for pointing out that Poppy is a Gypsy Vanner - didn’t catch that earlier & couldn’t figure what type of pony. They are so pretty pulling a cart.
@KnawedOne You're very welcome. I love Gypsy Vanners. They are absolutely gorgeous. They require a lot of work on the mane, tail and feathering. (Feet) And yes, pulling gypsy Caravans, the old style. Antique ones. I have a gypsy Vanner calendar from Scotland I bought in 2012 because of Danny Boy. Beautiful black and white Vanner. Look them up online and see their gorgeous flowing names and tails. Poppy has her rug on to keep her clean and she has braids but it's a chore to groom them. Purple and blue shampoos are used to bring out the bright white and get rid of the yellow stains. I love grooming horses. It's a labor of love.
Sam, you work is great.☝🏻😊 Now I know that your work is not only límited to a small space , but when you leave it there are also situations to solve and in a big way ❤.
I’ve never seen a farrier put hoof cream in a horse. Makes sense. You are so good with the horses and really understand their needs.
Having the camera of your head is great, it really lets us see from your point of view.
What amazes me, is how you shape the shoe exactly to the hoof, no template, just memory.

Agree 100% these two are great entertainment I been watching these fellas instead of political BS in the states Great job guys ty

I've Learned SO Much. Not to mention their, teasing interactions, the amount I've been able to learn, and (Come on...) SAM? DAMN!!!🙂🙃
Oh and from someone who used to own and ride my own Horses,Sam is definitely good at his job as well as being easy on the eyes.
Right? Lol
Without a doubt, the best shoer I've seen in 60 yrs. And yes, very handsome man. Married? Lol

I loved the "Geezus woman!" to the horse shortly after too.
@@christybirling3299Yes😂 That cracked me up, too😂
I hear you, but Sam is still Toms boss. Sam’s really cool and laughs things off but there should still be a level of respect there.
@@ashleighmackenzie8670 I think there is respect, which is what makes the “outburst” so funny. Lots of positivity from both men.
Patience is a virtue and you’ve got it! Thank you for your hard work, skill, sharing and camera use. It’s a lot to juggle and you nailed it!
Poor Tom 😅 Poppy is a handful! (Poor Sam as well btw! 😂) #TeamTom 😊

Plus I miss getting to see that beautiful smile & dimples!!
A combination of camera angles works for me. Variety keeps it interesting 😊
What an amazing good job.....the horses must be so appreciative as are their humans.
I show up for the "good gul" " good lad". So reassuring to the animal.
Patience is key in alot of jobs. So glad you mentioned never getting upset.
