    Funny how Doomguy shoots the pistol left handed but he shoots the shotguns and plasma gun right handed. It's anyone's guess how the chaingun, rocket launcher and BFG work.

      Yes, and he also punches without a gloves although with the rest of the weapons he shoots with gloves

      I'm not sure how he's reloading the super shotgun as well, since he is holding the barrel with his left hand and loading the shells with the left also...
      Or am I seeing something wrong?

      Punches left handed and wields the chainsaw right-handed too.
      Maybe Doomguy trained to be ambidextrous just in case he ever injured or lost a limb, heh.

    This gave me an existential crisis over which direction the chaingun spins
    Also I think the BFG animation could use some work, it snaps back a little too quick

      You can select the direction yourself.

      The thing about the og chaingun animation is that it just flips between two sprites, so interpreting the direction that it's spinning is just your brain tricking you.

    i like how you can tell instantly when the footage changes to smooth doom because the vanilla sprites aren't centered properly 😂

    1) More frames is always nice. 2) SSG looks like it is from Quake with all this new particles. 3) Not sure if I like BFG's recoil animation or not.

    The chaingun and super shotgun are incredible.
    What bothers me a bit are the enemies animation, they feel like they die more fast than they should? Idk. Did this mod recieved an update?

    I can't say one is better than the other. I prefer Vanilla, but it's just 'differently good.'

      @BMPK I have to say that this is the worst take. The game is meant to be run smoothly, and the guns were animated to be at this framerate.
      Running the game at lower framerate would be the worst option because everything would feel terrible and it would be hard to aim.

      It's always bugged me that the bolts come out slightly to the left of center in the original but I know what you mean. At least the smooth version is centered.

      @@mr.pavone9719 the recoil animation was what caught my attention. If it's a constant stream, so why is there a recoil cycle for each bullet? just looks like it's vibrating out of his hands

    imo the biggest improvement is the bfg. the original animation is so scuffed. i'm fairly sure it wasn't even meant to look like that

    Part of the Doom's charm was always choppy frames in gun animations, thus i always choose Vanilla over smooth.

      ​​@@wyattbarnett3877 Not everything has to be 60/120/144 fps. Tons of animations look much better when they have proper timing according to the framerate they were animated for.

      @@Baalur More than the framerate (which the OG ran at 35 FPS something we dont even have today sometimes) i think it was more of an size issue. More frames of animation are equal of much more MB, and on 1993 you would really want to save MB.
