Thank you so much for watching, and we hope you enjoy the journey with us! 🎥
Fantastic idea with the rubber pads on Trudy. I had a retired thoroughbred that had terrible laminitis, my farrier came up with some pretty ingenious shoes for her. Farriers are as equally important to the health of the horse as a veterinarian. Thank you Sam for showing us your talents. 👍🏻
Yeh with these cases you have to think outside the box to help the best you can, it’s always great to work as a team with your vet to get the best possible results. Thank you for watching means a lot glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Excellent work❤
@@SwfarriersI saw a video recently of a ferrier using some time of clear rubber shoe. He used a heat gun to put it together.
“It’s very important to always have that student mindset, you never know everything”. This is why you’re are so good at what you do. I’m a nurse and I always have the belief that the nurses who “know everything” are the most unsafe nurses. I know nothing about horses, but I’ve loved learning through your content. Your videos show that you care and love what you do. Thank you!
Well said. I was thinking very much the same.
Hear hear!
I really enjoyed watching this
Glue on shoes have come a long way, beautiful job. Trudy was very cooperative and I hope she's happier and more comfortable. "No hoof no horse."
I appreciate that he tried to imagine how she will cope and move with the difference in feeling for Trudy and how she will move and balance, while adjusting to the difference in the feel of the shoe.
What a gentleman - kind, considerate, thoughtful and great at the job.🥰
Sign of a great farrier, always learning. It shows why you are such a good farrier and an excellent teacher. That was such interesting content. The more I watch, the greater you are, and the more I learn. A day when something is learned is never wasted. Thanks!
thank you, I'm glad you enjoy the content I'm new to making longer content like this so I'm also learning as I go on how to present it. its so nice to have nice feedback like this! thanks for watching hope you have great day! 😊
Hope we see a follow up on Trudy. I appreciate seeing these more unusual cases. You really improved her quality of life.
yeh sure I'm goner do another video when I visit her next, thank you for watching!
Two guys evaluating each other's nappy applying skills.😂
As an Aussie I appreciate and love the banter between you and Tom 😂 Truly amazing the care you provide too. Trudy is going to feel like a new gal! Love to see any update in a few weeks 😊
Wish l could understand all of the banter-feisty lass from US
What a blessing you are for little Trudy!
This channel is going to blow up very soon and very quickly. I always call it on the channels that will, and I’ve not been wrong yet.
I really hope so for Sam anyway. It’s people like him that actually really deserve a big audience. He’s not only teaching his craft, which tbh is actually so interesting and cool the way he explains all these wee things to us. But he’s an extremely likeable guy. And I can tell he’s going to do very well from this. I’m excited to see it☺️🏴💕
hi Ashleigh, thank you so much for the kind words means a lot i really appreciate everyone that takes time to tune in and watch my content, thanks for watching 😊
I think you’re right. ❤
These videos are so interesting!! I don't own a horse anymore, but anything that has to do with horses I watch. You are so skilled at your craft. Hopefully, you are able to teach many. I am from Pennsylvania US and I love listening to you. The horses and Tom are lucky to have you!! Lol
Sam’s arms though ❤😍😍😍
“Why would you call a woman a cow” 😂 I love the banter between you two!
@@MichelleHays-jm6mr you’ve got to treat them right😅😂 thank you glad you enjoyed it.
PLEASE do a follow up. ❤❤❤❤this was GREAT. I'm so pleased to see such good care for the beautiful horses. Thank you, Sam.
Will do! Thank you for watching 😊
One of the best farriers I've watched ever! He's a perfectionist!! Wish you were here in south Louisiana. I'd definitely get you to shoe my horses!
Most caring sensitive farrier😊😊happy for the horses❤
Love how much you care about your horses 🙌🏼
Really enjoy watching you work with different horses! Those stick on pads are 'the bees knees' for horses!!❤
Your expertise in caring for all of these animals, particularly Trudy, is truly remarkable and comparable to that of the veterinarians. Please keep us updated on Trudy’s progress with her new glued pads. I feel like we are part of something special, and I’m eager to witness it for educational purposes today.
thank you ill keep you posted! thanks for watching.
Dont call a woman a cow..what a gentleman you are. This is fascinating, my new favourite channel! ❤👏🏼👌🙌👍🏻🐎
Me too
I have learned so much about this profession. I’d never heard of a farrier.
Teaching is another profession in which one is always learning...it keeps you fresh and motivated. Then it's not just a job...it's a calling.
Troodee really does seems to be quite pleased with her new shoes. Yay! Who knew Tom was so mouthy--eh! You guys are too funny. Good one!
I hope it works out for poor Trudy. I love these videos. I truly find them so educational and interesting. Thank you so much for posting!
We’ve had a good result so far, I was really happy with how it went since it was my first time doing this treatment. Thank you and thanks for watching 😊
I just love the care and love you have for these beautiful animals ❤ Truly special you are❤!
My heart goes out to Trudy. I cannot wait to see if this heals her hooves and saves her soles❤. Simply adore the care you and Tom bring - nice shout out to Peter - he sounds like another master in the trade🔥. Keep sharing her progress and cannot wait to see if her horn clears up-
she's doing so much better already! I'm definitely goner do a follow up video when i visit her next will all see the results together! thank you for watching.
Absolutely amazing Sam, great to watch how things have progressed over the years. You did a brilliant job, well done!
Fascinating! Hope you will do a follow-up video on her to see well those shoes worked for her.
You two banter like an old married couple!😂🤣‼️I love it! Reminds me of my apprenticeship grooming dogs some 62 years ago! Keep up the good work lads! Teach, remain open minded , humble and teachable♥️sending peace and love from California 🙋♀️♥️☮️🕉️‼️
haha yeh we have a good laugh! thank you thank for watching
Beautiful 12:56 teach the young man the love and compassion and the gentleness of the beautiful job you do with the horses.😊❤
Super interesting! Keep us updated as to Trudy’s progress please 😊
Great video!
Perfect mix of humor and educational content. I love that you’re not too proud to say you’ve never done this technique and you talk to other farriers for advice etc
Thank you for helping sweet Trudy feel better ❤️
thank you for watching! im glad you enjoyed it
I cannot imagine the strength of his back to do this work. Very rewarding work that I wish i could do.
Well done !!! You are the BEST.... Horses loves You...ever!!!! God Bless always!!! From. CHILE 🇨🇱👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯💯🥂🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🥰💅💅💅💅💅💅
Hey Sam and Tom, another fab video. 10 years from now I'll still be watching, and commenting and will be able to say I'm an OG! Watching you transition from Instagram I'm in awe of how brilliant these longer form videos are. I've learnt so much from all your videos and loved seeing you apply an innovative technique to a challenging case. Every day is a school day, you're a true professional by being humble enough to discuss cases with your peers. Your delivery is so natural, clear and the way you explain every step makes it easy to understand. Tom, keep up the good support for Sam, you're so lucky to have a mentor. I enjoy the banter too, work would be more tedious without a bit of banter. I'd love to see a Q&A with you and one with you both, a bit of a get to know you style video. I think it would be interesting to do a video on the evolution of horse shoeing techniques. Have a great weekend guys xx ❤
Absolutely facinating! I love horses although i know nothing about them. Greetings from Ottawa, Canada
Thank you Sam (Super size! ) and Tom (Tinky winky Tom , believe that if you will!)...... great banter guys. What an interesting video and although I have no knowledge of horse shoeing you make it look amazing, what a skill to have. What a difference the shoes which you put onto Trudy made to her walking. She looked so happy at the end of the video. Tom is a lucky young man having such a good instructor, what a team!! must be a pleasure to go to work each day. Despite being a country bumpkin and having had a farrier in the family when I was a baby, had no idea of the knowledge required to keep horses feet in good health Please keep doing the videos, so interesting. Am sure we will see Tom progress also, thank you so much guys. Graeme
thank you Graeme im glad you enjoyed the video! theres so much depth to farriery im excited to share my journey with everyone! thankyou for watching
I’m here for the horses but dang if you’re not a horse lovers dream.☺️
I stumbled onto your videos and your demeanor and ability to connect with the horse amazed me, so naturally I needed to like you and it opened up more videos for me to see if what I thought I was seeing was real. It was and that made me feel happy just like you make the horses feel happy.
I love to watch you work and how the horse will try to show you what you showed it. A bonifide caring and love. Well done! You are a special person that loves his work and the horses that you help are lucky to have you. Also, the young man helping you is awesome. Teach him well!
Always interesting. You have a very natural way of sharing information with your audience in these videos, Sam. There’s a nice balance of technical info, human interest elements and humor. Thanks.
hi Richard, thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I'm looking forward to taking you all on this journey with me! sharing my experience and knowledge in treating these beautiful animals and all the things I learn on the way too!
Really interesting to watch. It must be so satisfying to see the difference it makes to her.
yeh for sure making horses more comfortable/sound is such great job satisfaction, thanks for watching hope you enjoy the next video!
❤ Trudy. Excellent work. ❤ from Australia
This was so great to watch. I look forward to seeing her progress with your very meticulous hoof care. Thank you for sharing.
I look forward to seeing how she gets on, thank you for watching 😊
These videos are so therapeutic x
Awww I’m so glad there is someone like you to love these big babies enough to make them feel better and make their lives easier. I’m an animal advocate so your videos bring me great joy.
Keep being wonderful 😊
You guys are so very caring & kind to your clients. Plus funny great fun watching you both. Thank you❤❤❤
thank you
Sam this was fascinating. She is truly a pretty little mare, such a lady. I'm praying she will improve. This was so worth the time you spent with her. Can you imagine our feet hurting like that all the time, going barefoot and feeling every stone. When I was a young girl, I read James Herriot's books. I thought he was wonderful, his caring and devotion to the animals. You remind me a lot of him. You have that special quality that puts them at ease. Let's them know you are there to help, make life better for them. Some farriers I have seen are so rough, the pull and jerk, well I can't bear to watch. I'm a Nana in the US, North Carolina . My name is Denise, 64 years old. My grandparents on my daddy's side had a farm. I learned so much from my Pa, he valued the animals on his farm. I have always dreamed of going to England. While I'm older and may never make it over, I can watch you tend to your hoofed animals, keep Tom in line😉 and see the beautiful countryside. Hon I do have one question, how long will that glue hold the pad on for Trudy? I hope it's strong & won't be poppin' off. So glad you could help her. I have already subscribed. Til next time Sam...stay well, safe & happy when ya can. They need ya out there.👍💗💗💗💗💗🐴😃
Little Tom seems a cheeky little lad lol
You are seriously amazing! I really like the way you are so loving and kind to the horses.
Fascinating and lovely that Trudy will feel more comfortable, great to see alternatives methods learnt and used……Tom was hilarious 😆
@@RuthDaykin yeh we have had a good result so far I look forward to comming back to her see how her hooves have improved in a months time, toms great haha thanks for watching.
You two work so well together. The back-and-forth banter lol anyone would think you were related
Well done for being flexible Sam and Tom.
I don't ride horses, and I'm even a little scared of horses, but your videos are fascinating. the pleasure of listening to an English accent must surely play a role!! (I'm French, but I spent part of my childhood near Birmingham, great memories, great experience, I keep a great affection for England and English culture)
Haha Tom's a cack, he's giving you heaps 😂 everyone needs some cheekiness at work- keep it up Tom but don't forget about the horses mate! 😂
haha yeh tom is great banter! thanks for watching
Wow, you are really amazing! I love how you care for their hoof health. The bantering is funny too, LOL "never call a lady a cow" 😅😅
My first name is Donna, meaning Lady. My middle name is Leah, meaning Wild Bovine. So, in MY case, it fits! 😂😂😂
Came across this page via a reel find it fascinating to watch you do an amazing job ❤
Easier way to get the gloves on is to blow into them (to open them up) and then putting them on.
Getting a couple of boxes of different sizes also helps.
Trudy is beautiful - thanks to both of you for helping her.
Thank you Sam and saucy Tom for helping Trudy!! Great job and interesting!!
I can see that you care about Trudy. ❤
That’s a brilliant different video
And Tinky Tom is definitely better a putting nappies on
Lovey Trudy
@@PhilNyquist yeah tom was a natural 😂 thank you glad you enjoyed it.
2024 Master Craftsman Farrier with Trudy golden ginger horse Ooooo she's going to be the happiest horse
soon. Beautiful craftsmanship. He's truly a pleasure to view ❤😊
She is so adorable little Trudy ❤❤❤
Schooling young Tom! Good on ya. What a great role model you are for him.
A lot of experience, years of practice and a lot of passion for this job.💯
💚⚪❤
thank you
It’s so wonderful to see you guys at work. So kind to the ponies. In my days, the farriers were brutal to the horses, impatient and uncaring about the specific needs.
Im 66. Ridden since i was 3. I must have been lucky. Had great farriers except for 1. Went on hols to Devon. Horrible bloke twitched my pony. He got his revenge though, the second the twitch came off his nose he double barrelled him big time. I was only 15 at the time, but other than that nope, had lovely farriers. Long term though, maybe thats why, I knew them all well. Much like our Sam and Tom. Always having a laugh.Kept up with new methods for foit problems. Looks like i was lucky.
The horses are the most important client if your good to them there good to you 😊thanks for watching.
I'm so so happy this worked out so well for Trudy. You two are amazing. 🥰
we are too! 1 week on Trudy is doing so much better in them I'm glad this treatment worked ill definitely be adding this treatment to my services, thank you for watching.
@@SwfarriersThanks for the update on Trudy answering my question about if the new pads were helping. Her eyes were expressing how grateful she was to be in less pain. 👏
It is so nice to see someone who is so in tune with an animal. I've always been a city girl, so I haven't learned horse communication, but I know cat, bunny, and dog communication and know what it is like to "read" how an animal is feeling and what they need/want, and feel in tune with them. I'd love to have a horse friend. They are such special animals.
What a pleasure to watch somebody work who is expert in his craft and who is also prepared to try new things to help the horses. You and Tom seem to have a great working friendship and I’m sure he is learning so much from you. It was really interesting to watch the process of repairing the pony’s damaged hooves. Great job!
This is fasinating to watch. Love this!
Im a little addicted to watching you clean out the hooves and im learning too despite not even owning a horse or knowing anyone with one. Love the respect you treat the horses with ❤️
Tinny winky Tom and Super Size Sam!! LOL 😂
I’m SO glad you decided to start this channel it is so important for anyone who loves horses to understand your work! Thank You!
Amazing job well done lads
Poor baby! I'm glad you're taking care of her (& all of them) so well!!❤🐎🐴🧲
Wonderful watching you. Trudy's a lucky girl. Tell me how do wild horses cope? No farriers around their area 😅😅
they travel up to 20 miles a day, so lots of abrasion, and get into water daily 2) any with unsuitable hooves become prey
These videos are binge-worthy! Love seeing how you both work with the horses- obviously lots of trust there. You have a tattoo on your forearm- it’s a portrait of a man (it’s incredible)- what is the story there?
hi megan, thanks for watching i have 2 portraits of the tom hardy kray twins from the film legend its one of my favourites!
I love the banter between you 2 😂❤️
What a cute girl she is. Smaller the horse the bigger the personality right :)
Good on ya for taking care of our 4 legged friends. Mobility is so important for them and feeling comfortable. Brilliant job.
Trudy girl 💕😘 awww the horses like when you talk to them.
Very educational, and so funny the banter you have with Tom. I really enjoyed tonights video.
thank you for watching!
Thank you for being so kind and caring for her
What a nice clean up for Trudy’s hooves💅✨. The back and forth commentary between you & Tom was great!😂 Great videos!
haha thank you glad you enjoyed it!
I would love to see a follow up video later to show how Trudy's hooves improve.
Love horses, and to see your work close-up is great. Something most people never see. I like seeing the horses walk afterward and how they react to their new shoes, etc. Give us a follow-up on the horses who had such bad hoove conditions so we can see their progress. Maybe a video of 3 or 4 horses in one video where you returned to inspect, adjust, or tweek the shoes if needed. Love to see healing for these beautiful creatures. Also, you two gentlemen are gorgeous yourselves! ❤... from a mare across the pond! 😊
Great job! Thanks for all the special care you give the horses. 😊😊
Just started watching & enjoying the videos very much. If I could add one thing, it would be nice especially on your "video shorts" to see the finished foot on the ground. I really like when you show the foot with the fit standing. Thanks from Plattsburgh, New York, USA
thank you so much for watching! yeah sure ill make sure to get some more finished shots of the foot for my shorts definitely.
the nappy section was comical when you mentioned horses had three toes at one point in their evolution sent me on a really interesting google search that was fascinating, really enjoy banter between you and tom keep up the great content
Great job with little Trudy🥰. Sam you and Tom work great together and are quite entertaining with your banter. Just like brothers. Makes for a fun day working forsure!❤
Amazing to see how much dedication and care goes into looking after these horses, your poor back though don't know how you stand all the hunching over x
Wonderful team. Horses so patient. Wonderful to watch 🇦🇺👍
I love watching you work. What a lovely man you are. I know very little about horse feet but your channel is so informative. Keep up the good work. 😊
Spectacular young Trudy...& ever so mild-mannered as one could ask for.
Would love to see a follow-up on Trudy and how well the shoes have worked. You're very good at your craft and so good with the horses and patient.
😊😊
He's so good with the horses
I don't keep horses but love them. I have seen new technology that replace the metal shoe with something that looks like a type of heavy duty silicone. No nails it stays on by friction ❤😊
Keep us posted on Trudy's progress. Now I feel involved 😊❤
I’ve got partial to yorkshire, i love the accent, lived 2 yrs in halifax area around 1975
I watch all this, it’s fascinating, and i like the banter, very up north.
Yorkshire folk are great.
I’m going for 75 now, great memories
The shambles, haworth, kendal and the dales etc 👏👍
Very cool. Ive been a fan of The Hoof GP for months now. But I grew up riding, love horses. Oddly satisfying to see these hoof transformations. My parents had a fantastic farrier i always enjoyed watching him work as a kid. He actually developed a “sneaker” for horses, that had rubber in it, so it made for softer landings & better grip. Much nicer than just traditional shoes. Of course being so handsome doesn’t hurt my eyes either 😳🤭😝
PS, curious if they’ve heard of the hoof GP. This new tech for the horse hooves reminds me of the blocks they often use when the cows have a problem on one of their claws, to elevate & relieve pressure so they can heal. They also developed their own bond goo, i forget the name, but it works well. 👍
Her gait is better but seems she’s still sore
Bet in 1 week she’s 80% recovered
She is more alert that’s for sure
Great Job! I am a new fan :-)
"This side will be easier cos i can use my right hand" ...... my day is complete lol ❤❤❤ the man's a whole snack 😋 xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you for sharing your skills with us. Enjoy watching you work. Wish you the best. 😊❤
Lad ,remember you are an apprentice respect for the horse and mentor.❤
A great video and interesting content as always. It's lovely to see some fellow Yorkshire boys for once. Looking forward to the next video. Tom should do the Otley Run dressed as a horse 😂.
haha yes love this idea I reckon it would be hilarious, thank you for watching
I just came across your content and have really enjoyed watching them and learning how involved being a farrier is. I knew there were people who did this type of work but had no clue what was involved with it. It's been a real eye opener and I can see the need for more people learning this craft. I would imagine it would take some time to learn it and be good at it. I hope Tom (?) will continue to learn from you and carry on being a farrier on his own some day as well. It's interesting learning and watching these. Thank you for sharing these.
