As a history buff, I think Oversimplified has a real gift for making history more exciting and entertaining for everyone while keeping the facts in place
    Great video btw

aara555720 well eh not really Due it being heavily oversimplified it kind of fucks over a lot of the facts and skins over a bunch of important stuff

@@jasonhill2879 of course, this could never substitute a real academic history class, but it's fun to get the overview and look into it more later. And if someone already have taken those history classes like me, then this is more for entertainment.

What is also more interesting to me (being a science and a bit of a history nerd) was the amount of work and mindsets that we’re in play with developing the bombs and then subsequent users of them. Later of course was Chernobyl which is still significant to this day.

About the immense size difference on the map between USA and Russia. It‘s because of the Mercator projection method (unwrapping a sphere to a plane). Because it is further north, Russia seems to be four times the size of USA, when in reality it‘s just about double. Same as Canada, which looks huge, but is about the same as the US.
Greenland looks even bigger, but Africa is 14 times it’s size.
Mercator was invented because it allows straight lines in navigation. And we got used to this way of looking at maps. But don‘t let sizes fool you.

I'd highly recommend checking out John D. Ruddy, who also does similar animated history videos, including WW2 and Cold War, but also the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, the Vietnam War, the Russian Revolution, the 1916 Easter Rising, and even the U.S. Presidents from Washington to Trump.
